40.3 - Mathews to Rizwan, FOUR, a handsome drive off the front foot, oh he's timed that sweetly, sweeper cover dives to his right but lets the ball go through, poor fielding but take nothing away from the shot. On a length and outside off stump, Rizwan drives on the rise and drives in the gap through cover

37.5 - Siriwardana to Azhar Ali, FOUR, late-cut, the ball runs away to the left of the diving short third man fielder. Siriwardana fired this through just outside off stump, the pace on the ball worked in favour of the batsman on that occasion

10.0 - T Perera to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, third boundary of the over and that is a poor start from Perera, short and on leg-stump, Shehzad swivels and pulls it behind square, the fielder in the deep had no chance of stopping that

9.3 - T Perera to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, Shehzad has decided to start playing his shots, races down the track for the back of a length delivery, pulls it wide of mid-on, no need to run for those as the ball reached the fence in no time

9.1 - T Perera to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, not off the meat, but still four. Pitched up just outside off, Shehzad goes hard on the drive, the bottom hand comes off, but places it wide of cover-point, the ball raced away from the chasing fielder

8.5 - Mathews to Azhar Ali, FOUR, Ali releases some pressure that Mathews has built up. A length delivery around off, he cleared his front leg and swung through the line, lofts it over mid-on and collects four

7.3 - Pradeep to Azhar Ali, FOUR, poor delivery and Pradeep will be disappointed with himself, full on off and middle, Ali leans forward and flicks it elegantly in front of square on the leg-side, the timing takes it to the fence

6.0 - Pradeep to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, Sri Lanka give away four runs in search of a wicket. Back of a length, Shehzad punches to cover-point, Ali was backing up and the fielder fires a direct hit at the bowler's end, Ali made it back in but the ball deflected to the deep mid-wicket fence

3.2 - Pradeep to Azhar Ali, byes, FOUR, another beauty from Pradeep, indipper which is on a fuller length, invites the batsman to drive, Ali obliges and goes with laden feet, the ball beats the inside edge, misses the off-pole by a whisker. Chandimal dives to his left and lets it go through, he should have done better

46.5 - Malinga to Rizwan, SIX, terrific batting from Rizwan, banged in short, not much pace or height to trouble the batsman, he hops back and pulls it behind square, there was a fielder in the deep, but he was a mere spectator

46.0 - Sachith Pathirana to Anwar Ali, SIX, mighty blow! The ploy to bowl a spinner at this stage hasn't worked. 10 runs off the over. Floated up on off, Ali shimmies down the wicket and lofts it handsomely over the long-on fence

36.0 - Sachith Pathirana to Shoaib Malik, SIX, oh dear! That's a rank long hop and Malik muscles it over deep mid-wicket to bring up his 33rd ODI fifty. Way too short from Pathirana, Malik goes on the back foot, even though it keeps a touch low, he bends his knees and smashes it over the boundary

35.3 - Sachith Pathirana to Shoaib Malik, SIX, another straight six from Malik. Flighted delivery on the stumps, Malik advances, gets to the pitch of the ball and tonks it handsomely over the boundary

31.2 - Sachith Pathirana to Shoaib Malik, SIX, Malik uses his feet to this tossed up delivery bowled from wide of the crease, gets close to the pitch of the ball and lofts it superbly straight down the ground for a six.

49.1 - Malinga to Yasir Shah, out Caught by Siriwardana!! In the airrr and taken. Slower delivery on the off stump, Yasir Shah mistimes the slog, deep square leg runs forward and takes it easily. Yasir Shah c Siriwardana b Malinga 1(2)

48.4 - Pradeep to Rizwan, out Lbw!! Plumb in front! Back-of-the-hand slower delivery goes very full, Rizwan misses the sweep and gets hit right in front of the stumps. Easy call for umpire Rod Tucker. End of a fine innings from Rizwan. Rizwan lbw b Pradeep 52(38) [4s-5 6s-1]

42.1 - Malinga to Sarfraz Ahmed, out Lbw!! Very full from Malinga, Sarfraz misses the flick and gets hit in line with leg stump. Umpire Rod Tucker raised his finger in a flash. Sarfraz though reviewed immediately. Technology showed that the ball would have just clipped the leg stump and the on-field call was upheld. Big wicket for the hosts as Sarfraz can be really dangerous at this stage of the game. Sarfraz Ahmed lbw b Malinga 7(9)

39.4 - Dilshan to Azhar Ali, out Caught by Siriwardana!! Has he thrown it away? He has indeed! Poor cricket from the Pakistani skipper. He was well set, needed to bat through but he's gifted his wicket. Flighted delivery goes full, Ali goes down on one knee and tries to slog-sweep the ball, gets it on the outside half of the bat, the ball goes straight up in the air, deep mid-wicket runs forward and to his left to complete a good catch. End of a fine innings from Ali. Azhar Ali c Siriwardana b Dilshan 79(104) [4s-6]

