BBL 05 Preview: Brisbane Heat

( 2178 views )

BBL champions in 2012-13, Brisbane Heat have not had a good run in the previous two editions. Brisbane will look to step on the gas and fire on all cylinders come this season. Lendl Simmons has truckloads of experience in the T20 arena and his side will be banking heavily on him.

Simmons is also a livewire on the field and his watertight fielding is likely to win you the game when it comes to a closely fought battle. Another West Indian Samuel Badree will look to assert his presence with the ball in hand.

Chris Lynn who has had issues in the past with his injuries, looks good to go and he will have to shoulder a lot of responsibility. Easily one of the most brutal hitters, Lynn will have to and want to make it count if he wants to be in the reckoning.

Joe Burns who has been in red hot form has questions over his availability as he is currently lending his services to the national side.

On the bowling front, Andrew Fekete, Mark Steketee and all-rounder James Hopes will have to come up with the goods. What they really lack is a top-notch all-rounder and Brisbane will have to deliver with batting and bowling purists to stand a chance.

Another exciting prospect is former Australian coach John Buchanan's son, Nick Buchanan and only time will tell how his story pans out.
