Due to some technical problems, we are unable to cover live matches on our site and app. We are working on it and will be back soon. Please stay tuned for more.

Hello again... The record 10th wicket stand in T20s has given Quetta Gladiators something to bowl at. How will Peshawar Zalmi respond? The momentum is with the Gladiators. There were quite a few changes in the Gladiators' batting order, will we see the same from Zalmi's? Dawid Malan and Mohammad Hafeez are out in the middle. Gul to start proceedings. A slip for him and off he goes...

I'm still in a daze over what has transpired. Such extremes attached to this innings. In the first 12.4 overs, Quetta's batsmen saw some turn and lost their minds. One after the other, they came out to the middle only to perish in a matter of minutes. And this is taking nothing away from the spin duo of Afridi and Asghar. Afridi even managed to end with hard-to-believe figures of 4-1-7-5. His best ever in this format. But then, with the score reading 66/9, Elliott and Babar swung their bats in a kamikaze assault, and IT STUNNINGLY CAME OFF. A partnership of 63 in just 32 balls has ensured a fighting total on a track taking turn. We have not seen the last of this game folks. Stay tuned..

Elliott 40(29) Babar 20(11) Junaid Khan 4-0-34-1

17.6 - Junaid Khan to Elliott, out Caught by Malan!! That's it. Elliott's heroics are over and Quetta have been knocked over for 129. Yes, you read it right. All of 129 runs. After being 66/9. I'm not joking, the Peshawar Zalmi bowlers are. Coming to this wicket, it's another short ball. And Junaid gets lucky with Elliott hammering the pull straight to deep square leg. Elliott c Malan b Junaid Khan 40(29) [4s-2 6s-3]

Junaid Khan to Elliott, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

17.5 - Junaid Khan to Elliott, no run, much better. A near yorker on the stumps, Elliott can't get underneath and squeezes it back to the bowler

17.4 - Junaid Khan to Elliott, no run, an emulation of the previous ball, sticks in the pitch from a shortish length, Elliott originally shapes for the pull, then realizes how slow it's coming on and adjusts to play the dab. Doesn't connect with either

17.3 - Junaid Khan to Elliott, no run, slower short ball which doesn't bounce much at all and sneaks under Elliott's attempted pull on a couple of bounces to the keeper

17.2 - Junaid Khan to Elliott, SIX, oh look at that. Brilliant stuff. Opens his stance to a full ball, makes some room and hoists it over wide long-off

17.1 - Junaid Khan to Babar, 1 run, low full toss driven handsomely towards long-off

Over: 17 0 2 0 0 QTG 122/9
Elliott 34(24) Babar 19(10) Riaz 3-0-19-2

16.6 - Riaz to Elliott, 2 runs, now even luck is running Quetta's way. Pitched up outside off, the bat twists in his hands as he looks to carve it inside out and slices it in the air. But beyond a chasing backward point

16.5 - Riaz to Elliott, leg byes, FOUR, poor bowling. Very, very poor. I actually can't believe that this is happening. Full ball on the pads, Elliott can't get bat on it but never mind, it runs away off the thigh pad

16.4 - Riaz to Babar, 1 run, short and wide and flayed away to sweeper cover. He absolutely slapped that

16.3 - Riaz to Elliott, 1 run, looks to heave a length ball across the line but mistimes it to mid-wicket. And then the batsmen decide to have a mid-pitch conference which results in them deciding to go through with the single. Babar would have been gone with a direct-hit

16.3 - Riaz to Elliott, wide, Peshawar are losing the plot. Short and wild down the leg-side. Ridiculous ball. The partnership keeps growing

16.2 - Riaz to Elliott, 2 runs, went too hard looking to thwack a full ball straight down, slices it in front of long-off and scuttles back

16.2 - Riaz to Elliott, wide, goes for the wide yorker but ends up drifting well wide of off

16.1 - Riaz to Babar, 1 run, and this is why Babar is being trusted. Smartly steers a length ball down to third man

