Tension was high and tempers soared to a sky high as Pakistan teammates Ahmed Shehzad and Wahab Riaz were involved in an ugly spat during the PSL. In a match that took place between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi this moment of heat escalated.
Though Valentine's was spread world over, there was no love shared between these two who almost took to blows.
The incident took shape during the fifth over of the Gladiators inning's. Shehzad muscled a maximum over mid-wicket the very first ball of Riaz's spell.
The very next ball Riaz speared in a peach to castle Shehzad's furniture. Riaz at the sight of that was pumped and let out a huge roar looking Shehzad in the eye. Not the one to back down from a contest, Shehzad directed his bat towards Riaz and exchanged a few words.
This did not go down well with Riaz as he advanced and shoved Shehzad away from him. Batsman at the non-striker's end, Asad Shafiq, was quick to pull his colleague aside, while Peshawar Zalmi players including skipper Shahid Afridi calmed Riaz down. The duo continued to spit out verbal volleys at each other even after that.
However, Riaz ended up with figures of 2 for 19 and had the final laugh as his side won the contest by 8 wickets.
