BBL 05 Preview: Sydney Sixers

( 3442 views )

The Sydney Sixers have had a consistent run in the majority of the BBL seasons. Winning the first ever BBL and producing a humdinger towards the end last season, this side surely means business.

They would surely want to go that extra yard and pull all stops this year to wipe the loss of last year's final. Mitchell Starc and Steve Smith,  one of the best bowlers and batsman respectively in world cricket at the moment will be missed this season as they are both nursing an injury.

However they have a very balanced side in Nic Maddinson, Jordan Silk Brad Haddin, Ed Cowan and Michael Lumb.

This team have resources galore and that too ones that are likely to leave an impression on the game. Jackson Bird, Sean Abbott and Doug Bollinger, all will look to sting the batsman with their venomous bowling. Hazlewood is likely to miss out as he is currently with the national side but if and when he gets available, the Sixers are all in readiness to hit this one out of the park.

The spin department too needs no introduction with frontline spinner Nathan Lyon leading the pack. Johan Botha or either Steve O'Keefe who has been waiting in the wings will be itching to go out there and leave everyone spellbound. Moises Henriques, the veteran of T20 cricket, has put up some mind-numbing performances and will want to lead by example.

This is one team tagged as favourites going into the BBL and expect the unexpected from the men in Pink.
