Holdingwilley The second best way to enjoy cricket

The mother who always set very high standards

Geoff Cope played cricket for Yorkshire. He was quite famous as a child prodigy. He once took all ten wickets in an innings in a minor match. His mother was present there.

She was watching from her deck chair, doing her usual knitting.

"What's all the fuss about", she said after she saw everyone being ecstatic with Geoff.

"Don't you realise. He has just taken all ten wickets."

She looked up, rather unperturbed, and said, "But what about number eleven."