Wahab Riaz [2.0-0-10-2] is back into the attack

Elliott 29(20) Babar 17(8) Junaid Khan 3-0-27-0

15.6 - Junaid Khan to Elliott, 2 runs, length ball slanted in towards middle, a mistimed slog wide of long-on fetches him a couple. I would have imagined Elliott being happy with the single. But no, he trusts his partner enough

15.5 - Junaid Khan to Elliott, 2 runs, slingy low full toss angled in on middle from round the wicket, Elliott swats it wide of the deep mid-wicket fielder and rushes back to farm strike

15.4 - Junaid Khan to Elliott, no run, banged in short and smacks Elliott on the helmet. It held up in the pitch and Elliott was already through with the stroke before it arrived

15.3 - Junaid Khan to Babar, 1 run, full again and Babar drives it down to long-on

15.2 - Junaid Khan to Elliott, 1 run, makes some room but doesn't have the length to play with as Junaid spears in a yorker, squeezed down to long-off

15.1 - Junaid Khan to Babar, 1 run, full toss which is happily nudged through mid-wicket by Babar to hand it to his more accomplished partner

Junaid Khan [2.0-0-20-0] is back into the attack

Over: 15 1 1 1 0 W 1 6 0 QTG 102/9
Elliott 24(16) Babar 15(6) Asghar 4-0-35-1

14.6 - Asghar to Elliott, SIX, another six! This partnership is already worth 36 runs off just 15 balls. Has saved face to an extent. Elliott sinks low on one knee and wallops the slog-sweep over the mid-wicket fence

14.5 - Asghar to Elliott, no run, flatter on the stumps, pushed down the pitch off the back foot

14.4 - Asghar to Babar, 1 run, angled into the pads, clipped through mid-wicket

14.3 - Asghar to Babar, 2 runs, another brilliant dab. Are you watching, Quetta's top-order? Flat and slightly short turning away from off, Babar doesn't commit to any stroke on the back foot, waits for it and angles it fine. Backward point chases it down

14.2 - Asghar to Babar, SIX, now he's launched one back over the bowler's head. Tossed up generously on middle, Babar gets right under it, uses those long levers and extends his arms freely

14.1 - Asghar to Babar, FOUR, handy runs. This partnership is surging at a rapid pace. Quicker and flatter outside off, Babar lunges forward and steers it behind backward point. There was a lot of pace from Asghar's arm and Babar used all of it

Strategic time-out!

Over: 14 1 1 QTG 83/9
Elliott 18(14) Babar 2(2) Tait 3-0-26-0

13.6 - Tait to Elliott, no run, makes room looking to hurl a length ball inside out over extra-cover, he moved away so much that it took the delivery out of his arc. Fails to connect

13.5 - Tait to Elliott, no run, suddenly the extra pace on the ball is aiding Elliott. He's absolutely crunched this off the back foot. But can't get the punch past backward point

13.4 - Tait to Elliott, SIX, oh whack! That's a scorcher. Swivels across to a back of a length delivery and swings it over deep backward square. That rocketed off the willow and hardly left the turf. Flat six

13.3 - Tait to Elliott, FOUR, short ball down leg side, Elliott gets it flying off the top edge over short fine leg. He was just trying to help it along but I can't see him complaining

13.2 - Tait to Elliott, FOUR, Elliott finally has the length which he can make good of. Tait dishes out a full ball and then looks overhead to spot the ball which has been lofted over him

13.1 - Tait to Elliott, no run, drills in the yorker outside off, sneaks under Elliott's swishing bat

13.1 - Tait to Babar, no ball, 1 run, full and slingy, nearly in the blockhole on middle, Babar flicks it to deep square leg. And wait, the umpire has his right hand outstretched indicating a no-ball. Free-hit to follow. Replays show that Tait's heel was atleast a couple of inches behind the line. Harsh. Mistaken

