19.4 - Amir to Watson, FOUR, lucky and four, no luck for Amir, this was the slower ball, Watson was eons early into the flick, he had no idea about the shot, gets a fat top-edge that loops over the keeper's head, rolls away to the fence in a hurry

19.0 - Riaz to Smith, FOUR, that's a sensational hit from Smith, Riaz went miles outside off, it was a full toss as well, Smith nonchalantly flicks it over mid-wicket for a boundary, another expensive over for Pakistan

18.3 - Riaz to Watson, FOUR, another full toss from Riaz, Watson was looking to go over extra cover, didn't get it off the middle of the bat, ends up popping it over cover, no one in the deep, a few bounces and over the ropes

17.5 - Sami to Smith, FOUR, lovely shot, there was no third man in place, Sami drops it short and on the stumps, Smith backs away, opens up the off-side and cuts it behind square on the off-side

17.0 - Amir to Watson, FOUR, 17 from the over, this was full and well outside off from Amir, Watson waits on it, plays with an open face and goes over backward point, beats the man in the deep to his left. Massive, massive over for Australia

16.3 - Amir to Smith, FOUR, that's a poor effort in the deep, Latif is the culprit. This was full and well outside off, Smith reached out, opens the face of the bat at the last moment and slices it behind square on the off-side. Latif got across and makes a hash of a simple stop, allows a couple of extra runs

15.4 - Riaz to Watson, FOUR, Watson will not be cowed down by Riaz's pace, nor his short deliveries. This was banged in short and on the stumps, Watson swivels across, rolls his wrists across and pulls it behind square on the on-side, beats long leg to his left

14.0 - Imad Wasim to Smith, FOUR, poor ball from Wasim, dropped it short and wide outside off, Smith makes room and cracks it square past point, beats the infield and rolls away to the fence

13.1 - Imad Wasim to Smith, FOUR, cracking shot, sublime timing from Smith, tossed up and wider outside off, Smith gets forward, presents the full face of the bat and drives it sweetly past extra cover

7.4 - Imad Wasim to Smith, FOUR, poor delivery from Imad. Flighted down leg, well outside leg and would have been a wide. Smith stoops low and helps it round the corner with a sweep, beats the desperate dive from deep backward square fielder

6.0 - Riaz to Smith, leg byes, FOUR, shortish and around the hip, Smith gets inside the line, is late in getting his bat out of the way as he thought it was a wide, the ball thuds the thigh pad and rolls away fine

4.4 - Sami to Warner, FOUR, consecutive boundaries for Warner. He seems to be a man with intent. Again Sami offers width outside off and pays the price, Warner cracks it past the diving cover-point fielder, raced across the turf

4.1 - Sami to Finch, FOUR, first boundary for Finch. Shortish and just outside off, Finch had the slightest of rooms to free his arms, cuts it hard on the practice wickets and the ball bounces over backward point

4.0 - Riaz to Warner, FOUR, Warner is off and running. Short and hint of width on offer, he stays on the back foot and cuts it behind backward point, Shehzad dived to his right, but in vain. A mixed over from Riaz, went for 11 but got Khawaja

2.0 - Sami to Khawaja, FOUR, shabby. Malik has let one go through his legs. Short and Khawaja made his own room by backing away to leg, cracked it in front of square on the off-side, was hit hard and Malik at cover-point, lets it escape. Didn't bend down and should have got his body behind

1.1 - Sami to Khawaja, FOUR, horrible delivery. Short and down leg, would have been a wide had Khawaja let it go. Instead, he helps it along the way with a pull, no chance for the fielder in the deep and bad start for Sami

0.4 - Amir to Khawaja, FOUR, streaky! Amir shouldn't be too displeased with that. He had Khawaja in all sorts of tangle. Fuller and straightens around off, Khawaja is squared up completely and the leading edge races away through extra cover. How good are the bats these days?

