Due to some technical problems, we are unable to cover live matches on our site and app. We are working on it and will be back soon. Please stay tuned for more.

Right, Rohit's hundred has set the gauntlet for South Africa. If there is one batsman who can match it up, it is AB de Villiers. How will the world's best batsman respond to the challenge. Remember, South Africa have chased more than 200 only once and none against India..

Rohit: "I really enjoyed batting out there, it was a good wicket to bat on. After playing 3-4 overs, we knew that we needed a really good score on the board. The idea was to bat on and bat deep. That hundred partnership with Virat was crucial. I was feeling pretty good out there as I was timing it well."

South Africa need exactly 200 to win this contest. They will back themselves as the pitch is good to bat on and there is a bit of dew on the outfield as well. The chase is going to be interesting and all eyes will be on AB de Villiers, who will open the batting. Take a small break and join us back for South Africa's reply.

South Africa will be reasonably happy with their finish, but India have got a massive total on the board. Rohit Sharma was exceptional with his strokeplay. Although he was slow to take off, he played some lovely shots all throughout the ground. Shikhar Dhawan failed, but Virat Kohli and Rohit shared a 138-run stand. Rohit became the second Indian batsman to score a hundred in all three formats before being dismissed by Kyle Abbott, who was the pick of the South African bowlers.

Dhoni 20(12) A Patel 2(3) Kyle Abbott 4-0-29-2

19.6 - Kyle Abbott to Dhoni, SIX, finally, Dhoni connects well and we all know that he knows how to finish it off in style. Full and in the slot, Abbott misses the yorker, Dhoni muscles it hard over long-on

19.5 - Kyle Abbott to A Patel, 1 run, full and just outside off stump, Patel mistimes the drive to long-on

19.4 - Kyle Abbott to A Patel, no run, short delivery on the stumps, Patel goes on the back foot and pulls but it was too quick for him

19.3 - Kyle Abbott to Dhoni, 1 run, just a single again, South Africa are doing well here towards the end. Length delivery on the stumps, Dhoni is late on the slog and the inside edge goes past the stumps and rolls to the right of short fine leg

19.2 - Kyle Abbott to A Patel, 1 run, low full toss from Abbott, Patel drives it to long-on

19.1 - Kyle Abbott to Dhoni, 1 run, full toss and instead of slicing it over backward point, Dhoni only manages to push it softly towards sweeper cover

Dhoni 12(9) A Patel 0(0) C Morris 4-0-46-1

18.6 - C Morris to Dhoni, 1 run, full from Morris, Dhoni drives it to long-on, more a mistimed shot but he'll keep the strike. Excellent over in the context of the game, just 7 came off it

18.5 - C Morris to Dhoni, FOUR, not convincing but Dhoni will take it. Full and in the slot, Dhoni advances and slogs, gets a thick inside edge that rolls through backward square leg and beats the fielders in the deep

Axar Patel, left handed bat, comes to the crease

18.4 - C Morris to Rayudu, out Rayudu Run Out!! What was Rayudu doing? Surely he had to go for the run with under two overs to go and Dhoni at the other end, he hesitated for a while and even a full length dive couldn't save him. Full ball from Morris, Rayudu digs it out to square leg, Dhoni always wanted the run and it was on, but Rayudu was late to take off and the bowler rushed back to the stumps to collect and disturb the stumps. Rayudu run out (Amla/C Morris) 0(1)

C Morris to Rayudu, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!

Looks like Rayudu is run-out. Third umpire has been called to check and he's gone.

Ambati Rayudu, right handed bat, comes to the crease

18.3 - C Morris to Raina, out Lbw!! Easy call for umpire Vineet Kulkarni. Full and on the stumps, Raina walks right across the stumps and tries to glance it fine, but misses and the ball hits him in line with middle stump. Good over from Morris so far, just two singles and the big wicket of Raina in 3 balls. Raina lbw b C Morris 14(8) [6s-2]

18.2 - C Morris to Dhoni, 1 run, once again very full from Morris, Dhoni mistimes the slog to the right of long-on

Raina 13(6) Dhoni 6(6) de Lange 4-0-47-0

17.6 - de Lange to Raina, 1 run, chipped in the airrrr and just short of the incoming long-off, David Miller rushed in but couldn't get there in time. He did well to prevent the boundary though

17.5 - de Lange to Raina, no run, Raina makes room but the bowler follows him with a fullish ball, Raina slogs and misses, the ball rolls to the keeper off the pad

17.4 - de Lange to Raina, SIX, that's bread and butter for Suresh Raina. He loves the mid-wicket area, so please don't bowl length balls to him. This was right in the slot and Raina slogs that over the mid-wicket boundary, didn't clear the rope by much though