Shaun Tait [2.0-0-10-0] is back into the attack

Over: 13 4 QTG 67/9
Elliott 4(8) Babar 1(1) Asghar 3-0-16-1

12.6 - Asghar to Elliott, no run, flatter outside off, pushed towards cover

12.5 - Asghar to Babar, 1 run, Babar is not messing around here. Hurtles down the track for an agricultural heave and swats it off a thick inside edge towards deep mid-wicket

Zulfiqar Babar, right handed bat, comes to the crease

12.4 - Asghar to Umar Gul, out Caught by Sammy!! Oh my word. These wickets just can't stop tumbling. Are we playing on a barren desert or what. If ever we can use the word annihilated in cricket, this is it. Shabby display. Gul prods across to defend a flighted ball, doesn't reach the pitch leaving himself vulnerable to the turn. Gets the outside edge and offers a regulation take to slip. Umar Gul c Sammy b Asghar 0(2)

Asghar to Umar Gul, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

12.3 - Asghar to Elliott, 1 run, loopy ball on off, driven to long-off

12.2 - Asghar to Elliott, no run, flatter and sliding towards off, punched to extra-cover

12.1 - Asghar to Elliott, no run, moves across on the front foot to get inside the line of a ball drifting down leg, and then fails to connect with the sweep

Over: 12 1 QTG 65/8
Umar Gul 0(1) Elliott 3(4) Afridi 4-1-7-5

11.6 - Afridi to Umar Gul, no run, Umar Gul has planted his foot forward and blunted out a quicker leg-break to eliminate the hat-trick. Anti climax

Umar Gul, right handed bat, comes to the crease

11.5 - Afridi to Chigumbura, out Lbw!! Another one. Afridi is on a hat-trick. Not sure about the decision though. Looks like the umpire just got carried away with the flow and raised his finger. Afridi manages to hit Chigumbura's front pad by spinning a googly a long way. But to me it looked like Chigumbura had managed to haul his leg outside the line of off. Nevertheless, the crowd could care less. They are going wild. Listen to the noise. Chigumbura lbw b Afridi 0(1)

Afridi to Chigumbura, THAT'S OUT!! Lbw!!

Elton Chigumbura, right handed bat, comes to the crease

11.4 - Afridi to Nabi, out Caught by S Yousuf!! Quetta are just being dismantled by these tweakers. 65/7 and in real danger of not batting their 20 overs. Such cunning bowling from Afridi. Tosses it up wider, knows that Nabi wouldn't curb his instincts for long. And he doesn't disappoint. Goes chasing after it to carve it inside out, then it turns and he slices it straight to backward point. Nabi c S Yousuf b Afridi 2(10)

Afridi to Nabi, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

11.3 - Afridi to Nabi, no run, flicked towards square leg

11.2 - Afridi to Nabi, no run, makes some room to a flatter ball, and punches it to extra-cover

11.1 - Afridi to Nabi, no run, tossed up and angling in with the arm on middle and leg, tucked to mid-wicket

10.6 - Asghar to Nabi, 1 run, drifting in on middle and leg, nudged through mid-wicket

10.5 - Asghar to Elliott, 1 run, drops it short outside off this time, should be really upset with this. Enables Elliott to get off strike with a square cut

10.4 - Asghar to Elliott, no run, much better length. Near unplayable with the turn. Sharjah is turning into a snake pit now. Quicker through the air, draws the batsman forward to defend on off before ripping away to beat the edge

10.3 - Asghar to Nabi, 1 run, flatter outside off, punched to deep cover

10.2 - Asghar to Nabi, no run, look at that turn. Darted in on a shortish length on off from round the wicket, then turns against the angle. Nabi is able to adjust on the back foot and block

10.1 - Asghar to Elliott, 1 run, uses his feet to get close to the ball and works it down to long-on

9.5 - Afridi to Nabi, no run, tossed up leg-break outside off, driven to extra-cover

9.4 - Afridi to Nabi, no run, starts with a wrong 'un to the new man, Nabi is all at sea and struck on the pad. Would have gone down leg

