New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner has been ruled out of the 1st Test against Pakistan due to a fractured wrist.
He fractured his wrist while training for a domestic game and consequently has been ruled out of the 1st Test and is in doubt for the 2nd.
New Zealand coach Mike Hesson said,
“
After such a strong tour of India, it's really disappointing for Mitch to pick up this injury ahead of the first match of the home summer. We're unsure whether Mitch will be available for the second Test at this stage, but we'll be monitoring his recovery closely and look forward to having him back.
”
Santner has been an integral part of the New Zealand team and was very useful in their recent tour of India.
New Zealand have not yet named their squad for the Pakistan series.
