12.5 - Sammy to Stokes, FOUR, that is short and asking for trouble, Stokes is a good back foot player and he's tall enough to be not troubled by this shortish delivery. Well, not that short enough actually. Stokes got back and nailed the pull shot through backward square leg

12.3 - Sammy to Root, FOUR, this is short and wide outside off stump, bad ball and Sammy knows. Root had all the time in the world to rock back and cut past backward point for four crucial runs

9.4 - A Russell to Root, FOUR, that's poor bowling from Russell. Can't bowl short and on the leg stump with fine leg inside the ring, Root swivels and pulls fine, gets it to the left of the man at 45 and it raced away

6.5 - Badree to Root, FOUR, there is that conscious effort from Root to come forward to Badree. This is a freebie from the bowler, who wanted to float it up, went as a full toss and Root helps himself to a boundary with a flick to deep mid-wicket

5.2 - Dwayne Bravo to Buttler, FOUR, now that is a bad ball and Buttler isn't one of those players to miss out on freebies! Bravo will argue that it went at a catchable height. Luckily, the placement was good from Buttler. The slower ball goes very short, Buttler waited and cut hard, just to the left of backward point

4.0 - Benn to Root, FOUR, taken on the full and the wrists do the rest. Benn tries the full ball, but loses control, whipped across the line and whipped in the gap between mid-on and mid-wicket

3.4 - Benn to Eoin Morgan, FOUR, left-arm spinner turning it back into him, life must be a lot easier for Morgan than facing Badree. This is full and outside off stump, Morgan plays a lovely lofted drive inside out over cover and he got it from the middle of the bat

3.2 - Benn to Root, FOUR, on top of the ball and sweetly timed. Just short enough for Root to rock back, actually not that short but Root manufactured it by going back deep in the crease, a punch placed perfectly at cover and it raced away

0.5 - Badree to Root, FOUR, this is shortish and in the slot for Root. It's outside off stump, Root stays back and caresses the punch wide of the man at cover

17.0 - Dwayne Bravo to Willey, SIX, Jordan will take ones and twos and the big-hitting Willey will play his shots. Once again Bravo fails to nail the yorker, a juicy full toss that's smashed all the way back over the bowler's head

16.2 - Dwayne Bravo to Willey, SIX, Willey can hit the ball hard and this is a handy maximum! Six crucial runs added to that England total. Slower delivery outside off stump, Willey slogs, gets it off the inside half of the bat, goes over the jumping Brathwaite at deep mid-wicket

10.2 - Benn to Buttler, SIX, and make that 36 off 14 balls. I am talking about Benn's bowling and not the batsman's score. This is full and in the slot, probably he wanted to york the batsman, but it was too easy for Buttler, who simply lofted it over long-off

10.1 - Benn to Buttler, SIX, what! Why give Benn another over Sammy? There are enough resources to cover up! Anyway, England won't mind. Benn races to 30 off just 13 balls. Flighted delivery from Benn, Buttler steps out, lofts high in the air, not from the middle of the bat but good enough to easily clear the long-off boundary

8.4 - Benn to Buttler, SIX, oh! He's hit this all the way! Actually not from the middle of the bat, the bat turned in his hands when he made contact with the ball but the swing was so hard from him and it cleared the deep extra-cover boundary. Full and in the slot, Buttler extends his arms and lofts for a maximum

