Peter Parfitt was a successful Test cricketer for England in the 1960s. He was one of those batsmen who scored more centuries than fifties.

He had a rather fulfilling career playing for Middlesex as well. 

During his early years playing for the club, on an occasion, he touched a ball to the keeper and did not walk back to the pavilion. 

Bill Edrich was the captain of the team.

He later told the youngster: "If you do that again, you're not in my team."
