Shikhar Dhawan ruled out of 3rd Test against New Zealand

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the final Test between India and New Zealand due to a minor fracture on his left thumb.

Dhawan fractured his thumb while batting during the 2nd innings of the 2nd Test and did not field.

India's media manager Nishant Arora said,

Shikhar has a very minor fracture on his hand. He is under observations, and he has been advised 15 days' rest. So he is ruled out for the next Test match. The selectors have been informed.

Karun Nair has been called up as a replacement for Dhawan.

Gautam Gambhir, who was recalled in place of injured KL Rahul is expected to be in the Indian team after 2 years.

India have already won the series 2-0, with 1 more Test to go.