19.5 - Amir to Watson, SIX, cracking shot, fraction too short from Amir, Watson makes room and pulls it high and over mid-wicket. The ball kept Malik interested all the way before popping over his head for a maximum

17.3 - Sami to Watson, SIX, cracking shot, poor ball from Sami, missed his yorker, ends up offering a length delivery outside off, Watson went down on one knee and lifts it high and over cover, went sailing over the ropes for a maximum

16.5 - Amir to Watson, SIX, massive, the strength of the forearms of Watson is immense. He backed away to a delivery that angled back in, gets forward, uses his wrists to good effect and clouts it high and over wide long-on for a maximum

13.0 - Sami to Maxwell, SIX, "that's the shot of the day," reckons Michael Slater. I agree with him. Fuller length and outside off, in the lofting arc, Maxwell goes through the line and sends it soaring over long-off for a maximum

3.2 - Riaz to Khawaja, SIX, massive! That made a great sound when ball made contact with the bat. Short of a length and on off, Khawaja is too good on the pull, rocked back and nailed the pull over the deep square leg fielder, who could only watch the ball sail over him

13.4 - Imad Wasim to Maxwell, out Caught by Ahmed Shehzad!! That's a very soft dismissal for Maxwell, he was looking million dollars today and has thrown it all away. This was flighted on the stumps, Maxwell backed away, was looking to go back over the bowler's head, the bat turned on impact, he ended up dragging it towards long-on. Shehzad watched it all along, went back and holds on, head high catch, he reverse cupped it and held on. The dangerous Maxwell departs. Maxwell c Ahmed Shehzad b Imad Wasim 30(18) [4s-3 6s-1]

7.2 - Imad Wasim to Finch, out Bowled!! Another batsmen who has been castled. Not the best of returns for Finch. He never looked in today. The arm-ball that skids on, Finch was camping on the back foot, he like Warner was late to get his bat down, the ball is through him, crashes into middle and leg. Has a look at the wicket, but the surface didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Finch b Imad Wasim 15(16) [4s-1]

5.1 - Riaz to Warner, out Bowled!! That is quick. Serious heat from Riaz. 148kph on this delivery. Warner was beaten for sheer pace. Nothing but a straight back of a length delivery, Warner was rooted to the crease, is late in bringing his bat down and the furniture is disturbed by the time he does so. Riaz is turning it on for Pakistan. Something about Austraia gets the best out of Riaz. Who doesn't remember the spell in the 2015 WC against Watson? Warner b Riaz 9(6) [4s-2]

3.4 - Riaz to Khawaja, out Bowled!! Riaz has his man this time. Lets out a roar in delight. That is an excellent comeback after being smacked for a six. Khawaja backed away to leg, Riaz fires in the yorker right at the base of middle, too quick for Khawaja and he fails to squeeze it out. The in-form Australian opener is sent back early. The wicket Pakistan would have hoped for at the start of the innings. Khawaja b Riaz 21(16) [4s-3 6s-1]

17.1 - Sami to Smith, 2 runs, short of a length and just outside off, Smith uses the pace well and works it to the right of long-on, the fielder slips in the deep and allows Smith to come back for the second run, raises his fifty as well

11.1 - Imad Wasim to Smith, no run, direct-hit and Maxwell was gone. Imad spears it in as Smith comes down the track and misses the flick, is rapped on the pads and Imad goes up for LBW. Umpire Marais Erasmus says not out. Maxwell was racing across to the other end and Smith sends him back. Akmal with a throw from point, he missed and Maxwell survives

19.4 - Faulkner to Sami, FOUR, slower length ball, Sami hacks it wide of long-on, it hangs in the air for an eternity allowing Warner the time to move across and nearly get there with a dive. But he can't. Bounces just inside the ropes

19.0 - Coulter-Nile to Shoaib Malik, FOUR, uses all the pace on the full toss and slices it past backward point. Races away in no time

