Sri Lanka announce T20 squad for Australia series

Sri Lanka have announced their T20 squad for the 3-match series against Australia.

Dinesh Chandimal has been dropped from the squad after a string of low scores in the series against South Africa.

Fast bowler Lasith Malinga returns to international cricket after more than a year of missing out due to injuries. This will be the first match he plays after the 2016 T20 World Cup.

Allrounders Dasun Shanaka and Milinda Siriwardana, and batsmen Dilshan Munaweera and Chamara Kapugedara were also named, after being left out of the squad to South Africa.

Angelo Mathews will miss out due to his injury and Upul Tharanga will captain in his absence.

Dhananjaya de Silva, Thikshila de Silva, Nuwan Pradeep and Suranga Lakmal were left out of the squad, as was wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Perera.