17.3 - de Lange to Dhoni, 1 run, yorker length delivery outside off stump, Dhoni digs it out to backward point

17.2 - de Lange to Dhoni, no run, Dhoni tries to find the fine leg fence again but this time he misses. He moves across the stumps and tries to tickle it fine but gets beaten

17.1 - de Lange to Dhoni, FOUR, where is fine leg? Poor ball from de Lange, down the leg-side, Dhoni goes off-side and helps it on its way, fine leg was actually inside the ring but he was way too square

16.6 - Rabada to Raina, no run, dropped! Short of a length delivery on the stumps, Raina is cramped for room as he goes leg-side, tries to flat-bat it, doesn't get the timing right, the bowler tries to catch it with his right hand in his followthrough, but it pops out

16.5 - Rabada to Raina, SIX, top edge and it goes all the way. Short delivery on the stumps, Raina goes for the pull, luckily the edge flew over the man at short fine leg. Kohli tries to catch that beyond the rope but drops it as he goes with one hand

16.4 - Rabada to Raina, no run, back of a length and just down the leg-side, Raina moves across and tries to tickle it on its way but misses. The umpire doesn't call that a wide as it was too close to leg stump line

15.6 - Kyle Abbott to Rohit, out Caught by C Morris!! Top edgeeeee and Morris makes no mistake. How many times have we seen one bring two? Short delivery on the stumps, Rohit plays the pull shot, only manages to get a top edge, the ball goes high up in the air, fine leg settles under it and takes a wonderful catch. A big smile on Morris' face after completing the catch. Rohit gets a great round of applause as he walks back to the dressing room. Rohit c C Morris b Kyle Abbott 106(66) [4s-12 6s-5]

15.4 - Kyle Abbott to Rohit, no run, length ball from Abbott, Rohit swings and misses

Suresh Raina, left handed bat, comes to the crease

15.3 - Kyle Abbott to Kohli, out Caught by Duminy!! In the airrrr and gone, this time Duminy takes it. Shortish and angled in, Kohli goes on the back foot to pull, doesn't get the timing right as he was cramped for room and holes out to deep mid-wicket. End of a handy knock from Kohli and end of a sensational 74-ball 138-run stand. In fact, Duminy was actually running in, but realised that he had to go back and made the adjustment just in time to take it above his head. Kohli c Duminy b Kyle Abbott 43(27) [4s-1 6s-3]

Rohit 103(62) Kohli 42(25) de Lange 3-0-35-0

14.6 - de Lange to Rohit, SIX, wow! Just wow! What a shot to bring up the hundred. Rohit Sharma becomes the second player to record a hundred in India-South Africa T20Is. This is also the second hundred by an Indian in T20Is and he now becomes the second Indian batsman to score hundred in all three formats. This is the 9th hundred by a batsman in T20Is. Rohit raises his bat to the crowd and the dressing room. The entire Indian team stands and applauds. Full and just outside off stump, Rohit doesn't try to do anything fancy, just lofts it through the line over mid-off, didn't even try to hit it hard and it sailed a long way back over the boundary. The replay shows that Kohli hugged Rohit and patted him on the helmet for playing an exceptional knock

14.5 - de Lange to Rohit, FOUR, four more! He's now just a hit away from getting a hundred. The crowd is absolutely elated. Full and angling in, goes down the leg-side as well, easy picking for the batsman and Rohit flicks it through backward square leg beating long leg

14.5 - de Lange to Rohit, wide, short and down the leg-side, Rohit ducks under it

14.4 - de Lange to Kohli, 1 run, full and outside off stump, Kohli slices the lofted drive, Duminy drops the catch at sweeper cover but anyway it wouldn't have counted as it was a free-hit

14.4 - de Lange to Rohit, no ball, 1 run, this is a high full toss at 142kph and it's called a no ball for height straightaway. It was above waist height. Rohit manages to pull it over the square leg umpire. Rohit signals to his partner that the next ball is a free-hit. de Lange immediately apologized to the batsman after bowling the ball

14.3 - de Lange to Kohli, 1 run, nice and full, driven straight down the ground

14.3 - de Lange to Kohli, wide, Kohli is angry with himself for missing out on a freebie. Shortish and down the leg-side, Kohli tries to help it on its way but misses

13.5 - C Morris to Rohit, 1 run, tries the yorker but doesn't quite get it right, Rohit drives it towards deep mid-wicket. With this single, Rohit records his highest score in T20Is

13.4 - C Morris to Rohit, FOUR, four more. Rohit Sharma moves into the 90s now. Short of a length delivery on the off stump, Rohit rocks on the back foot and pulls, more off the inside half of the bat and it goes through backward square leg

13.3 - C Morris to Rohit, FOUR, oh the fielders aren't helping Morris either. This should have been just a single but JP Duminy has fumbled and it escapes for four. Low full toss angling in, Rohit helps it to long leg

13.2 - C Morris to Rohit, no run, excellent inswinging yorker from Morris, Rohit digs it out, good delivery from Morris, who has been very expensive so far

During the break, AB de Villiers had a chat with both the batsmen to calm things down. Rohit has a couple of things to say, but there seems to be mutual respect. They shake hands and are on their way again.

