Welcome back.. Can BLR defend 166? Sean Abbott has the new ball in his hand. One slip in place
Bopara: "It was nice to get the wickets tonight. That was a nice catch by the skipper. We are happy with 166. The ball was really wet out there and it was slipping out of the hand. We obviously want to get off to a flier, if we get to 50-60 in the first six overs, I think we'd be in a good position."
Gayle: "It's only two games, I don't mind wearing it (Orange Cap) at the moment though. Hopefully I can keep it as long as possible, if not till the end of the tournament. It's a good wicket and I tried to play through the line. The new ball tends to do a bit."
Virat Kohli looked to steady the innings. But Ravi Bopara with clever changes of pace prised out Kohli as well as Mandeep Singh. Trent Boult too made his mark by giving a good account of himself in the end overs and took three wickets. de Villiers then checked in a few shots to bring some respectability to the total. Barring Karn Sharma dropping a caught and bowled chance to give Kohli a reprieve, the fielding too was sharp. For instance, David Warner shone brightly by taking a splendid catch to dismiss Mandeep. The odd ball is stopping on the batsman, but the visitors should back themselves to chase down the target.
AB de Villiers played sparkling shots to lift Bangalore to a decent total. In fact, they were tied in knots by a disciplined effort from the Hyderabad' bowlers. It was Chris Gayle, who played a few monstrous strokes to give the home team a rousing start. However, Praveen Kumar put the brakes on the scoring rate by dismissing Gayle.
With five wickets in hand and two overs to go, who would have thought that HYD would bowl out BLR. Great comeback by them.
19.5 -

Warner: 'Look what a performance by the bowlers there. The bowlers did a fantastic job to bring us back. The spell from Boult and Bhuvi was special. We pride ourselves on fielding and that's 50 percent of the game. Credit to the bowlers, they gave us a nice total to chase and we knew that anything below 200 can be chased here. '
David Warner is the Man of the Match for his blazing fifty
Kohli: 'We were just not good enough with the ball. We were 15-20 runs short. I also didn't stay till the end and AB was going great, but got out in the end. We didn't hit the button today. We gave a lot of freebies early on. We need to figure out and review our performance today. The bowlers should know that they were off their game and weren't good today. With the bat, we got close to 170. Maybe, it was a 180-185 wicket, but we definitely need to improve our bowling in the next game. Adam Milne should be fit next game and Starc should also be coming to India soon. Their return will boost out bowling attack. So, hopefully we will get our bowling right next time. We need to learn from our mistakes and hopefully, we can come back strongly.'
The credit also has to go to Hyderabad' bowlers for maintaining unremitting control. Karn Sharma bowled parsimoniously and Ravi Bopara picked up the key wicket of Kohli. Trent Boult showed his mettle in the slog overs by taking three wickets in a single over. Only AB de Villiers and Kohli were able to essay fine knocks for the home team. In the end, it didn't prove to be enough on a flat pitch.
David Warner explored every nook and corner of the ground to crack a fifty as Hyderabad registered a convincing win. Warner was in imperious touch and just annihilated Bangalore's attack. In particular, Harshal Patel and Varun Aaron came in for some severe punishment. Warner then reached his fifty in a mere 24 balls. At the other end of the spectrum, Shikhar Dhawan played with composure and once Warner was dismissed, he strung together a fine partnership with KL Rahul to steer the visitors home.
