Champions Trophy a success…

Now that my frustration is out of the way, I have to say I enjoyed this series thoroughly. It was not a one sided match, with batsmen consistently taking apart the bowlers on a flat pitch. The bowlers had a say, and we got to see which players could actually bat in all conditions. Chris Gayle, Shiv Chanderpaul, Stephen Fleming, Damien Martyn, Andrew Symonds have shown great character in trying conditions. Glen McGrath has shown why he is not to be taken for granted and their new boys, Nathan Bracken and Shane Watson have given an Ashes warning. The fielding for the most part was exceptional, with several outstanding catches being taken.

It would have been great to have India, Pakistan or Sri Lanka make it to the semi finals, but it was not to be. Hopefully they will do better for the World Cup. I still believe Sri Lanka is the side to watch.

It’s over, and once the Ashes is out of the way, look towards the World Cup. My prediction, Australia is looking real good to make it 3 in a row.
