Shane Watson suffered a calf strain early in the Big Bash League warm-up game against Canterbury.
The veteran left the field in the third over of Canterbury's innings and failed to bat when the Thunder were attempting to chase down the required score.
As a result of this injury, the Australian all-rounder might miss the beginning of this year's Big Bash League.