36.3 - Mathews to Shoaib Malik, out Bowled!! Oh dear! Lapse in concentraion from Malik. An uncharacteristic shot that from the all-rounder, who was batting so well. Nothing but a length ball pitching on the off stump, Malik thought it would swing back into the him and went leg-side to flick, he was caught in the crease as well, the ball probably held its line and as Malik exposed all the sticks, he missed it by a long way and the off pole was disturbed. Big wicket for Sri Lanka as Malik was looking ominous. Shoaib Malik b Mathews 51(51) [4s-2 6s-3]

23.1 - Siriwardana to Babar Azam, out Bowled!! Siriwardana picks up his maiden wicket in ODIs. It was an arm-ball, Azam doesn't read it, tries to cut, misses and his off-stump is pegged back. It was too close to cut there. Sri Lanka are on a roll here as they have taken a slew of wickets. Babar Azam b Siriwardana 12(19) [4s-1]

17.5 - Sachith Pathirana to Hafeez, out Caught by Mathews!! Hafeez has succumbed in an attempt to up the ante. Sachith Pathirana tossed this delivery up, Hafeez uses his feet to it, but gets too close to the pitch of the ball and lofts it straight to the fielder at silly mid-off. A key wicket for the hosts as Hafeez has been in tremendous form. Mathews also deserves the credit for placing himself at silly mid-off. Hafeez c Mathews b Sachith Pathirana 9(15) [6s-1]

13.5 - Sachith Pathirana to Ahmed Shehzad, out Bowled!! Maiden ODI wicket for Sachith Pathirana. He is delighted, takes off on a celebratory run. This was always on the cards. Shehzad wanted to hit every ball for a boundary, flighted just outside off, Shehzad kneels down and goes for the slog sweep, drags it off the inside edge onto the stumps. Once again throws away a start. Ahmed Shehzad b Sachith Pathirana 30(43) [4s-4]

49.5 - Malinga to Anwar Ali, 2 runs, dropped again. I've lost count of the number of catches Sri Lanka have put down today. Malinga bowls a widish slower ball, Anwar Ali slices the the big hit, extra-cover runs back, Pathirana it is again, tries to catch it above his head but spills it

49.3 - Malinga to Anwar Ali, 2 runs, in the airrrr and put down. Slower delivery wide outside off stump, Anwar Ali reaches out and slices the lofted hit, it goes towards mid-off, Pathirana runs to his right from extra-cover and dives, but only manages to get his fingertips to it

48.3 - Pradeep to Anwar Ali, 1 run, dropped! Confusion as there was no clear call, Anwar Ali moves across the stumps and looks to slog, gets a leading edge that goes straight up in the air, Chandimal and the bowler go for it, Chandimal looked at point for a moment and that made Pradeep to attempt the catch, Chandimal then decided to go for it himself and collided with the bowler as he tried to take the catch. The ball hit the gloves and escaped and landed safely at silly mid-off

28.3 - Dilshan to Azhar Ali, no run, Ali tries to pull this short delivery, gets a top edge, it goes to Malinga at short fine leg, who runs forward, tries to take it with both hands after putting in the dive, but it just feel short

48.0 - Mathews to Rizwan, 2 runs, low full toss on the off stump, Rizwan flicks it through mid-wicket and that brings up his second ODI fifty. What a timely knock from Rizwan!

29.5 - Sachith Pathirana to Azhar Ali, 1 run, Ali tucks this flatter delivery against the spin to deep square leg

44.1 - Irfan to Chandimal, FOUR, edgeddd and there is no one at slip. Short of a length delivery outside off stump, Chandimal goes for the cut, gets a thick edge, the keeper dives to his right but it evades him

39.1 - Hafeez to Sachith Pathirana, FOUR, fifty partnership comes up off just 47 balls. Flighted delivery on the off stump, Pathirana advances and flicks it wide of long-on for a one-bounce four

39.0 - Rahat Ali to Chandimal, FOUR, cracking drive, there is a man at sweeper cover but he had no chance. Full and outside off stump, Chandimal leans forward and nails the drive to perfection through cover

38.5 - Rahat Ali to Chandimal, FOUR, freebie and Chandimal accepts the gift. Short of a length delivery on the leg stump, Chandimal gets inside the line and tickles it fine to fine leg

37.2 - Yasir Shah to Sachith Pathirana, FOUR, lofted drive, googly outside off stump, Pathirana drives off the front foot, gets it to the right of mid-off for four

36.1 - Anwar Ali to Sachith Pathirana, FOUR, too short, Sachith Pathirana goes for the pull, not controlled but he gets it over mid-wicket and it has enough legs to reach the boundary