Mohammad Nabi, right handed bat, comes to the crease

9.3 - Afridi to Sarfraz, out Bowled!! Was it the googly? Or did Sarfraz just over-anticipate the turn on the leg-break and overcompensated for it? Need another look to confirm. One thing I'm certain about is that the length just wasn't there to drive. Ended up having to reach out for it well away from the body outside off. And yes, it was indeed the googly. Turned back to take a thick inside edge and clattered the timber. Sarfraz b Afridi 10(6) [6s-1]

Afridi to Sarfraz, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

9.2 - Afridi to Elliott, 1 run, quicker and drifting down leg, glances it wide of short fine leg

Grant Elliott, right handed bat, comes to the crease

9.1 - Afridi to Mohammad Nawaz, out Lbw!! Torrid stuff. Lots of premeditation when the need of the hour is to rebuild. Goes down on one knee even before seeing the length, then must have got a rude shock after seeing it land full. Sneaks under his bat and turns enough against the angle to hit him in front of middle. Dead. Mohammad Nawaz lbw b Afridi 5(12)

8.6 - Asghar to Mohammad Nawaz, 1 run, drifting into the pads, nurdled behind square

8.5 - Asghar to Mohammad Nawaz, no run, skips out of the crease but realizes that he is defeated by the length, pats it away

8.4 - Asghar to Sarfraz, 1 run, goes a lot squarer with the sweep this time, did well to reach out actually as the ball was further full than the previous one. Hits it to deep square

8.3 - Asghar to Sarfraz, 2 runs, premeditates the sweep and hits it hard wide of deep mid-wicket. It's wide enough of the fielder to facilitate a couple

8.2 - Asghar to Sarfraz, SIX, does a little dance out of the crease and slaughters a flighted ball into orbit over wide long-on. He timed the guts out of it after reaching the pitch

8.1 - Asghar to Sarfraz, no run, slower through the air with sufficient in-drift from round the wicket, Sarfraz makes sure to get beside the ball and drives to cover

Mohammad Asghar, comes into the attack

Mohammad Nawaz 4(9) Sarfraz 1(1) Afridi 2-0-6-1

7.6 - Afridi to Mohammad Nawaz, no run, flatter and quicker outside off, Nawaz looks to force it through the off-side on the back foot, but went too hard and chopped it at his feet instead

7.6 - Afridi to Mohammad Nawaz, wide, fired well down leg, easy call

7.5 - Afridi to Sarfraz, 1 run, drifting in rather too much for Afridi's liking, Sarfraz can nudge it away behind square

7.4 - Afridi to Mohammad Nawaz, 1 run, tossed up judiciously outside off, Nawaz lunges across and drives it through the point region

7.3 - Afridi to Mohammad Nawaz, no run, googly turning away from a length on off, Nawaz doesn't pick it and closes the bat-face on it. Should be grateful that the leading edge rolled along to cover

Sarfraz Ahmed, right handed bat, comes to the crease

7.2 - Afridi to Shafiq, out Shafiq Run Out!! Quetta are sinking rather rapidly here. Some mindless batting, and now some crazy running. Makes room only to be cleverly followed by Afridi, can only drag it towards the non-striker off the inside edge while looking to go inside-out, and then decides to take on Afridi. The evergreen Afridi. He skates across, collects, does a little turn and fires down the stumps to catch Shafiq inches short. Shafiq run out (Afridi) 16(15) [4s-1 6s-1]

Afridi to Shafiq, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!

