Australia have announced their T20 squad for their series against Sri Lanka.
Batsman Michael Klinger has earned his call-up to the squad at the age of 36 after a brilliant performance in the Big Bash League.
National selector Trevor Hohns said,
On Michael Klinger's selection, he has been a very good player in this form of the game for some time now. He has a history of strong performances in T20 competitions in the UK and in the BBL, including the match-winning innings for the Perth Scorchers to secure this year's BBL title.
Wicketkeeper Tim Paine also returns to the squad after a gap of 6 years.
Uncapped fast bowler Jhye Richardson and allrounder Ashton Turner have also been called up after good performances in the Big Bash League.
The Australian team will have plenty of new faces after poor scheduling has forced the main players to miss out on the T20s.
Aaron Finch was announced captain of the T20 team recently.
