The players are out in the middle.

Welcome back. KOL have the firepower to chase this down, but PUN bowling has been impressive so far in this season. Let's see who comes out on top.

Bailey: 'Everytime we got a little bit of momentum, we lost wickets. The pitch has some pace in it and hopefully, the quicks can utilize that. Hopefully, we can bowl well and end the night with a win.'

Umesh and Andre Russell snared five wickets between them. Morne Morkel extracted pace and disconcerting bounce to keep the batsmen on their toes. For Punjab to win from here, their bowlers have to put up a sterling performance.

George Bailey's well-measured knock helped Punjab to reach a decent total. In fact, Kolkata landed crucial blows to keep the opposition in check. However, Glenn Maxwell and Bailey strung together a fifty-run partnership as the hosts made a smart recovery. It was Umesh Yadav, who made the breakthrough by dismissing the dangerous Maxwell. Bailey then guided Punjab to a score of some respectability.

Johnson 1(2) Anureet Singh 0(1) M Morkel 4-0-27-2

19.6 - M Morkel to Johnson, out Caught by Gambhir!! Johnson is out on the last ball of the innings. PUN finish with 155 on the board. It was a high full toss outside off, Johnson slices it towards backward point, where Gambhir takes a good catch stretching and jumping to his left. He did really well to take that catch as the ball was travelling and had he failed to stop it, it would have costed KOL 4 runs. The umpires check for the no-ball because of the height, but it's a fair delivery. Johnson c Gambhir b M Morkel 1(2)

M Morkel to Johnson, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

19.5 - M Morkel to Anureet Singh, byes, 1 run, yorker wide outside off, Anureet fails to squeeze it out and the batsmen charge across for a quick bye

Anureet Singh, right handed bat, comes to the crease

19.4 - M Morkel to Bailey, out Bailey Run Out!! 1 run completed. Bailey has been run-out here, trying to come back for the second run. It was a low full toss outside off, Bailey drives it towards long-off and tries to come back for the second. The fielder fires in the throw at the striker's end and Uthappa does well take the bails off even though the throw was not on top of the stumps. Uthappa had to move a long way to his left to collect the ball and then had to stretch quickly to his right to effect the run-out. Bailey run out (ten Doeschate/Uthappa) 60(45) [4s-5 6s-2]

M Morkel to Bailey, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!

19.3 - M Morkel to Bailey, no run, goes across and looks to scoop this over short fine leg, he fails to connect and the ball hits the pad, he can't take the leg bye as he falls over after trying to play that shot

19.2 - M Morkel to Bailey, SIX, full toss outside off, Bailey lofts it over long-off, who jumps right near the rope, gets two hands to it, but can't hold on. Not just that, the followthrough would have taken him over the rope anyway, Bailey now has the Orange cap

19.2 - M Morkel to Bailey, SIX, to long off,

19.1 - M Morkel to Johnson, 1 run, back of a length delivery on leg, Johnson nudges it behind square on the on-side and gives the strike to Bailey

18.6 - Narine to A Patel, out Caught by Suryakumar Yadav!! Narine picks up his first wicket of this year's T20 League. It was tossed up outside off, Patel goes for the slog sweep and ends up slicing it, he got more height than distance on it, long-off settles under it and takes it easily. Bailey uses his wrists to the optimum level there

He's a great lad, he's a great guy to have in the dressing room.'

Bailey: 'I am fine (on his injury). Once again, we didn't do either of the three disciplines well enough to win it. We kept losing wickets and never got any partnerships as such. We were 15-20 runs short. We missed a few run-out chances as well. It felt like that we are not getting our plans right. Full credit to Russell, and Yusuf (Pathan) too because of how he curbed his natural instinct and held one end. We will have a couple of tough games before we go to Mohali, Rajasthan and Chennai are both top of the pile and we need to perform well against them.'

Earlier in the day, George Bailey amassed a well-constructed fifty to help Punjab recover. Maxwell too played a breezy knock. However, in the end, they paid the price for losing wickets at regular intervals. The hosts have now has lost three of their four games in this year's T20 League. On the other hand, Kolkata have been successful in winning two of the three matches they have played.

Andre Russell's pyrotechnics helped Kolkata to register a convincing win. Sandeep Sharma swung the ball both ways to snare four wickets and put Punjab in front. However, it was Russell, who changed the complexion of the game with a flurry of breathtaking shots. he took a heavy toll off Axar Patel, Thisara Perera and Mitchell Johnson's bowling. In fact, Johnson had a forgettable day as he was hit to all corners of the ground.

The KOL dugout is extremely delighted, they were 60/5 at one stage. But, Andre Russell took the game away from PUN. The players walk off after shaking hands with each other. Gambhir can afford a smile now. He leads his team onto the field as they exchange handshakes with the opposition.

Even he can't believe that he has put that down
