For HYD, Moises Henriques put up a superb all-round show. He took a couple of wickets and also played a scintillating knock. He reached his fifty in just 20 deliveries. Warner too played his part with a sparkling innings. With this loss, HYD need to win their last game to qualify for the playoffs.
On the back of Chris Gayle's blitz, BLR won a cliffhanger to keep their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs alive. Due to heavy rain, there were a couple of stoppages and the game was eventually reduced to 6-overs a side. It was Gayle who stunned the opposition into silence by thwacking Steyn all over the park in the first over. He then proceeded to land mighty blows off Bhuvneshwar Kumar and scored 24 runs. Once Gayle was dismissed, Virat Kohli steered the visitors home. In the final over, they needed 13 runs and it all came down to four required off two balls. Kohli then landed the decisive blow by walloping a six off Buvneshwar. In fact, David Warner could have taken the catch, but lost his balance and touched the rope, and it was rightly adjudged as a six.
