Devon Malcolm

To celebrate Devon Malcolm's stunning efforts at The Oval in 1994, Wisden Cricket Monthly published a poem:

How sweet the taste of victory,
Like manna spilt from heaven;
And what could any sweeter be
Than nine for fifty-seven?

A pity, though, that humble pie,
Unappetising, hard and dry,
Was adversely affected by
The whipped-up cream of Devon.

For every Bok who took a lick
Was rendered copiously sick -
Their faces whiter than their shirts,
Struck down by Malcolm's just deserts!
