JP Duminy ruled out with hamstring strain

South Africa suffers a huge loss as all-rounder JP Duminy has been ruled out with a hamstring strain and will miss Friday's game against the West Indies.

Duminy who has scored 83 runs from 48 balls in the competition so far without being dismissed, picked up the injury while fielding in Sunday's game against Afghanistan. Duminy also took one England wicket in their opening game at Wankhede

The time required for him to recover is still unknown but South Africa will be hopeful of having him ready for their final group game against Sri Lanka on Monday.

The scans which were done yesterday (Monday) confirmed our clinical suspicion of a hamstring strain which means that he will be ruled out of Friday's game against the West Indies in Nagpur

The team manager Mohammed Moosajee continued in a Cricket South Africa statement on Tuesday, "The plan is to try and get him ready for our last round-robin match against Sri Lanka in Delhi on Sunday."

The 31-year-old all-rounder is the Protea's leading scorer in Twenty20 Internationals with 1,654 runs in 70 matches.
