Due to some technical problems, we are unable to cover live matches on our site and app. We are working on it and will be back soon. Please stay tuned for more.

Welcome back.. India are in a huddle. MS does all the talking. Can India defend 146? Out come the two openers, Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Mithun. Nehra has the ball.. One slip in place.

Live visuals show expatriates dressed in Indian jerseys with their faces painted with the tri-color. Wonder whether they understand this unique game. Still good to see them come out and enjoy themselves. Even our very own - Sriram Konanur was spotted at the ground with the India jersey. Cheering wildly when Dhawan hit a six. Doesn't take much for him to break into a chat and a smile. Will be full of stories tomorrow when he comes back. On that note, I allow myself a breather and hand over the comm duties to my other esteemed colleagues...

Pandya, promoted up the order in front of Yuvraj and Dhoni, looked like launching Bangladesh out of the match before his blitz was cut short by a stunning catch from Sarkar. After that the boundaries dried up completely with the last 5 overs producing only 34 runs. All of Bangladesh's bowlers chipped in and never let things drift out of control. Looks a competitive total though on a tough pitch. It's game on!

After being put into bat, India started cautiously, and the first 5 overs went through without incident. But the sixth one was a complete contradiction - a rebellious spike in a calm graph. Mustafizur got carted for a couple of sixes, before hitting back and getting rid of Rohit, and later Dhawan fell to Shakib - thereby keeping his spot hanging in jeopardy. Kohli too didn't look himself as the pitch held up, turned, didn't bounce and made stroke-making difficult. Still, in front of a raucous home crowd, India felt obliged to turn it on. And that led to more wickets.

The first ball of the second over was bowled by Shuvagata Hom. Hom is someone who can be dangerous with the slider, especially with the new ball against the left-hander. So when Dhawan plonked his foot out and saw it turn square past him, he looked bemused. Or alarmed. He would have hoped for a pitch more hospitable to end his wretched run of form. Not to be.

Over: 20 W 4 1 2 0 2 IND 146/7
Dhoni 13(12) Ashwin 5(2) Mustafizur 4-0-34-2

19.6 - Mustafizur to Dhoni, 2 runs, had the throw come to the bowler's end, Ashwin was gone. But the fielder makes a meal by sending it to Dhoni's end. Dhoni was always going for the second. Ashwin isn't sure, he is watching and waiting. What is he thinking? Just put your head down and run! That's what Dhoni did. He didn't care if he was run out. Thankfully for Ashwin's sake, the throw didn't come to his end. He is a poor runner between the wickets and looked lazy and happy with just one. Who knows, in a T20I, even that last ball extra run could potentially win or lose you the game

19.5 - Mustafizur to Dhoni, no run, and straight to mid-off. Shakib smiles. Maybe he was the one who suggested that innovative field placing. Low full toss on the stumps, drilled to mid-off. Dhoni wants the strike and sends Ashwin back

Deep cover in place. Mid-off in

19.4 - Mustafizur to Dhoni, 2 runs, low full toss outside off, Dhoni sliced that to deep cover. Almost lost balance as he played that, but it was totally mistimed. But enough to come back for two

19.3 - Mustafizur to Ashwin, 1 run, full and following Ashwin as he backed away, he nutmegs himself with a thick inside edge, fine leg fields and the crowd cheer as Dhoni is on strike

19.2 - Mustafizur to Ashwin, FOUR, poor delivery, cutter down leg, Ashwin plays the fine leg-glance. A Test match stroke played in a T20I. Still works though and beats fine leg easily. Ashwin is off the mark with a four. He and Dhoni have a chat

Ravichandran Ashwin, right handed bat, comes to the crease

19.1 - Mustafizur to Ravindra Jadeja, out Bowled!! The off stump is a mess. Full, fast and on off, Ravindra Jadeja slogs and misses. May have rolled his fingers on that as well. So Mustafizur begins well and so Dhoni stays at the other end. Ravindra Jadeja b Mustafizur 12(8) [4s-2]

Mustafizur to Ravindra Jadeja, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

Over: 19 0 4 1L 4 4 1 IND 137/6
Ravindra Jadeja 12(7) Dhoni 9(9) Al-Amin 4-0-37-2

18.6 - Al-Amin to Ravindra Jadeja, 1 run, back over the wicket, a short ball on the stumps, pulled straight to the fielder at deep square leg, just a single

Crowd chanting "We want six, we want six." So easy to say. Very difficult to do. There is my cliche - inspired by you know who! You should get it without me giving a hint