13.1 - C Morris to Kohli, 1 run, short of length delivery on the off stump, Kohli punches it to long-on

12.6 - Rabada to Rohit, no run, beaten again. Shortish delivery from Rabada, Rohit plays the pull and misses

12.5 - Rabada to Rohit, no run, beaten! Oh some words being exchanged between the bowler and the batsman. Short of a length delivery hurrying the batsman, Rohit was late on the pull, Rabada has a few words with Rohit and the batsman asks him to go back to his mark

12.4 - Rabada to Rohit, SIX, slower ball and baaaang! Rabada took pace off the ball this time but banged it short, sat up nicely for the batsman and Rohit didn't miss out. He pulled off the back foot and even though the ball didn't hit the sweet spot of the bat, it cleared the deep mid-wicket fence

12.3 - Rabada to Kohli, 1 run, short of length delivery on the off stump, Kohli tucks it to mid-wicket

12.2 - Rabada to Rohit, 1 run, fullish and outside off stump, Rohit gets a thick outside edge that rolls towards third man. 100 partnership comes up with that single

12.1 - Rabada to Rohit, SIX, my word! What a shot. That ball went into the second tier. This is a juicy full ball from Rabada, Rohit waits for the ball to come and muscles the loft, doesn't bother to move after playing the shot and watches the ball all the way into the stands

Kagiso Rabada [2.0-0-10-0] is back into the attack

Oops! Rohit pulls out as Rabada was running in. Looks like there was some disturbance behind the bowler's arm. Meanwhile, Faf checks with the umpire if their over-rate is alright.

11.5 - Tahir to Kohli, 1 run, flighted delivery just outside off stump, Kohli dabs it to point, the fielder dives to his right and makes a good stop

11.4 - Tahir to Kohli, SIX, this is the third time Kohli has teased a fielder in the deep and got a six. This is a flat hit from Kohli. Fast and full outside off stump, Kohli loft-drives it hard, it didn't have enough height on this but the ball cleared the leaping fielder at long-off

11.3 - Tahir to Kohli, SIX, now Kohli slogs, the sound wasn't right when the ball hit the bat, but it's good enough to just clear the man at deep mid-wicket. 1000 runs for Kohli in T20Is. Flighted delivery on the stumps, Kohli mistimes it completely, deep mid-wicket jumps but the ball evades him

11.2 - Tahir to Rohit, 1 run, googly on the leg stump, Rohit works it to short fine leg

11.1 - Tahir to Rohit, SIX, oh where has that gone? Is that out of the ground? What a way to bring up the 100 for India. Full ball around leg stump line, Rohit clears his front leg out of the way and slogs it high over the mid-wicket boundary

Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers call in Imran Tahir for a quick chat. The trio has a quick chat before joining the SA huddle. JP Duminy replaces Tahir in the attack immediately after.

Rabada misses the yorker and bowls a low full toss, Dhawan drives it to the right of de Lange at mid-off. The fielder fumbles and Rohit called for the second, Dhawan wasn't fully ready, the throw came adjacent to the stumps and the keeper made no mistake. Even a full length dive wasn't good enough for Dhawan. No wonder why ABdV was confident. In fact, the replay shows that Dhawan actually put his hand out to stop Rohit, but his partner simply did not listen. Dhawan run out (de Lange/de Villiers) 3(4)

Rabada to Dhawan, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!

Is Shikhar Dhawan run-out? AB de Villiers seems very confident. Oh this is very, very close. The keeper hits the stumps when Dhawan's bat is on the line, but have the bails fully come off before Dhawan's bat crossed the line? OUT is the call and Dhawan has to go.