35.2 - Yasir Shah to Sachith Pathirana, FOUR, short and spinning back in, Pathirana waits for the ball to come and late-cuts it past short third man for four

29.5 - Hafeez to Siriwardana, FOUR, lovely shot from the left-hander, Hafeez tosses this one up, Siriwardana uses his feet, comes close to the pitch of the ball and flicks it through mid-wicket for a sumptuous boundary

26.4 - Irfan to Siriwardana, FOUR, shortish delivery from Irfan, Siriwardana brings out the pull shot and hits it in front of square on the on-side for a boundary. He didn't exactly go back and across there, but it came at a good height for him to pull

24.3 - Rahat Ali to Siriwardana, FOUR, back of a length delivery and going down leg, Siriwardana tries to flick it, gets it onto the right glove and it goes away for a boundary past the keeper

18.1 - Rahat Ali to Tharanga, FOUR, Good improvisation from Tharanga! It was a short delivery and just outside off, Tharanga makes room and upper-cuts it over the slip fielder for a boundary through third man

16.0 - Yasir Shah to Dilshan, FOUR, good shot to end the over, tossed up on off, Dilshan kneels down and slog sweeps it over mid-wicket, there was no one in the deep and that is four more

14.0 - Yasir Shah to Tharanga, FOUR, superb shot! Flighted outside off, Tharanga gets a good stride forward and caresses the drive wide of mid-off, once he hit the gap it was always going to be four

12.4 - Hafeez to Tharanga, FOUR, top shot! Had he missed that, he would have been cleaned up. Quicker and on the stumps, Tharanga makes a bit of room and cuts it behind point, the ball raced away

6.3 - Hafeez to K Perera, FOUR, terrific batting! Hafeez saw the batsman give the charge and drags the length back, Perera adjusts, kneels down and slog sweeps to deep mid-wicket, one bounce and into the fence. Hafeez affords a smile, he knew he couldn't do much there

6.2 - Hafeez to K Perera, FOUR, the pressure showing on the Pakistani bowlers. Hafeez dishes out a full toss and Perera puts it away with ease, comes down the track and heaves it to the cow corner fence

5.0 - Hafeez to K Perera, FOUR, Perera equals the fastest fifty by a Sri Lankan. It was his idol, Sanath Jayasuriya, who had got it in 17 balls. It is also his 5th fifty in ODIs, tossed up on off, Perera goes down on his knee and sweeps it over mid-wicket, the ball beats the man in the deep comfortably. He raises his bat and acknowledges the applause from his mates as well as the crowd. This is also the joint second fastest fifty in ODIs

4.5 - Hafeez to K Perera, FOUR, even Hafeez is being attacked. Flighted on the stumps, Perera kneels down and sweeps it in the air, bisects backward square and short fine to perfection

4.0 - Rahat Ali to K Perera, FOUR, can he equal the fastest ODI fifty? The record is off 16 balls from ABD. Short of length around off, Perera flat-bats it over Dilshan's head, couple of bounces and into the fence. He just stood there and admired the shot

3.5 - Rahat Ali to K Perera, FOUR, runs keep flowing. Now the strong wrists come to the fore. Good length ball just outside off, Perera uses the wrists to whip it through the vacant mid-wicket region. No stopping that

3.1 - Rahat Ali to Dilshan, FOUR, Dilshan now gets into the act. Poor effort from Shehzad. Fullish and around off, Dilshan drives it towards cover, where Shehzad dives and gets a hand, but the timing takes it to the fence. He should have done better

3.0 - Irfan to K Perera, FOUR, edged and four more! He is going after everything. Another big over for the hosts. On a length just outside off, Perera throws the kitchen sink at that, he was looking to ping the cow corner fence, the outside edge flies over keeper and first slip, both jumped and couldn't reach it

2.5 - Irfan to K Perera, FOUR, again the length is short and Perera is waiting for those, he rocks back and pulls it in front of square, there was a fielder in the deep but he was square. He connected well as the ball raced across the turf

2.4 - Irfan to K Perera, FOUR, Perera is dealing in boundaries. Not much wrong with the delivery, on a length close to off, he picks it from there and heaves it along the ground square on the leg-side, no need to run for those

1.4 - Rahat Ali to K Perera, FOUR, the crowd are getting louder with each shot. Short and down leg, Perera gets inside the line and pulls it to the right of short fine, the ball raced away. Plenty of Jayasuriya in that shot

1.3 - Rahat Ali to K Perera, FOUR, Perera seems to be in the mood today, fullish and on off, he fetches it from there and whips it behind square leg, the man at fine leg was Irfan, who gingerly moves to his right to stop the ball

1.1 - Rahat Ali to K Perera, FOUR, if it is in his arc, Perera is not afraid to go after it, pitched up outside off, Perera doesn't bother to get to the pitch of the ball, slices it over extra cover for a one bounce four