18.5 - Al-Amin to Ravindra Jadeja, FOUR, consecutive fours for Ravindra Jadeja. Al-Amin grimaces. While Shakib is not happy with the field setting. Slower short ball on the stumps, sits up for Jadeja to be pulled away, he does so, getting it behind square, beating the fielder inside the ring. He rolled his wrists on that and kept it along the ground too. The crowd are back to their full voices now

18.4 - Al-Amin to Ravindra Jadeja, FOUR, glove love between Ravindra Jadeja and Dhoni. This was a low full toss outside off, Jadeja opened the bat face on that and then sliced that wide of point. Well wide of sweeper cover. India needed that boundary. The key was opening of the bat face and that's what Jadeja did expertly well there

18.3 - Al-Amin to Dhoni, leg byes, 1 run, a low full toss down leg and Dhoni has missed out. He is cursing himself. Rare show of emotion from him. He usually is very stoic. Knew that he had missed out on a four scoring opportunity. The ball runs behind square off the thigh pad

Lots of changes in the field

18.2 - Al-Amin to Dhoni, FOUR, look at Dhoni. Look at him doing a 360 degree body swing. It was full and outside off, Dhoni reached out and slammed it over cover. Almost swung himself off his feet. Such was the ferociousness of his bat swing. Gave it his all and the ball sped away to the fence. A mini helicopter that. Need more of those though

18.1 - Al-Amin to Dhoni, no run, brilliant yorker on off, Dhoni digs it out back to the bowler. Can't do much with that

Al-Amin Hossain [3.0-0-24-2] is back into the attack

Over: 18 1 2 0 1 1 0 IND 123/6
Ravindra Jadeja 3(4) Dhoni 5(6) Mustafizur 3-0-25-1

17.6 - Mustafizur to Ravindra Jadeja, no run, very good bowling this. Speared in the yorker on off, Ravindra Jadeja digs it out back to the bowler. Nothing Jadeja can do when the ball is bowled in the blockhole

17.5 - Mustafizur to Dhoni, 1 run, slower delivery down leg, nudged to short fine leg, for a single. 1000 runs for Mahendra Singh Dhoni in T20Is

17.4 - Mustafizur to Ravindra Jadeja, 1 run, low full toss on the stumps, Ravindra Jadeja gets forward and drives to long-on

17.3 - Mustafizur to Ravindra Jadeja, no run, good yorker on off. Ravindra Jadeja digs it out and this time Dhoni refuses the single as Mustafizur rushes forward to stop the ball

17.2 - Mustafizur to Ravindra Jadeja, 2 runs, what running from Dhoni. He strolled back for the second and made it easily. Low full toss outside off, Ravindra Jadeja stroked it to deep cover. Dhoni knew that it was two and took on the fielder before rushing back

Short fine goes back

17.1 - Mustafizur to Dhoni, 1 run, full outside off, Dhoni uses his bottom hand and pushes in the gap to sweeper cover, for a single

Mustafizur Rahman [2.0-0-20-1] is back into the attack

Over: 17 1 1 0 1 W 1 IND 118/6
Dhoni 3(4) Ravindra Jadeja 0(0) Mahmudullah 1-0-4-1

16.6 - Mahmudullah to Dhoni, 1 run, nudged to deep mid-wicket for a single that keeps Dhoni on strike for the next over

Ravindra Jadeja, left handed bat, comes to the crease

16.5 - Mahmudullah to Yuvraj, out Caught by Al-Amin!! The reaction of my colleague - Mani says it all. Maybe he has Yuvraj in his fantasy team. He for sure loves his fantasy. Obsessed by it in fact. He just entered the room and Yuvraj is gone. As soon as the ball went off the top edge and was caught at short fine, Mani grimaced with a weird expression, as if he was batting instead of Yuvi. Yuvraj completely deceived by the slowness of that ball and was early into the swipe to leg, since the ball held up, Yuvraj couldn't change his stroke. Straight off the top edge and a dolly to short fine. That's another big wicket. Yuvraj c Al-Amin b Mahmudullah 3(6)

Mahmudullah to Yuvraj, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

16.4 - Mahmudullah to Dhoni, 1 run, quick and outside off, slapped to deep extra cover

16.3 - Mahmudullah to Dhoni, no run, flat and outside off, punched back to the bowler who dives to his left to save the run