Just a slip in place for de Lange. Backward point, cover-point, cover and mid-off on the off-side

Second slip goes out to short cover

1.5 - Rabada to Rohit, FOUR, driven on the rise and there's a big gap at cover. Lovely timing from Rohit Sharma and he gets his second boundary. A lot of width on offer on this length ball, Rohit frees his arms and drives from the middle of the bat splitting mid-off and cover to perfection

1.4 - Rabada to Rohit, no run, fullish and outside off stump, asking Rohit to drive away from the body but the batsman lets it go

0.6 - Kyle Abbott to Rohit, no run, good length delivery outside off stump, Rohit pushes it to cover-point, they think about a run and decide against it

0.5 - Kyle Abbott to Rohit, FOUR, not convincing but Rohit and India will take it. Fullish and swinging away outside off stump, Rohit goes hard at the drive, gets a thick outside edge that flies to the left of backward point and beats third man

0.4 - Kyle Abbott to Rohit, no run, hugeeee appeal for LBW, not given. Oh there could be a run-out but Rohit is back. Clever bowling from Abbott, after bowling outswingers, he angles this length ball into the right-hander, Rohit plays across the line in trying to work it wide of mid-on, misses and gets hit in line with off stump, but height was an issue there and he survived. He then looks for a cheeky single, but Dhawan sends him back, the fielder rushes from cover and has a shy at the striker's end and misses. Rohit dived full length to make his ground

0.3 - Kyle Abbott to Rohit, no run, fullish in length this time, Rohit defends into the off-side

0.2 - Kyle Abbott to Rohit, no run, poor shot from the Indian opener. That was more a half-hearted shot. Short of a length and shaping away, Rohit wasn't fully sure about his cut, ended up playing a lazy dab and the ball flew past the outside edge

0.1 - Kyle Abbott to Rohit, no run, gentle outswing on this length ball, but it's well outside off stump and Rohit lets it go

Rohit and Dhawan are at the crease. Rohit is on strike. Kyle Abbott will open the attack

So, South Africa hold the upper hand in this 3-match T20I series. India will now look to bounce back when these two sides square off in the second T20I in Cuttack. On the other hand, South Africa will go there and look to take an unassailable 2-0 lead. Don't forget to join us for that game on Monday.

Duminy: 'One of my best innings. We knew it was going to be a tough total to chase, probably just above par. We got a good start as well and that helped us. We waited for some time before taking the bowlers on. I knew if it was in my arc, I had to go for it. We knew that if we get it down to 10-11 runs per over in the final few overs, we could do it. With a small ground and the ball travelling a lot more because of the conditions, we knew we could take this total down. It's a long tour for us and hopefully, we can continue playing like this.'

JP Duminy is the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 34-ball 68

du Plessis: 'It (the outfield) got really wet towards the end. What a game for both teams, the perfect start to the tour. Chasing 200 is a great thing at the start of the tour. Today was one of those days where the bowlers were under the pump. The way our bowlers pulled things back towards the end was great to watch. Duminy is a very experienced batsman, he played brilliantly and was well supported by Behardien.'

Dhoni: 'I think we had something close to a par total, maybe just above par. The ground though is not that big. Also, since it's in the mountains, the ball travels a lot more in the air. It was a score that we had to bowl well to defend. We gave too many runs. If you're giving anything above 20 in an over, it puts you under a lot of pressure. I thought we were unfortunate not to get Duminy early. He batted really well later on. It was quite tough for the bowlers and that's why we played with five specialist bowlers. Axar Patel did go for some runs, he usually bowls really well and hopefully he will do better in the next game. You need to choke the opposition, you need to make it tough for them. We couldn't do that today, despite having 200 runs on the board.'

The fears were confirmed when de Villiers and Amla came out firing on all cylinders. 50 was up in no time and the pacers were hiding for cover. It was only when spin was introduced - Ashwin in particular - that Dhoni managed to assert some control as both the openers were dismissed quickly. But just when the required rate threatened to slip out of control, came the huge Axar Patel over. Duminy belted him for 3 sixes and put the visitors in the box seat. The southpaw kicked on and finished the job for the Proteas, smashing a quickfire half-century.

Well played Jean Paul Duminy! Ice-cold under pressure and takes his team over the line. Some of his ball-striking was just awe-inspiring and the ball kept disappearing into the night sky. So, after the bloodbath in godly Dharamsala where the bowlers were mere offerings to the butchering lord, it is the visitors who are standing tall having scaled the 200-run mountain. Also means that Rohit Sharma's magical ton goes in vain. At the halfway stage, it looked like the South African bowlers had done a good job in pulling things back towards the fag end of the Indian innings and the home side were just about par on this belter, not to forget the diminutive straight boundaries and the dew factor.