18.3 - Dwayne Bravo to Plunkett, out Caught by Badree!! That's a brilliant grab by Badree. But he seems to be in a lot of pain after completing that catch. Looks like he's landed badly on his right shoulder. West Indies wouldn't mind much though, as he has bowled out his quota of 4 overs. How bad is that injury? BLR will be worried! The T20 League is just around the corner. Slower delivery outside off stump, Plunkett backs away and throws his bat at it, toe-ends it to the right of short third man. Badree moves to his right, dives full length and takes a good catch. Badree holds his right wrist firmly as he walks off the field. 17.3 - Brathwaite to Willey, out Caught by Charles!! Willey swings again, this time he doesn't hit it far enough and that's a good grab from Charles at deep mid-wicket. Looks like he initially misjudged it and then had to rush forward with the dive to effect a low grab inches from the ground. The slowers ones are bouncing a bit extra and this certainly jumped, hit Willey high on the bat on the slog and didn't go into the stands. End of a decent cameo from Willey. 14.1 - Brathwaite to Root, out Caught by Benn!! England have surely hit the panic button. Joe Root was well set and it was pretty simple to everyone that he had to bat out the 20 overs. Instead, with wickets falling at one end, he plays a gallery hit and gifts his wicket. Root is livid as he walks back to the dressing room. Not sure if he's disappointed and angry with himself or someone said something to him. The way he looked back suggests that he got a bit of a send off from one of the fielders there. Slower delivery from Brathwaite, Root gets down on one knee and tries to scoop over short fine leg, when there is no pace on the ball it is so difficult to execute that shot and Root only got the glove on it. Big Benn dived forward at short fine leg and took it low with both hands. Look at those celebrations from the West Indian players. A fist pump from Sammy with a big smile on his face. 14.0 - Dwayne Bravo to Moeen Ali, out Caught by Ramdin!! You need some luck going your way in a big tournament like this and West Indies have been very lucky. They were lucky thrice at the Wankhede (talking about Simmons) and now they've got two wickets with deliveries that were bowled down the leg-side and which were undeserving balls to take wickets. This was the slower delivery down the leg-side, Ali went for the glance, but only managed to glove it to Ramdin. A strangle down the leg-side they would say. 13.4 - Dwayne Bravo to Stokes, out Caught by Simmons!! Woww! Just wow! What a delivery from Bravo. Stokes was totally deceived by it. The slower ball banged very short, Stokes thought it was coming at normal pace and lined himself up for the pull, then read off the pitch and tried to pull out of the shot, but it was all too late as the ball lobbed toward backward point off the face of the bat. Simmons ran forward to complete a simple catch. A double first pump from Dwayne Bravo, before went for the "Champion" again! Stokes c Simmons b Dwayne Bravo 13(8) [4s-1]

11.2 - Brathwaite to Buttler, out Caught by Dwayne Bravo!! In the airrrr, hit flat and not much of height on this one. And out comes the "Champion" in DJ Bravo. That is the end of a threatening 61-run stand. West Indies needed to break this badly, for Buttler and Root were looking very dangerous. Buttler will be kicking himself for not getting the placement right. Credit to the bowler for cramping the batsman for room with the short of length delivery when he made room. Buttler went for the pull and hit it straight into the hands of DJ at deep mid-wicket. Buttler c Dwayne Bravo b Brathwaite 36(22) [4s-1 6s-3]

4.4 - Badree to Eoin Morgan, out Caught by Gayle!! Surely, West Indies are right on top now. Morgan wasn't comfortable against Badree and the edge goes into the bucket hands of Gayle at slip. A simple catch and the DJ plays "We are the West Indies." A catchy tune I must say. It's going to be one big party tonight I guess if the West Indies seal this. Coming back to the delivery, this was the googly and Morgan chose the wrong ball to play across the line, a thick edge results and slip came into play. 1.5 - A Russell to Hales, out Caught by Badree!! Is this West Indies' day? The West Indian women are celebrating in the stands. Hales can't believe that he's hit this straight to the fielder. That kind of a day Hales, that kind of a day. Can't do much about it. Gee, it's 8/2 inside 2 overs. If you'd ask me to rate this delivery, I'd say 0.1 out of 10. Absolute rubbish of a ball, but Russell won't mind. Short of a length delivery down the leg-side, Hales picks it up nicely, but Sammy had a man at short fine leg and it went straight to Badree who reverse-cupped it to trigger Russell's aeroplane like celebration. 0.2 - Badree to Jason Roy, out Bowled!! This was coming. This surely was coming. I told my colleague earlier that Badree could get Roy very early and that is exactly what has happened. Badree is not a big spinner of the cricket ball, Roy plays for turn which obviously is not there. His technique against spin isn't great either and out goes the leg stump. The straighter delivery from Badree, Roy went for a gentle drive towards mid-on, he wasn't fully forward at all and left a big gap between bat and ball and it sneaked through. West Indies open their account without conceding a run. Captain wins the toss and bowls, this is just the start he would have wanted. Jason Roy b Badree 0(2)

