Kagiso Rabada suspended for 2nd Test Match

Kagiso Rabada has been suspended for 1 Test match after breaching the code of conduct.

This means that he will miss the 2nd Test match between England and South Africa.

In the 1st innings of the 1st Test match between England and South Africa, Rabada gave Ben Stokes a send-off, which consisted of inappropriate language.

Rabada was fined 15% of his match fee and handed one demerit point.

This adds to the 3 demerit points he has already been given for having an altercation with Niroshan Dickwella in February 2017.

This total of 4 points means he is automatically suspended for 1 Test.

ICC said in a statement,

During the opening day's play in the Lord's Test against England on Thursday, Rabada was found guilty of breaching article 2.1.7 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Player and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an International Match."

This will come as a big blow to South Africa as Rabada is one of their frontline bowlers. They are already struggling in the 1st Test match and to lose him in the 2nd is terrible.

The 1st Test match is currently underway. The series consists of 4 Test matches.
