Jordan to Santner, FOUR, New Zealand need few more of this. First boundary in almost 3 overs. Says how well England have bowled. Full toss outside off, a rare occasion Jordan has missed the yorker, Santner shimmed down and slapped it in front of square, sweeper ran across and dived in vain
15.0 -
Adil Rashid to Corey Anderson, FOUR, another one that is blasted down the ground. Quicker one on off, Anderson gets his right leg out of the way and drives it past Rashid, who tried to his stop it with his hand. Jordan sprinted across from long-off, dived and even got a hand, but the ball escaped to reach the fence
12.3 -
Moeen Ali to Corey Anderson, FOUR, "he's bullied that for four," screams Nasser Hussain. Short and outside off, Anderson backs away to leg, then has to reach out and he flat-bats it to long-off. Jordan had a few yards to cover and he couldn't get there even with a dive
11.1 -
Adil Rashid to Munro, FOUR, how well does he play this? Munro reverses his stance and goes for the switch-hit, takes it on the full and sweeps it through backward square. No chance for the fielder in the deep to stop that
9.5 -
Stokes to Munro, FOUR, oh that's cruel for Stokes. He just looks away. He's actually beaten the batsman here, but four runs go against his name. Excellent yorker at Munro's boots, the batsman tried to dig it out, got some bat on it and it went between his legs to the fine leg boundary
9.1 -
Stokes to Munro, FOUR, that's lucky for Munro. Stokes goes full and around leg stump line, Munro was slightly late on the slog, got a thick inside edge that missed the stumps and ran away to the fine leg boundary
8.4 -
Adil Rashid to Williamson, FOUR, and again! Rashid is bowling way too short, Williamson camped on the back foot and cut it away easily past backward point
5.4 -
Plunkett to Munro, FOUR, that's a hat-trick of boundaries for Munro. Munro backs away, Plunkett tries to follow him with a length delivery, Munro swings across the line and sends it backward square leg, almost went all the way
5.3 -
Plunkett to Munro, FOUR, that's a big heave and it's gone off the inside half of the bat, fine leg is inside the ring and there's no protection in the deep
5.2 -
Plunkett to Munro, FOUR, oh that's crashed past the bowler. Thankfully, Plunkett didn't get his right leg to it. Otherwise, the ankle or something could have gone with the ball to the fence. Full and in the slot, Munro drilled it very hard, Plunkett tried to stop it with his right leg in his followthrough, but couldn't
4.4 -
Jordan to Williamson, FOUR, poor bowling from Jordan. Short and on the leg stump, can't bowl there with short fine leg inside the ring, Williamson gets inside the line and pulls it fine to the left of Rashid at short fine leg
3.4 -
Plunkett to Williamson, FOUR, this time Williamson hits it to the left of short fine leg. He got across the stumps a bit to this length delivery, clipped it fine, was in the air for a while but wide of the fielder there
2.5 -
Willey to Munro, FOUR, he's a dasher and he won't mind if he was beaten the previous ball. Willey targetted the stumps with this good length delivery, Munro stepped out and lofted the drive over wide mid-on for a boundary
1.5 -
Jordan to Guptill, FOUR, that's a top shot from Guptill. Short of a length delivery outside off stump, true bounce on this one, Guptill stands tall and punches with an angled bat, splits cover-point and backward point and once it beat the infield, it was racing away to the fence
0.5 -
Willey to Guptill, FOUR, oh he's gone hard at that. Just enough width on offer outside off stump on this fullish delivery, Guptill went for the lofted cover drive, the ball went off the outside half of the bat and flew over cover-point
0.1 -
Willey to Guptill, FOUR, that's a dreadful start from Willey. Absolute shocker of a delivery first up in a semi-final. Short and wide outside off stump, no protection behind square on the off-side, sat up nicely for Guptill, who cut it away deliberately over point to get New Zealand off to a great start
15.5 -
Plunkett to Corey Anderson, SIX, that's a gift from Plunkett. Anderson is not going to miss. For that matter, no batsmen will miss out on a high full toss, Anderson swings it over deep mid-wicket for a maximum. Hit it flat and well into the crowd
8.2 -
Adil Rashid to Munro, SIX, he's unorthodox, but he's very effective in this format. Munro went so early for the switch-hit, Rashid landed this in the slot for the batsman, who smashed it flat over what would have been sweeper-cover for a left-hander
7.3 -