19.4 - Aravind to Duminy, 1 run, South Africa go 1-0 up! This is the first time South Africa have chased down a total against India in a T20I. Duminy has been the star of the show and it was only fitting that he finished it off for his team. He pumps the air in delight and hugs his partner. Coming back to the ball, this was full and just outside off, Duminy comes across and clips it down to long-on for a single

19.3 - Aravind to Duminy, SIX, a full toss and it has been sent to the cleaners. 100 of the partnership also comes up and the scores are level. Aravind tries to bowl the yorker but misses his length by a long way. Duminy swings hard and sends it over the cow corner fence for another six, his seventh of the innings

19.2 - Aravind to Duminy, 2 runs, another yorker length delivery around the off stump, Duminy digs it out and the ball dribbles away in front of long-off, the batsmen have ample time to come back for the second before Kohli fires the throw at the striker's end

19.1 - Aravind to Behardien, 1 run, yorker length delivery on the stumps, Behardien jams it out to long-on and gives the strike back to Duminy

18.6 - Bhuvneshwar to Behardien, 1 run, Behardien makes room and Bhuvi follows him with a short delivery, he tries to pull it away but drags it back onto his pad off the inside half of the bat, the batsmen take a single as the ball rolls away into the off-side

18.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Duminy, 1 run, another shortish ball from Bhuvi, Duminy goes for the pull but drags it behind square on the on-side off the inside half of the bat, only a single taken before the fielder runs to his right in the deep and cuts it off

Surely, South Africa have the game in the bag now, with 12 needed from 8 balls. Can India pull off a miraculous victory? Let's find out.

18.4 - Bhuvneshwar to Behardien, leg byes, 1 run, short of length delivery angling in on leg stump line, Behardien comes on the front foot and misses the pull, wears it around the hip area. The batsmen sneak in a leg bye but Behardien looks in some pain. The 12th man walks out with some drinks for the batsmen

18.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Duminy, 1 run, banged in short and on the stumps, Duminy tries to pull it away but can't get his timing right, the ball rolls away to the left of mid-wicket and the batsmen take a single

18.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Duminy, SIX, Bhuvi misses the yorker and has been deposited into the stands. A full toss and Duminy just clubs it over the deep mid-wicket fence. That came right off the meaty part and no one was ever going to stop that

18.1 - Bhuvneshwar to Duminy, FOUR, 8th T20I fifty for Duminy. This is also his first boundary in this innings, after hitting 5 sixes. Bhuvi went for the yorker on this occasion, Duminy took it on the full and drove it back past the bowler, long-on runs to his right, puts in the dive but the ball escapes through to the fence

17.5 - Mohit Sharma to Duminy, 2 runs, this time Kohli can't prevent the batsmen from taking two. Yorker length ball on the stumps, Duminy jams it out in front of long-on, the batsmen hurry back for the second and get it easily as Kohli had to run in a long way from the boundary rope

17.4 - Mohit Sharma to Behardien, 1 run, slower length delivery outside off, Behardien lofts it to the left of long-off, Kohli quickly moves across, picks the ball quickly and releases it quickly too to prevent the batsmen from taking the second

17.3 - Mohit Sharma to Behardien, no run, full delivery well wide outside off, Behardien goes hard on the drive, ends up getting an outside edge that falls right in front of Dhoni

17.2 - Mohit Sharma to Duminy, leg byes, 1 run, just short of a good length and around off, it was the slower one from Mohit, Duminy tries to play across the line and misses it completely, the batsmen sneak in a leg bye as the ball rolls away into the on-side. There was an appeal for lbw from the bowler, but the umpire wasn't interested as the ball pitched outside leg

17.1 - Mohit Sharma to Duminy, SIX, Duminy is taking the game away from the Indians. This was very full and just outside off, all Duminy had to do was to loft it through the line, he does exactly that and clears the leaping fielder at long-off. Great start to the over for South Africa

16.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Duminy, 2 runs, this one's fuller and around off, Duminy goes hard at the ball, ends up dragging it behind square on the on-side off the inside half of the bat, the batsmen take a couple before the ball is hunted down

16.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Duminy, leg byes, 2 runs, Bhuvneshwar is not happy with the umpire's call. Looked like a very close appeal for lbw. Looked plumb to me. It was the yorker right at the base of middle stump, Duminy fails to work it away and gets hit in line with middle, the ball rolls away to the right of short third man and the batsmen take two leg byes. Replays show that the ball was cannoning into the middle stump. Duminy is lucky to be still out there

Duminy had to hurry back to get inside the crease. A very expensive over from Patel, 22 runs came off it

15.5 - A Patel to Duminy, SIX, this is poor bowling from Patel and South Africa are right back in this game. Third consecutive six for Duminy. It was short and well wide outside off, Duminy goes back and across, waits for the ball to arrive and nails the pull over the deep mid-wicket fence
