Shikhar Dhawan too played a fluent hand and helped Warner stitch a century stand. They became the first opening pair in the history of the T20 League to notch up three century stands. However, it has to be said that the hosts lost their way a bit in the slog overs. For the visitors, Botha and Morkel kept the lid on the scoring rate, while rest of the bowlers put up a disappointing show.
David Warner's buccaneering knock took HYD to a sizeable total. It was a typical innings from Warner as he explored every nook and cranny of the ground with his wide array of shots. In the second over itself he collected a boundary off Morne Morkel through on-side. He also used the switch-hit to cart Johan Botha for a four in the sixth over. Warner then touched fabulous peaks by landing mighty blows off Umesh Yadav, Yusuf Pathan and Sunil Narine. He was eventually dismissed by Morkel, just nine runs short of what would have been a well-deserved hundred. Warner's knock of 91 is the highest score registered by a HYD batsman in the T20 League.

Earlier, David Warner played a rousing knock to take HYD to a sizeable total. Shikhar Dhawan too played his part with a fluent hand. In fact, the openers strung together a century stand. However, they lost their way in the slog overs by losing wickets at regular intervals. Johan Botha and Morne Morkel were the two bowlers, who made an impact for the visitors.
HYD held their nerve to overcome their formidable foes. After a lengthy delay, KOL had to chase down a D/L adjusted target. Robin Uthappa took advantage of a drop catch to give them a fine start. Just in the nick of time though, Moises Henriques and Praveen Kumar dismissed the openers. Andre Russell and Manish Pandey landed a few meaty blows. But Russell losing his wicket to Ravi Bopara turned the game in hosts' favour.
So, HYD win their second game of the competition. On the other hand, KOL suffer their second loss. After the rain delay, KOL probably had the advantage, chasing 118 in 12 overs. However, a brilliant second spell from Bhuvi, sealed the game in HYD's favour towards the end. The players walk off the field after exchanging handshakes. Not to forget, Praveen was also superb in his last over.
