South Africa announce Test squad for tour of New Zealand

South Africa have announced their Test squad for the Test series against New Zealand.

Morne Morkel returns to the squad after recovering from a back injury, which kept him off the field since June 2016.

Uncapped wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen and reserve batsman Theunis de Bruyn have been taken in place of AB de Villiers, who opted out of Test cricket recently.

Linda Zondi, South Africa's convener of selectors said,

Heinrich is a guy that struck us as someone who has the capability of coping at international level. He is a good striker of the ball and tight behind the stumps.

Chris Morris also returns to the squad, after recovering from a knee injury.

The 3-Test series begins from March 8th, 2017.

South Africa's Test squad:

Faf du Plessis (c), Stephen Cook, Dean Elgar, Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock, Vernon Philander, Keshav Maharaj, Wayne Parnell, Kagiso Rabada, Duanne Olivier, Theunis de Bruyn, Heinrich Klaasen, Morne Morkel, Chris Morris
