Kevin Pietersen opts out of IPL 2017

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has ruled himself out of IPL 2017.

Pietersen has given the reason of a “busy winter” for not playing the tournament and has ruled himself out of the auction. 

Pietersen playing for Rising Pune Supergiants in IPL 2016 but could play only 4 matches as a calf injury ruled him out of the rest of the tournament.

The batsman spent the winter playing in the CSA T20 Challenge as well as the Big Bash League.

He will now be playing in the Pakistan Super League, which will begin on the 9th of February.

The 10th edition of IPL is slated to begin on 5th April and last until the 21st of May.
