Batsman Travis Head has been added to the Australian ODI squad for their series against Sri Lanka.
The 22-year-old batsman and occasional off-spin bowler made his sole ODI appearance during the recent tri-series in the Caribbean but was initially omitted from the 15-man squad named for the five-match series.
Australian head coach Darren Lehmann stated,
“
He’s a young player who has the attributes we think are quite important here. We want to give him as much experience because he’s a young guy who’s had some success.
”
Australia are set to play the 3rd and final Test match against Sri Lanka. They are 0-2 down in the series. The ODIs will commence from 21st August 2016.