12.4 - Sammy to Root, 1 run, "Roooooooot," gets to a fifty and he gets a great round of applause from this neutral Kolkata crowd. Slower delivery on the off stump, Root works it through mid-wicket and gets to the milestone. England needed someone to take responsibility and Root once again stands up

18.1 - Jordan to Samuels, FOUR, mid-off is up and Samuels lofts wide of him. Jordan misses his yorker, a length delivery on the stumps, needed no second invitation for Samuels to go big. Maintains his shape and hits it clean. Glove-love between Samuels and Brathwaite

18.0 - Willey to Brathwaite, FOUR, West Indies needed that. Clever and brilliant from Brathwaite. Knows Willey will bowl the yorker, shuffles across and goes down on his knee to lap that over the keeper. Four runs and the West Indies' dug-out have a reason to smile

16.2 - Jordan to Samuels, FOUR, if you miss your length, Samuels will smash you. Mid-off is up and it is a length delivery, blasted back over Jordan's head. Needs to get the yorker does Jordan, or else Samuels will tee off

14.1 - Plunkett to Samuels, FOUR, now Samuels is going. Stays back and thumps the pull wide of long-on. It didn't rise enough to trouble Samuels. Cleared his front leg and slammed it away, one bounce over the ropes

12.3 - Stokes to Dwayne Bravo, FOUR, Billings - oh Billings! What have you done? Stokes is on his knees and clears his mouth, unable to believe that drop. The sub overran it and got a fingertip on it. It was the short ball, Dwayne Bravo top-edged the pull to deep backward square, Billings got there and slipped at the wrong moment. What's worse it has gone for four as well. Another big moment in the game. Should've been taken

10.1 - Stokes to Samuels, FOUR, Samuels has won round 1. Stays leg-side of the ball and crashes a square cut wide of backward point. Enough width for Samuels to put it away and a much needed boundary as third man had no chance

8.1 - Plunkett to Samuels, FOUR, what more can Plunkett do? That is a fine shot. Samuels has nutmegged himself and beats deep fine leg. Plunkett just shrugs and has a grin on his face. Knows that is Samuels at his best. Followed the backing away batsman with a very full delivery, but Samuels flicked and flicked hard

5.4 - Jordan to Samuels, FOUR, magnificent drive from Samuels. From the crease and all along the carpet too. There is a ring of off-side fielders, but he has threaded the gap. Full outside off, Samuels's bat came down and once it went off the middle, it was always four, after hitting the gap. Suddenly 14 off the over and West Indies have some momentum

5.2 - Jordan to Samuels, FOUR, that's lucky. This is a pacy short ball, outside off, Samuels hooked and the top edge went over Buttler's head. That so easily could've gone straight up in the air, one bounce over the ropes

5.1 - Jordan to Samuels, FOUR, Sammy claps as Samuels pulls to the deep mid-wicket boundary. The scrambled seam short delivery, not off the meat of the blade, but got the gap and that was enough. Will Samuels play aggressively now, having got his eye in a bit?

1.5 - Root to Samuels, FOUR, too full and Samuels puts that away. Gets forward and flicks the tossed up delivery on middle, wide of mid-wicket. No-one in the deep and it raced away. Will Root continue to toss it up?

1.2 - Root to Gayle, FOUR, so that's how Gayle will play. A bit risky but he has sliced that over cover. Tossed up outside off, Gayle got forward and mowed it over the infield. Will he keep going after Root?