Stokes to Williamson, SIX, so effortless from the New Zealand skipper. Full and in the slot, unlike Guptill or Munro, he just times the ball than going hard at it. Lifts this over mid-off and the timing was excellent for it to carry all the way
20.0 -
Stokes to McClenaghan, out McClenaghan Run Out!! No, he can't. Swings hard but doesn't make the required connection. Stokes keeps it full and outside off, McClenaghan wanted to send it out of the ground, threw everything at that and missed. Buttler relayed it to Stokes, who hit the bulls-eye at bowler's end to catch McClenaghan short of the crease. McClenaghan run out (Buttler/Stokes) 1(2)
19.2 -
Stokes to Santner, out Caught by Jordan!! New Zealand have lost all the steam. Stokes picks up his third. Fullish and slanted across the left-hander, Santner for some reason didn't go full-throttle with the loft, gently chips it to long-off and Jordan has bucket hands. He isn't going to drop those. Santner c Jordan b Stokes 7(6) [4s-1]
17.4 -
Stokes to Corey Anderson, out Caught by Jordan!! Stokes is on a hat-trick. New Zealand innings is falling apart. Stokes is smiling now, would not have been the case had this full toss been deposited into the crowd. Yes, that's right. He has got a wicket with another full toss. Anderson cleared his front leg to swing, miscued it over the bowler's head. Seemed to be dropping in no man's land, Jordan had other ideas, sprinted across from long-off and pouched it easily. Corey Anderson c Jordan b Stokes 28(23) [4s-2 6s-1]
17.3 -
Stokes to Ronchi, out Caught by Willey at long off!! Ronchi's horrid form in the competition continues. He was sent above Elliott and Santner, a move that didn't work. A full toss on the stumps, Ronchi could have launched it anywhere, instead he lofts it straight down the throat of Willey. He didn't get the elevation that he was looking for. Ronchi c Willey b Stokes 3(3)
16.3 -
Jordan to Ross Taylor, out Caught by Eoin Morgan!! Taylor is running off. Another superb catch from an England fielder. Their fielding in this tournament has been top notch. Length delivery just outside off, Taylor drives it on up and hits it in the air, seemed to have found the gap between extra cover and mid-off, that is before Morgan ran to his right from extra cover, dived and snaffled it with both hands. Made it look utterly easy. A vital wicket for England. Ross Taylor c Eoin Morgan b Jordan 6(8)
13.2 -
Plunkett to Munro, out Caught by Moeen Ali at third man!! A fine knock comes to an end. New Zealand would have liked him to kick on. But not to be. England keep plucking away at the wickets. The plan was to bowl full and wide and make Munro reach, and it worked for Plunkett. Fullish and way outside off, wouldn't have been a wide though, Munro stays leg-side of the ball and has to stretch to make contact, only he can manage is a thickish outside edge to Moeen Ali, who takes it comfortably. Munro c Moeen Ali b Plunkett 46(32) [4s-7 6s-1]
10.3 -
Moeen Ali to Williamson, out Caught&Bowled!! Huge wicket for England. That's a top catch from Moeen Ali. Called for it and held on. The partnership is broken and the New Zealand skipper has been sent back. Flighted invitingly around off, Williamson goes for the loft to the on-side, gets it off the base of the bat and skies over Moeen, who calls for it, runs back and takes it over his right shoulder. Morgan came across from extra cover, but Moeen had it covered. Williamson c and b Moeen Ali 32(28) [4s-3 6s-1]
2.1 -
Willey to Guptill, out Caught by Buttler!! That's in the slot for Guptill to tee off, but he's edged this to the keeper. Guptill is livid with himself and gestures that he should have hit that over wide mid-off/cover. Full and angled across the right-hander, good bowling from Willey as he was shaping it back towards Guptill in the previous over. New Zealand's opener wanted to hit it really hard after making a bit of room, he went across the line a bit with this big hit and got an outside edge which was easily held by the keeper. Big blow for New Zealand, for Guptill was looking very dangerous. Guptill c Buttler b Willey 15(12) [4s-3]
17.1 -
Stokes to Corey Anderson, 1 run, direct hit and Anderson was on his bike. Morgan has his hands on his head and that is why. Fullish and just short of yorker length, Anderson drills the drive to mid-off and sets off, Jordan misses the stumps at the bowler's end
8.1 -
Adil Rashid to Williamson, 1 run, Williamson brings up the fifty partnership by stepping out of the crease and driving this flighted delivery along the ground to long-on
