This was the first time that Smith didn't look comfortable at the crease this summer. Full and outside off stump, Smith shuffles across and looks to drive but he leaves a big bat-pad gap, he was off balance while trying to meet the ball and hence he couldn't find the middle of the bat. He covers the off stump line and tries to defend, but the ball takes a thick edge and Buttler takes an easy catch to his right before throwing the ball up in the air in joy.