16.4 - Watson to Shoaib Malik, FOUR, Watson is smiling. But that doesn't explain why he changed his method of defence. After three superb full balls, he goes short and has to see Malik's top-edge fly away to the third man fence on the pull

14.2 - Hazlewood to Khalid Latif, FOUR, Hazlewood is aiming to go full and wide, and Latif stretches out this time and carves it over extra-cover. Good start to the over. 6 from 2

12.5 - Coulter-Nile to Khalid Latif, FOUR, oh smacked! He's pulled it off the front foot. Short ball, sits up to be hit and what power! Rocketed away

12.1 - Coulter-Nile to Khalid Latif, FOUR, hacked over mid-wicket. Sees the fullish length and just swings across the line. Just over the leaping fielder in the ring

10.1 - Zampa to U Akmal, FOUR, Akmal mistimes the pull to evoke a huge shriek of "catch" from the keeper. Maxwell rushes forward at deep mid-wicket, realizes he isn't going to get there after committing to a dive, then tries to get his body behind the line, but it deflects off him and to the ropes

6.5 - Watson to U Akmal, FOUR, more runs, on a good length and well outside off, Akmal closes the face of the bat and drills it past the diving mid-off fielder, rolls away to the fence in a hurry

6.4 - Watson to U Akmal, FOUR, cracking shot, looks like the comments on him by his coach after the last match has hurt Akmal really bad! Takes a step down the track, Watson shortened his length, Akmal responds by swivelling across and pulls it behind square on the on-side for a boundary

5.1 - Faulkner to Sharjeel Khan, FOUR, poor start from Faulkner, back of the hand slower delivery on off, sits up to be hit, Sharjeel swivels across, lifts his right leg and pulls it past square leg for a boundary

4.3 - Hazlewood to Khalid Latif, FOUR, that's a useful hack from Latif, short of a length and just outside off, Latif rocks back and pulls it over the ducking non-striker, beats mid-on to his left and rolls away to the fence

3.3 - Coulter-Nile to Sharjeel Khan, FOUR, lovely shot, too short from Coulter-Nile, Sharjeel rocked back and pulled it in front of square on the on-side, one bounce and over the ropes. The fielder at deep mid-wicket was a lot finer, but he was just a mute spectator

2.3 - Hazlewood to Sharjeel Khan, FOUR, cracking shot, fraction too short from Hazlewood, Sharjeel swivels across and pulls it in front of square on the on-side. Maxwell is there in the deep, but he's very square and the ball rolls away to the fence

1.5 - Coulter-Nile to Sharjeel Khan, FOUR, clubbed! Length delivery outside off, Sharjeel comes forward, gets to the pitch of the ball and drills it back over the umpire's head, third boundary of the over

1.4 - Coulter-Nile to Sharjeel Khan, FOUR, cracking shot, hint of width outside off from Coulter-Nile, Sharjeel stands tall, gets on top of the bounce, uses the pace on the ball and cracks it square behind point, beats third man to his left

1.2 - Coulter-Nile to Sharjeel Khan, FOUR, width on offer from Coulter-Nile, Sharjeel threw his bat at that, hits it in the air and behind square on the off-side. Khawaja runs across to his left, puts in the dive but can't stop the ball from hitting the ropes

18.5 - Coulter-Nile to Shoaib Malik, SIX, launches it high and might over long-on. NCN misses the yorker, not by much, but it's enough for Malik as he extends his arms

15.2 - Zampa to Shoaib Malik, SIX, looped up bravely, very brave to be honest. Malik jumps out, and ruthlessly smokes it straight back over. Excellent use of the feet to reach the pitch

13.1 - Zampa to Afridi, SIX, that is H-U-G-E! Right over the sightscreen. Galloped down the track, right to the pitch of the flighted ball, and walloped it straight back

12.0 - Maxwell to Afridi, SIX, he's stepped towards leg once more, and Maxwell loops it right in the slot, only to be pumped over long-on. Awesome flourish of the arms

