In the continuing confusion of who will be in the coaching team, new announcements have been made. 

Bharat Arun has been appointed as the Bowling Coach (on Ravi Shastri's recommendation) and Sanjay Bangar has been appointed as Assistant Head Coach. 

The entire coaching team has been given 2-year contracts, until the end of the 2019 Cricket World Cup. 

With these appointments, Ravi Shastri now has the same set of coaches as he did during his tenure as Team Director. 

Earlier, Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan were appointed as Overseas Batting Consultant and Bowling Coach by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) but it was later confirmed that they were "mere suggestions". 

Apparently, Ravi Shastri was not happy with these appointments and insisted that he wanted Bharat Arun. 

Now it has been revealed that Dravid and Zaheer will be consultants.  

After Ravi Shastri's meeting with the BCCI committee, he said, 

“ 

I have spoken to both the individuals as good as three or four days ago. They are fantastic cricketers for India, and their inputs will be invaluable. They will be on board once they have spoken to the authorities concerned, so there are no issues on that. 

” 

India's next assignment is a series against Sri Lanka away from home.