Now over the wicket

16.2 - Mahmudullah to Yuvraj, 1 run, flat outside off, Yuvraj rocks back and cuts to sweeper cover

16.1 - Mahmudullah to Dhoni, 1 run, flat and on the stumps, turning in, Dhoni rocks back and pushes it through mid-wicket. Wanted two but Yuvraj is happy with one

Mahmudullah, right-arm off break, comes into the attack

Over: 16 W W 2 0 0 0 IND 114/5
Yuvraj 2(4) Dhoni 0(0) Al-Amin 3-0-24-2

15.6 - Al-Amin to Yuvraj, no run, three dots in a row. Full and outside off, Yuvraj went for a big drive over cover and missed. The ball snuck under his bat

15.5 - Al-Amin to Yuvraj, no run, and again. This is the line to be bowling to Yuvraj first up. Again on a fuller length, outside off, angled across, Yuvraj tries the same shot - a dab to third man and doesn't make contact

15.4 - Al-Amin to Yuvraj, no run, angled across Yuvraj on a fuller length, he looks to run it down to third man and misses

15.3 - Al-Amin to Yuvraj, 2 runs, hat-trick ball is a poor one. Short down leg, helped down to fine leg where Mash makes a meal of it and then has to dive forward to pull it back. Kept it to two

Yuvraj Singh, left handed bat, comes to the crease

15.2 - Al-Amin to Pandya, out Caught by Soumya Sarkar!! Wow! Unbelievable catch. How has he pulled that off? He caught one against Pakistan the other day and now this is 10 times better than that. Pandya can't believe his luck but he has to go. He hit that well, another short of length slower ball, Pandya timed the pull and it was destined to head to the fence, but Sarkar running to his left at deep square leg, stuck his left-hand out on the run and the ball stuck. He was parallel to the ground when he took that. It took a while for the Bangladeshis to realise that Sarkar had taken the catch and then they rushed to him to celebrate. Sarkar used his long reach and those catches either stick or they don't. Has to be in the top 5 catches of the tournament. Al-Amin now on hat-trick. Not a wicket-taking delivery but the brilliance of Sarkar has pulled off a wicket from nowhere. Pandya c Soumya Sarkar b Al-Amin 15(7) [4s-2 6s-1]

Al-Amin to Pandya, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

MS Dhoni, right handed bat, comes to the crease

15.1 - Al-Amin to Raina, out Caught by S Rahman!! Raina falls to the short ball. The crowd are cheering! Who is coming in next? Yuvi or Mahendra Singh Dhoni? Still don't know who. Anyway coming to the wicket delivery, Al-Amin bowled the slower cutter on a short of length, held up on the pitch and Raina could only lob the pull towards an on-rushing deep mid-wicket. Easily held. Raina had struggled for timing all night and never looked settled despite making 30. Raina c S Rahman b Al-Amin 30(23) [4s-1 6s-2]

Al-Amin to Raina, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

Al-Amin Hossain [2.0-0-22-0] is back into the attack

Over: 15 1 1 1 0 4 4 IND 112/3
Pandya 15(6) Raina 30(22) Shakib 4-0-23-1

14.6 - Shakib to Pandya, FOUR, Pandya has been sent with a license to throw his bat. Comes down the track and takes it on the full, sliced over cover and once he got it over the fielder, it was four all the way. Suddenly the Bangladeshis are under pressure. Pandya's move to bat ahead of Yuvi and Mahendra Singh Dhoni so far working

14.5 - Shakib to Pandya, FOUR, Shakib puts his head back. Long-on was too wide for him to have a chance. Uses his feet and takes it on the full, hit wide of Raina and since the fielder was wide, he had no chance of cutting that off

14.4 - Shakib to Pandya, no run, low full toss outside off, Pandya drives and finds cover. Should've hit the gap

14.3 - Shakib to Raina, 1 run, well bowled! Knows Raina will charge and kept angling it across on a yorker length, Raina had to reach out and dug it out to backward point. Had he missed that, Rahim would've been in business

14.2 - Shakib to Pandya, 1 run, following Pandya from round the wicket, gently pushed to long-on

14.1 - Shakib to Raina, 1 run, Shakib knows he has got away with one there. Wears a wry smile on his face. Bad full toss down leg, with short fine leg inside the circle. Raina swipes it straight to the fielder. Either side of the man and it would've been four

