Tommy Greenhough was a leg-spinner who played for Lancashire for fifteen seasons. But he was often sidelined during the early years and hence decided to leave the club in 1958. But his captain had other ideas.

But he was as good as his word.
The leg-spinner bowled 300 overs in the first four weeks and got a call to play for England.
