Andre Russell facing a possible two year ban

West Indies all-rounder and global T20 star, Andre Russell, has missed three doping tests within a 12-month period, according to the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission.

Three missed tests sums up to a failed drug test under doping laws and it means the 27-year-old is very likely facing a ban.

"We received notification of Russell’s violation about two weeks ago and I've appointed a panel to hear his case," Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission disciplinary panel chairman Kent Pantry said.

Russel is a star player in T20's and he plays in almost all the T20 leagues around the World. He plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, has featured for Sydney Thunder in Australia's Big Bash League and Nottinghamshire have held talks with a view to signing the player for this season's T20 Blast tournament.

Russell helped Islamabad United win the Pakistan Super League last month and was named the man of the tournament.

Russell is in the West Indies squad for the World Twenty20, which starts in India next week.
