Australian skipper Steve Smith was fined 30% of his match fee after he pleaded guilty to a charge of dissent  committed on day four of the second Test match against New Zealand. Meanwhile, his pace spearhead Josh Hazlewood was fined 15% of his match fee for the same offence.

Hazlewood was caught swearing on the stump mic after third umpire Richard Illingworth controversially decided to stick with the standing umpire's not-out call. The incident took place in the final over before lunch as Josh Hazlewood caught Williamson, batting on 88, on the pads with an inswinging yorker.  

Skipper Steve Smith reviewed on-field umpire Ranmore Martinesz's call, although the hot-spot showed a slight inside edge on the toe.

Furious at being turned down, Hazlewood hurled expletives at the third umpire and was caught yelling, 'Who the f*** is the third umpire?' Smith too joined in and queried the decision in what was a rather heated discussion.

The fury came towards the end of a wicketless first session as the lanky bowler toiled on and around the off stump. Australia eventually won the game by 7 wickets to wrap up a 2-0 series whitewash and have reclaimed their world No.1 ranking.