6.6 - Riaz to Mohammad Nawaz, 1 run, short of length delivery angled into the body, Nawaz does a little hop on the back foot and glances it to fine leg

6.5 - Riaz to Mohammad Nawaz, no run, short ball wide of off, Nawaz is just happy it wasn't near his throat. Doesn't bother chasing it

6.4 - Riaz to Shafiq, 1 run, slippery short of length delivery seeking to disturb the rib-cage, pulled through square leg

6.3 - Riaz to Shafiq, no run, doesn't bounce as much as Shafiq expects from a short of length, and sneaks under his attempted pull through to the keeper. The line, which was outside off, wasn't ideal for the stroke either

6.2 - Riaz to Shafiq, no run, ugly slog to a length ball results in the bat turning in Shafiq's hands and he botches it to mid-wicket

6.1 - Riaz to Shafiq, no run, pushed across Shafiq on a back of a length, he stands tall and punches it to extra-cover

5.6 - Afridi to Mohammad Nawaz, no run, another one down leg which brushes Nawaz's pad as he misses with the flick

5.5 - Afridi to Shafiq, 1 run, lots of air given by Afridi obviously encouraged by the turn on offer, Shafiq leans into the ball and pushes it to long-off

5.4 - Afridi to Mohammad Nawaz, 1 run, drifting in nicely with the arm, tucked through mid-wicket

5.3 - Afridi to Mohammad Nawaz, no run, pushes this through the air but the line goes awry. Slips down the leg-side. Looks like it touched something on the way through to the keeper. Umpire reckons the same but feels that it wasn't bat. Pad maybe

Mohammad Nawaz, left handed bat, comes to the crease

5.2 - Afridi to Akbar-ur-Rehman, out Caught by S Yousuf!! Now Akbar-ur-Rehman is done in by the length on this occasion. It dips in the air to land a bit short than he thinks it will while attempting a cover-drive. A little bit of turn means that he ends up slicing it in the air in front of backward point. The ball was dying on Yousuf who did brilliantly to dive forward and catch it inches above the carpet. Akbar-ur-Rehman c S Yousuf b Afridi 1(4)

Akbar-ur-Rehman, right handed bat, comes to the crease

4.4 - Riaz to Sangakkara, out Bowled!! Wahab Riaz has gone through Sangakkara to become the leading wicket-taker in this competition so far. Kumar Sangakkara, left handed bat, comes to the crease

4.2 - Riaz to Ahmed Shehzad, out Bowled!! Knocked him over! Oh, this is not good. Physical contact in our sport is just uncalled for. Shehzad was lazy to leave and seemed to gesture something with his bat, to which Riaz lost his cool. Spewed a mouthful and collided straight into his compatriot before shoving him away. Coming to the ball itself, it was a brilliant bit of trickery to deceive the batsman by a slower ball. Shehzad was through with his swing too early and the ball went on to knock over the top of off. The battle of the top two teams turned into an anticlimax. So much was expected from this encounter and Quetta Gladiators just capitulated, Peshawar Zalmi cruised home with disdain. That brings a closure to another double-header. There are only three more league games before the knockouts. Join us for those. Until next time, take care and Cya!

Afridi: They have a very good team and have a good combination. A win against a good team always feels good. We didn't have the energy in the previous game as we were playing continuously. We will meet them again in the qualifier. We have to work hard to beat them. There were a few runs leaked at the death. Junaid bowls well at the death.

Shahid Afridi is the Man of the Match for his career-best T20 figures of 5/7.

Sarfraz: We have learnt a lot from this loss. We started well before Afridi came into the attack. He bowled well and bowled us out of the game. We made quite a few changes and we will need to get the winning team back.

It was a straightforward run-chase for Peshawar Zalmi. Hafeez and Malan started on a cautious note before the former hit his straps. Took a particular liking to Mohammad Nawaz, but also perished to him. Malan initially struggled for timing and so too did Akmal. However, the pair stuck it out and added a 50-run stand. The Englishman made sure he remained unbeaten and took his side home. The Gladiators bowlers tried their best with the score they had.

18.4 - Mohammad Nawaz to Malan, FOUR, Peshawar Zalmi win by 8 wickets. They jump to the top of the points table. They seem to be a happy bunch. Afridi leads his team out. Sir Viv Richards is heard saying, "well bowled" to the Zalmi's skipper. Coming to the ball, floated up outside off, Malan strides forward and drills the drive in front of square, sweeper gets there and lets the ball escape
