Misbah-ul-Haq: It was really important. It is a good sign going into the knockout stage. You never know in cricket, some times these moments can change the game (about his catch which the fielder did not attempt). I got the start and then cashed in on it. I hurt my calf in the middle. The way we started our bowling, Irfan was really special today. Akmal and Maqsood played really well, but we were really good in the field today. I think the best thing is to go out there and express yourself and have belief in yourself and the teammates.
Azhar Ali: Obviously, it is tough and disappointing, we tried our best. We are here because of our mistakes. We did not field well and dropped a few important catches. We batted well and bowling was also decent enough. For every team, it was their first event. Hopefully, we will come good in the next season. We played two, three close games but could not get over the line.
Mohammad Irfan (Man of the Match): I was having some problem in the initial games, but I talked to Wasim Akram and it helped me. I was trying too much in the previous games and was getting hit for boundaries. I am 200 percent fit, we will try to give our best in the matches to come.
Earlier in the day, one Aussie (Brad Hodge) 'almost' knocked Karachi out of the tournament. And in the last league game of the tournament, another Aussie, Brad Haddin, came to the fore and showed Lahore the exit door, and in the process, helped Karachi to claw back into the tournament. After the end of the previous game, Shoaib Malik (Karachi captain) had talked about how he had hopes of making it to the play-offs. Eventually, Lahore's loss means that Karachi go through and Lahore will have to pack their bags. After posting 150 on the board, Lahore would have given themselves a slight chance of defending it, but Haddin's quickfire fifty made sure that Islamabad were always in the chase and in the end, it turned out to be a jog in the park for Misbah's team.
