Angelo Mathews has been ruled out of the rest of Australia’s tour due to a calf tear.

Mathews tore his calf while batting during the 4th ODI against Australia. He retired hurt midway during the innings but returned towards the end.

Reportedly, he did not undergo a CT scan but the management has ruled him out of the last ODI and the 2 T20s. 

Meanwhile, Thisara Perera and Lakshan Sandakan have been released from the squad. 

Niroshan Dickwella and Dasun Shanaka have been drafted in as replacements, while Upul Tharanga has been called in place of Angelo Mathews.

Sri Lanka have already lost the ODI series, with one more ODI to go. The 5th and final ODI will be played on September 4th, 2016.
