KKR were at their very best as they beat KXIP by a whooping 8 wickets at the Eden Gardens.

We got to witness the old aggressive Gambhir today! He played a superb knock to get KKR over the line against a somewhat confused KXIP.

After a mini collapse by KXIP during their latter part of the batting innings, we were expecting the old combination of Gambhir and Uthappa to walk out in the middle to open the proceedings for KKR.
Instead, what we saw was Gambhir come out with yet another partner today, in Sunil Narine.

Though Narine has opened in a few matches while playing the BBL, this was a first time he came out as an opener in an IPL match.

After a few hits and misses in the first over, Narine surprised KXIP with an 18-ball 37.By the time he got out KKR had recorded their highest score in the powerplay.

Gambhir was once again the stand-out performer for the hosts which also kept their record while chasing at the Eden Gardens since 2013 intact.