0.5 - Irfan to Dilshan, FOUR, errs in line and pays the price. Short and down leg, Dilshan swivels and helps it along the way with a pull, fine leg was square and Rahat had no chance of stopping that

0.2 - Irfan to K Perera, FOUR, edged and four! Not where he wanted it to go, but Perera will take the end result. Short of length delivery with bit more bounce, Perera looks to force it off the back foot, the outside edge flies over the slip cordon and reaches the fence in a jiffy

37.4 - Yasir Shah to Sachith Pathirana, SIX, excellent hit! In fact, he hardly tried to hit that hard, but it carried all the way. Flighted delivery outside off stump, Pathirana lofts it handsomely over long-off for a maximum

6.0 - Anwar Ali to K Perera, SIX, fabulous shot! Jayasuriya-esque. It seemed to be the change of pace from Anwar Ali, the line was just outside off, Perera plays the pick-up shot and sends it soaring over the deep square leg fence

2.0 - Rahat Ali to K Perera, SIX, ends the over with a massive hit. 18 runs from the second over. A very poor over indeed from Rahat Ali. Short once more, Perera pulls and the top-edge flies comfortably over fine leg. That went 20 rows back.

47.1 - Anwar Ali to T Perera, out Caught by Shoaib Malik!! In the airrrr and gone! Is there a twist in the tale? Can Anwar Ali manage a hat-trick or something of that sort? Slower delivery on the off stump, Perera tries to play on the on-side, closes the face of the bat a bit too early, gets a leading edge, cover-point dives to his right and takes a good low catch. T Perera c Shoaib Malik b Anwar Ali 15(22)

39.3 - Hafeez to Sachith Pathirana, out Stumped!! This is needless, absolutely needless. The debutant was doing it so well, but he's opened the door now for Pakistan to get back into the game. Nothing but a flighted delivery outside off stump, Pathirana advances but doesn't get to the pitch of the ball, yet goes for a booming drive and gets beaten. The keeper did the rest. Sachith Pathirana st Sarfraz Ahmed b Hafeez 33(28) [4s-4 6s-1]

31.2 - Hafeez to Siriwardana, out Lbw!! Hafeez consumes another left-hander. This was a slider from the off-spinner, Siriwardana was late on the shot as he played across the line, the ball hits him in line with middle and it would have crashed into leg stump. Siriwardana lbw b Hafeez 26(28) [4s-3]

24.2 - Rahat Ali to Thirimanne, out Caught by Anwar Ali!! Anwar Ali has taken a blinder of a catch at third man. Rahat gives width for Thirimanne to play the upper-cut, but it goes in the air, Anwar runs forward, dives and takes the catch with both hands. Excellent reflexes shown by Anwar there. Thirimanne c Anwar Ali b Rahat Ali 4(8)

23.3 - Yasir Shah to Mathews, out Mathews Run Out!! A terrible mix-up results in Mathews' run-out. It was flatter delivery and outside off, Mathews comes forward and pushes it to the left of cover and sets off for a single. However, the non-striker sends him back, but was late to respond to the call, the fielder fires in the throw to the keeper and Mathews has to make the long walk back to the pavilion. Mathews run out (Babar Azam/Sarfraz Ahmed) 8(11)

22.2 - Rahat Ali to Dilshan, out Bowled!! Big wicket for the visitors. This one shaped back into the right-hander, Dilshan played this one down the wrong line as he looked to drive, gets an inside edge onto middle and leg. Rahat has made a fine come back here. Remember he went for 31 runs in his first two overs. Dilshan b Rahat Ali 47(63) [4s-3]

18.3 - Rahat Ali to Tharanga, out Bowled!! Well, Rahat has taken the crucial wicket. It was pitched on a good length and nipped back off the seam, Tharanga gets caught in the crease, the ball sneaks between bat and pad and the off pole is pegged back. Tharanga b Rahat Ali 28(36) [4s-3]

8.2 - Irfan to K Perera, out Caught by Yasir Shah!! Pin-drop silence at Pallekele. However, they realize what an innings it has been, and give a standing ovation as Perera walks back to the pavilion. Short delivery just outside off, Perera fetches it from there and nails the pull straight to the man at deep square leg, Yasir didn't move an inch to take that. A much needed wicket for Pakistan. A brilliant innings from Perera, he has put Sri Lanka on top in this run-chase. K Perera c Yasir Shah b Irfan 68(25) [4s-13 6s-2]

35.0 - Anwar Ali to Chandimal, 1 run, shotttt, oh that's a great effort from the man at mid-wicket. Short of a length delivery on the off stump, Chandimal advances and pulls, hits it uppishly, Hafeez jumps to his left and gets a hand on it, parries it towards mid-on but it doesn't carry to the fielder who was running forward
