KL Rahul ruled out of the first Test due to fever

Indian opener KL Rahul is ruled out* of the first Test against Sri Lanka due to high fever.

He remained in Colombo for observation. He also missed the training session on Monday.

The remaining squad has travelled to Galle on Sunday. Rahul was expected to join the squad later on Monday, but BCCI medical team advised him to further rest as a precautionary measure.

He scored a half century on his comeback in the two-day warm-up match in Moratuna.

He said,

You know that you are physically fit and you have done everything that you can, worked really hard, you are feeling stronger, you are feeling fitter, but the mind always tells you what if it happens again, what if you have to go through the same grind for three months, what if your shoulder is not ready, what if you [have] come back early?

The first Test match begins on 26th July in Galle.