19.4 - Stokes to Brathwaite, SIX, Brathwaite! Carlos Brathwaite! He must be feeling like James Bond now. "Remember the name, remember the name - it is Carlos Brathwaite!" shouts an excited Ian Bishop on air. Bishop must be congratulated for sounding out the potential of Brathwaite. Much before anyone knew his name, Bish was the one who said that Brathwaite is a superstar of the future. Four sixes in a row to end the game - can you believe it? I can't. My heart just stopped beating during the last over. My fingers went numb. Brathwaite must be inhuman. In such pressure and all of 27 years old, he has powered West Indies to their second T20 WCI title. The winning hit is a big one to the deep mid-wicket stands. Again Stokes missed his length, perhaps knew the game was gone, ran in and hit it on leg, Brathwaite didn't want to nudge a single, wanted to end it in a glorious way, six to end it. And then the celebrations began. Have to feel for Stokes, is on his knees and in tears. Even in defeat, have to show compassion for the vanquished and someone lifts him, offering a consoling hand. Phew - what a finish and what a match!

19.3 - Stokes to Brathwaite, SIX, hat-trick of sixes! Can you believe that? Stokes is close to tears. The West Indies' dug-out go bonkers. Hell - my fingers can't type this anymore. My heart can't take this. I'm trying. Please forgive me if I don't do full justice to all the craziness that we are witnessing. Stokes must be feeling the same right now. Such is sport. It can make grown men go weak in their knees. Make them cry. This is full and on the stumps, muscled over long-off. As soon as the ball went over the ropes, Stokes sunk to his knees. Replays show that the bat turned when Brathwaite made contact, but even a mishit from the giant is enough to send the ball into orbit. Look at the West Indies' team. They are jumping up and down. Some England supporters in the crowd are close to tears

19.2 - Stokes to Brathwaite, SIX, Brathwaite you beauty! What a blow that is. This man has some talent! Stokes is livid as he watches the ball sail over long-on. Can't miss your length. When Brathwaite the man mountain is standing there, waiting to belt it. Clears his front leg and smashes it well back into the stands. Looked like a mishit, but such is the power of the man

19.1 - Stokes to Brathwaite, SIX, what a blow that is. Brathwaite has hit that. Full and sliding down leg, Brathwaite swung that flat over deep backward square leg, well wide of the fielder and went all the way. Samuels goes up to Brathwaite and hugs him. A terrific start to the over

15.0 - Plunkett to Samuels, SIX, that is bullet. A real bullet. As flat as a die. Again clears his front leg and muscles the length delivery back over the bowler's head. It hit the LED hoardings on the full. Consecutive sixes and Samuels is ticking. 18 off that over

14.5 - Plunkett to Samuels, SIX, Samuels hits out and gets six. This is not a bad delivery, full and followed the backing away Samuels, but so strong is Samuels on the leg-side, a clean swing of the bat and it goes flat over wide long-on. Just about carried all the way

13.3 - Adil Rashid to Dwayne Bravo, SIX, finally Dwayne Bravo nails one. Picks the googly and slogs it high over mid-wicket. Looked like a skier, but had enough to clear the fence. Kept on sailing

15.3 - Willey to Sammy, out Caught by Hales!! Willey gets another. And Sammy has picked the sweeper to perfection. Length delivery outside off, not sure whether it was the slower one too, but Sammy threw his bat at that and carved it down Hales' throat. Either side and it would've been a boundary. Not to be. Sammy's poor run with the bat continues. Willey has turned the game around with those two strikes. Sammy c Hales b Willey 2(2)

15.1 - Willey to A Russell, out Caught by Stokes!! So calmly done by Stokes. He has bucket hands. Russell was hitting to the longest part of the ground and has holed out. Picked the slower short ball and hit it flat, but picked out the fielder to perfection. Willey does a finger-waving celebration. Had it been on the other side, it would've gone for six. That is a big, big wicket, for Russell can do unbelievable damage at the death. So well-held by Stokes. Pressure catch and he made it look so easy. A Russell c Stokes b Willey 1(3)