8.4 - Faulkner to Khalid Latif, SIX, that's hoicked and slaughtered over wide long-on. Faulkner goes seam-up, on a length and on middle, and Latif clubs it fiercely

6.2 - Watson to U Akmal, SIX, lovely shot, length delivery on the stumps, Akmal watches it all along and swings it behind square on the on-side, hit it with the angle and sends it soaring into the crowd

19.2 - Faulkner to Riaz, out Caught by Hazlewood!! Faulkner has helped himself to a five-for, feasting on Pakistan's misery. Another back of the hand slower ball, springs up from a length outside off, catches a thick top-edge as Riaz slogs hard, and is taken at short third man. Riaz c Hazlewood b Faulkner 0(1)

19.1 - Faulkner to Sarfraz, out Caught by Khawaja!! Sarfraz tries to put Faulkner off, shapes for the reverse hoick, but it's a difficult ball to execute with. Back of the hand slower ball drifting down leg, and Sarfraz can only spoon it to backward point. Sarfraz c Khawaja b Faulkner 2(3)

17.4 - Faulkner to Imad Wasim, out Caught by Coulter-Nile!! Two in two for Faulkner. Such canny death bowling. He knows the batsman is premeditating the slog to leg. So he bowls it slower and fuller while angling it wide of off from round the wicket, Wasim swings across the line as we thought he would, and spoons it off the toe-end in front of extra-cover. NCN paces forward and grabs it easily. Imad Wasim c Coulter-Nile b Faulkner 0(1)

17.3 - Faulkner to Khalid Latif, out Bowled!! Latif slogs, Latif misses, and Faulkner hits. Speared it on a length from round the wicket, there is more skid than bounce, and it sneaks under Latif's whooshing willow to splay the stumps. Khalid Latif b Faulkner 46(41) [4s-4 6s-1]

13.2 - Zampa to Afridi, out Stumped!! That's the end of Afridi. For this match. And most likely, forever, at least in Pakistan colours. He runs down the track again, and Zampa had a hint. Darts it short and wide outside off, and skids past Afridi's slog. Afridi is so far down, that he has no hope. Neatly done by Nevill. Afridi st Nevill b Zampa 14(7) [6s-2]

10.3 - Zampa to U Akmal, out Bowled!! And now he bowls him. That's the wicket the Aussies were after. Might be a match-killing one. Akmal mutters something in his breath and trudges off. He went for the big slog sweep, but Zampa had slowed it down. Akmal is through with the swing too early and it sneaks under him to shatter the stumps. U Akmal b Zampa 32(20) [4s-3 6s-1]

5.3 - Faulkner to Sharjeel Khan, out Bowled!! Dragged it on! That's a big wicket for Australia, the in-form Sharjeel departs. This was pitched up and held its line outside off, not the length to be attempting the pull, Sharjeel does just that, is very early on the shot and ends up dragging it back onto his stumps. The leg-stump is rattled and Pakistan have lost both openers now. Sharjeel Khan b Faulkner 30(19) [4s-6]

2.5 - Hazlewood to Ahmed Shehzad, out Caught by Coulter-Nile!! That's an awful swipe from Shehzad, he got away with it the last ball, but there's nothing doing this time. He backed away to a length delivery, was looking to hack it over mid-wicket, the ball got big on him, went off the toe-end of the bat, straight up in the air and behind the bowler. Coulter-Nile came in from short exra cover, settles under the skier and clings on - reverse cupped, I think. No redemption for Shehzad. Ahmed Shehzad c Coulter-Nile b Hazlewood 1(6)

9.2 - Maxwell to U Akmal, 1 run, drifts it across off, and Akmal slides back to create his own length, looks for the cut but can't get on top of the bounce. Edges it behind and the deflection is too big to call it a dropped catch. Deflects off Nevill's gloves wide of short third man
