Vernon Philander all set for Lord's Test

South African fast bowler, Vernon Philander is declared fit for the first Test against England at Lord's.

Philander had injured his ankle around two weeks ago during the County Championship with Sussex. Due to his ankle injury Philander missed the Warm-up match against the England Lions last week.

Philander is not looking in top form. He played his last Test match in March against New Zealand and managed to pick up only 2 wickets in 3 Test matches. His performance for Sussex also has not been all that great as he has taken 16 wickets in 5 matches.

South Africa have a strong bowling attack after Philander being declared fit. Kagiso Rabada, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander are the bowling options for the Proteas whereas, all-rounders like Chris Morris and Andile Phehlukwayo might have to sit out.

South African skipper, Faf du Plessis has not yet confirmed his return to his side. A difficult birth of his child might keep him away from the first Test.

South Africa and England will play the first Test at Lord's on 6th of July.
