Batsman Shreyas Iyer has been called up to the Indian Test squad as a replacement for Virat Kohli.
Kohli hurt his shoulder during the 3rd Test match while fielding. He spent the rest of the innings off the field but batted at no. 4.
However, Kohli has still not recovered completely from his injury.
BCCI stated,
“
It made sense to have a back-up batsman because in case of a contingency it is very difficult to reach a place like Dharamsala. We will know more on Virat tomorrow.
”
Shreyas Iyer will be joining the squad on Friday.
The 4-match Test series is currently tied at 1-1, with the last match to be played from the 25th of March 2017.
