Mashrafe Mortaza out for 4 weeks due to broken thumb

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza has been ruled out for 4 weeks due to a broken thumb.

Mortaza was struck on the right hand during the third T20 against New Zealand.

Team physio Dean Conway said,

Mashrafe had an X-ray done immediately after the match and the report has confirmed a fractured right metacarpal. Recovery is expected to take between four to six weeks and will be followed by a short rehab. The injured area will be put in a cast as he recovers.

Bangladesh fielded out of their skins as Imrul Kayes and Tamim Iqbal also injured themselves on the field but did not injure themselves too badly.

New Zealand completely dominated Bangladesh during the ODI and the T20 series, winning both 3-0.
