Ravi Shastri applies for India's head coach position

Former Indian player and ex-director of the Indian team Ravi Shastri has applied for the post of the team's head coach.

He was quoted,

Yes, I have applied for the chief coach's post today morning. I have e-mailed all the requisite documents that were asked for in the advertisement.

Just a few days ago former Indian player Sandeep Patil had applied for the post of head coach as well.

Shastri was the Indian Team’s Team Director since former coach Duncan Fletcher at been freed of the position of head coach at the end of 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. Shastri's tenure ended with India's exit at the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 at home.

With only 4 days left for the deadline for the application of head coach, Shastri and Patil are the only ones who have applied for the esteemed position after BCCI advertised their need for a head coach.