14.0 - Adil Rashid to Dwayne Bravo, out Caught by Root!! Root everywhere tonight. But a rank bad ball to get a wicket. Adil Rashid will take it though and looks a bit frustrated as he angrily celebrates. Half-tracker and Dwayne Bravo swivelling on the pull, got a fat top edge. Horridly miscued and straight to backward point. A dolly and Billings must be the happiest man in Kolkata right now. The last ball of Rashid's spell has produced a wicket. 2.3 - Willey to Simmons, out Lbw!! Now that's three. West Indies are sinking. No luck for Simmons today. He is done in by Willey's swing. Plonked his front foot far too across, didn't get the bat down in time, beaten for pace by a sharp inswinger, that pitched on middle and struck him right in front. Rod Tucker has the finger up in a flash. Willey sinks to his knees in celebration. Replays show that it was hitting the top of middle. So a superb call. Simmons lbw b Willey 0(1)

1.3 - Root to Gayle, out Caught by Stokes!! That is a massive wicket. Gayle looks stunned. Have a look at Root and the England team. They are celebrating as if they have won the WC. Shows what a wicket that is. Gayle couldn't resist the gentle stuff of Root, sees the flighted delivery and lofts, didn't time it properly and again Stokes it is with a pressure catch at long-off. Root goes off on a celebratory run with both fists pumping the air. The England crowd are thrilled to bits. What an over this is from Root. Is that the over that wins the WC for England? 1.1 - Root to Charles, out Caught by Stokes!! "The cunning plan has worked" says Nasser Hussain on air. Trevor Bayliss and Ottis Gibson can't contain their laughter. Looked like a ploy to induce the false stroke and Charles can't contain his glee on seeing Root trundle up to bowl. First ball - no sighters needed nor does he want to see how Root does with the ball, backs away and skies the lofted hit, the miscue is taken by long-on running forward. Stokes will never drop that. Must say it is poor batting from Charles, needed at least a couple of balls before aiming for the big hit. Now how will Gayle play? Much like Kohli the other day, Root does the star turn, with his first ball. This man can't do anything wrong. Charles c Stokes b Root 1(7)

6.1 - Plunkett to Samuels, no run, Edged and gone. Samuels is walking back. No heroics from him this time. This was a nothing shot. All he could've got was a single to third man. Hang on - they are looking whether this is a clean catch or not. Samuels is almost near the boundary rope. Looks like it has bounced. What drama here. Marais Erasmus is the third umpire. It is going back onfield now. Not out is the call. Samuels is called back. Buttler has a glum look on his face. Will Samuels get the same luck that Simmons had the other night? Had he crossed the boundary ropes, he couldn't have been called back. That is the law. But the umpires told him to wait, in the nick of time. It was a back of a length delivery outside off, Samuels under-edged that and it died on Buttler. Who threw it up straightaway. Looked a clean catch to the naked eye, but replays showed that it bounced just before it went in. Top decision. Will that be the turning point?

17.4 - Willey to Brathwaite, 1 run, direct hit from Willey and the diving Samuels would've been gone. A thick inside edge onto pad and Samuels was struggling as Willey moved across and slid to shy at the stumps, Samuels' bat bounced up as he was struggling to make it, inches wide

17.0 - Jordan to Samuels, 1 run, even Samuels is diving in now. Shows how badly he wants to win it for his side. Such a laconic character, but has to put in a full-length dive to make it as Hales missed from mid-wicket, would've been interesting with a direct hit

14.4 - Plunkett to A Russell, 1 run, had Roy hit there, Samuels was gone. He had given up. Roy is a brilliant fielder, anticipates the dab to his right at backward point, sticks his right-hand out and then turns around to rifle in a throw, missed and Samuels was just jogging, hoping it would miss and it did. Sensational stuff from Roy

13.5 - Adil Rashid to Samuels, 1 run, 50 for Samuels. In a WC final. He did it against Sri Lanka. Now is he doing it again for his side? Calmly runs a single to short third man and no real celebrations from him, knows the job is far from done
