CAC will interview applicants for India coach job on Monday

Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) consisting of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman will take the interviews of the applicants who have applied for India head coach post.

The Committee will meet on Monday (Today) in Mumbai to examine the applicants. Ganguly and Laxman will be present at the headquarters of the BCCI. Tendulkar, the third member of the CAC, will be joining his colleagues on Skype from the United Kingdom.

Ganguly said that the announcement of India's new coach will be made by today evening.

The BCCI received 10 applications – from Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, Dodda Ganesh, Lalchand Rajput, Lance Klusener, Rakesh Sharma, Phil Simmons and Upendranath Bramhachari.

Upendranath Bramhachari is an engineer by profession who has no cricketing background and Rakesh Sharma is the coach of Oman national team.

CAC will interview six of the ten candidates which are Shastri, Sehwag, Moody, Simmons, Pybus and Rajput. Ravi Shastri seems to be the favourite of the lot to get the post.
