Saeed Anwar was seriously ill a few months before the 1996 World Cup.
He was suffering from typhoid and/or malaria.
The sheer will to play in a World Cup helped him beat the demons in an unbelievably quick time. He was selected in the squad for the World Cup and he didn't do too badly!
