Afghanistan calls off Pakistan Tour

Afghanistan have refused to tour Pakistan next month due to security reasons. Afghanistan were scheduled to tour Pakistan in April to play a three-match series.

Earlier, the PCB authorities said negotiations regarding the three-match One Day Internationals (ODI) series concluded and they were awaiting clearance for security for the matches in Lahore and Karachi.

In December 2015, head coach of the Afghanistan national cricket team Inzamam-ul-Haq said that the Afghan team should get to play against top teams on a regular basis as it was imperative that the Afghan team gets exposure against big teams.

Pakistan have been playing their home games in United Arab Emirates after all teams refused to visit Pakistan. This was a hope for the revival of cricket in Pakistan but after Afghanistan's withdrawal, looks like the Pakistani fans will have to wait to watch an international match in a stadium.
