Sri Lanka fined for slow over rate

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has been fined 20% of his match fees and his team 10%.

Sri Lanka was found one over short of the target during the third ODI against Zimbabwe.

Mathews will face a suspension if his team commits another over-rates breach within the next 12 months.

Earlier Upul Tharanga was fined for the same offense during the ICC Champions Trophy in England where he was suspended for 2 matches. This is their 2nd over rates breach in last 6 matches.

Mathews and his team was found guilty and accepted the charges thus avoiding the further hearings.

Sri Lanka are currently leading the 5-match ODI series by 2-1. The 4th ODI is on 8th July.
