41.3 - Zampa to Phangiso, out Caught by Hazlewood!! Oh dear! This is an absolute shocker from Phangiso. Behardien, at the other end, is quite prepared to go through the hard yards but Phangiso wants to go for the glory shot. Shimmies down the track and swings for the rafters with a slog across the line and against the turn, skies it off a thick leading edge and long-off just has a few yards to move forward to gobble it up. 28.2 - Hazlewood to Parnell, out Bowled!! Crikey! Someone save that off-stump please, has taken a lot of beating in the last 6 overs. The Aussie pacers continue to rock the timber. Relatively similar to Duminy's dismissal - From round the wicket, angled in and straightened a touch to knock Parnell's off-stump. 25.0 - Coulter-Nile to Duminy, out Bowled!! Whoa! There's a love affair going around between Coulter-Nile and off-stump. Two in two, first ABD and now JPD. He switches to round the wicket and creates the angle that normally tempts left-handers. Bowls a seam-up delivery that landed just outside off stump. Straightened slightly and left JPD clueless as he ends up playing all around it. Looks to grope sans any feet movement and sees his off-pole fly after turning over. Top-nut! 22.1 - Coulter-Nile to de Villiers, out Bowled!! Woof! I didn't see that coming, against the run of play! I'm still rubbing my eyes in disbelief. The wicket ain't as dramatic as it sounds but Coulter-Nile somehow managed to nip out the danger man. UNDONE BY THE LACK OF BOUNCE. Maybe ABD was a little too causal in his approach, a fullish length off-cutter that landed around fifth stump line and scissored back in sharply to puzzle AB who was trying to dab it to third man. 18.1 - Finch to de Villiers, out Amla Run Out!! You never want to get run out as a batsman, that hurts and hurts very badly. Hurts you even more when you are the non-striker. Oh, Hashim Amla! AB crunched this to the left of Steven Smith at short cover. Amla was a bit too casual, perhaps anticipated it will go past the Aussie skip. Not to be, Smithy dives - Grabs one-handed and senses an opportunity at the bowler's end. Amla was nearly half-way down and was never gonna get there, Finchy completes the formalities. 9.5 - Lyon to Rossouw, out Lbw!! The idea from Lyon was simple, he turned a few away from Rossouw and created doubt in his mind before bowling this one straight with the arm. Rossouw, even though, well forward could not get his bat in the line of the delivery and was struck well below the knee roll. 6.3 - Hazlewood to de Kock, out Lbw!! Hazlewood comes round the wicket and gets the length right. de Kock once again got across, like had been doing for a while, but this time missed the flick. The ball hit his front pad and then brushed the back leg, creating doubt in the umpire's mind regarding an inside edge. The sweep shot - the one that fetched more than half the Australian runs today - also brings the closure to their innings. South Africa open their account in the tri-series (that too with a bonus point) with a pleasing win over the mighty Aussies. Coming to the final nail in the coffin: Flatter, quicker and skidded through around off, Lyon instinctively looks to broom it square with a sweep shot, with a half-bent knee. AB, the superman AB, has flown across to his right from extra-cover and held onto an absolute screamer. Slider slanting in from round the wicket, Finch drives it expansively with an extension of the arms. 22.5 - Tahir to Zampa, out Lbw!! Australia are being routed. Suddenly, the target is looking very far indeed. Tahir slips in a googly, lands it on the perfect length which is outside the defensive reach of Zampa. It snakes in, hits pad first and the impact is in line with off. Gone sir! 22.0 - Rabada to Coulter-Nile, out Bowled!! Oh what a rip-roaring yorker. It's at pace and NCN has no answers. Actually, it's very cunning on the Aussie pacer. He got some bat on the ball while trying to dig it out, but the contact isn't enough to obstruct it's path completely, the ball bounces and shaves the leg bail. Coulter-Nile b Rabada 0(7)

19.4 - Rabada to Wade, out Caught by de Kock!! This is exactly what has put South Africa firmly in the ascendancy - timely wickets. Rabada is brought back and he strikes immediately. On a good length from round the wicket, it's in that tempting line outside off where Wade can't resist going for a drive. The only problem is that the length isn't full enough. If anything, it's actually behind a good length. He is never going to be in control of the bounce which Rabada generates due to his height. 16.3 - Tahir to Mitchell Marsh, out Caught by de Kock!! Another one. Tahir is pumped. South Africa are pumped. And you can argue that they are in the box seat now with half of Australia's batting back in the hutch. It's a flat leg-break which is turning away outside off, Marsh is lulled by the width but there is no conviction in his attempted cut. 4.3 - Rabada to Khawaja, out Bowled!! This is how you defend the fortress whose walls are not very high. Rabada bowls a full ball which curled in a a touch to beat Khawaja's cross batted push. This time the Aussie was on the back foot and was rapped on the back leg. My first thoughts were that it would slid down. But now you know why I was right to not choose umpiring as a career.
