Nawroz Mangal announces retirement from international cricket

Former Afghanistan skipper Nawroz Mangal on Tuesday announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.

Mangal has played 49 One-Day Internationals and 30 Twenty20 Internationals, scoring 1139 and 454 runs respectively in the two formats.

Mangal said,

 

 

Today I decided to announce my resignation from international cricket, I want to thank my friends and family who always supported me.

 

 

He last played for Afghanistan in the third ODI against Bangladesh in October last year.

Under Mangal's captaincy, Afghanistan have won 12 out of the 22 ODIs played and six of the 13 T20Is.

Newly retired Nawroz Mangal will head the committee while Hasti Gul Abid will serve as chairman of the disciplinary committee of the ACB.