Over: 14 4 1 6 W 0 6 IND 101/3
Pandya 6(2) Raina 28(20) Shuvagata 3-0-24-1

13.6 - Shuvagata to Pandya, SIX, so that's why Pandya has come ahead of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He can strike them cleanly. And off the second ball he has sent one into the lower tier at deep mid-wicket. Sliding on the legs, Pandya clouted that meatily and went all the way. A confidence boosting hit from Pandya

13.5 - Shuvagata to Pandya, no run, flat and quick on off, Pandya presses forward to block

Hardik Pandya, right handed bat, comes to the crease

13.4 - Shuvagata to Kohli, out Bowled!! No! He falls next ball. "The mute button has been pressed at the Chinnaswamy here" says Sanjay M on air. Utter disbelief from the crowd on seeing their loved one go. Shuvagata pumps his fist in delight. This was bowled quicker and on the stumps, Kohli aimed for a big slog to leg and missed. The stumps are a mess behind him. Rarely does Kohli miss straight balls, but this time he has done so. So that drop catch hasn't cost Bangladesh very much. Kohli b Shuvagata 24(24) [6s-1]

Shuvagata to Kohli, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

13.3 - Shuvagata to Kohli, SIX, rubbish delivery and heaved for six. Low full toss on the stumps, Kohli tonks it flat and wide of deep mid-wicket, a skimmer and clears the ropes on the full. Will that get Kohli going?

13.2 - Shuvagata to Raina, 1 run, yorker length outside off, Raina digs it out through extra cover

13.1 - Shuvagata to Raina, FOUR, that's Raina at his best. Use of the feet and to the pitch of the ball, still not off the meat of the blade, off the bottom of the bat but he goes back over Shuvagata's head and that races away to the straight boundary. Good start to the over

Shuvagata Hom [2.0-0-7-0] is back into the attack

Over: 13 1 1 1 0 1 1 IND 84/2
Raina 23(18) Kohli 18(22) Shakib 3-0-12-1

12.6 - Shakib to Raina, 1 run, very full on Raina's legs, clipped to deep mid-wicket

12.5 - Shakib to Kohli, 1 run, again well-bowled. Shakib is darting in the yorkers despite Kohli using his feet. He drills it with lots of bottom hand and the ball deflects off Raina to long-on

12.4 - Shakib to Kohli, no run, Kohli uses his feet and Shakib fired in the yorker, Kohli digs it out back to the bowler

12.3 - Shakib to Raina, 1 run, it has come off the outside edge. So the bat change hasn't worked straightaway. But good fielding from short third man, keeps it to one. Dived and pushed it back

Another bat change for Raina. Let's see whether that works

12.2 - Shakib to Kohli, 1 run, following Kohli as he made room, flicked to long-on

12.1 - Shakib to Raina, 1 run, full on the stumps, Raina heaves it off the inner half, again not well-timed, doesn't carry to the fielder. A slight fumble by Sarkar at long-on but its only a single

Shakib Al Hasan [2.0-0-7-1] is back into the attack

Over: 12 0 2 1 1 1 1 IND 79/2
Raina 20(15) Kohli 16(19) Mortaza 4-0-22-0

11.6 - Mortaza to Raina, 1 run, that's a top effort from Mithun at backward point. His mates high-five him. Raina backed away and punched that to the right of Mithun and he dove full-length to make the stop. If the ball had passed him, would've been four. Saved three there

11.5 - Mortaza to Kohli, 1 run, back of a length outside off, slapped off the back foot to long-off

11.4 - Mortaza to Raina, 1 run, fullish outside off, Raina is looking to go over cover, but the ball holds up a touch, dragged off the inside half of the bat and down to deep mid-wicket

11.3 - Mortaza to Kohli, 1 run, yet again Kohli rocks back and pulls, but straight to the fielder at deep mid-wicket

11.2 - Mortaza to Kohli, 2 runs, short of length outside off, short-arm pulled between mid-wicket and long-on, placed in the gap and two it is

11.1 - Mortaza to Kohli, no run, Kohli backs away and dabs the cut straight to the fielder at point

Over: 11 1 1 0 6 6 0 IND 73/2
Raina 18(13) Kohli 12(15) Al-Amin 2-0-22-0

10.6 - Al-Amin to Raina, no run, backs away and tries to go over cover. Is too far out of his reach and is beaten. The ball was angled across by Al-Amin

10.5 - Al-Amin to Raina, SIX, that's cleanly struck. The first one that Raina has timed today. Stays on the front foot and clears his front leg, expects the short ball and whacks it flat over deep mid-wicket. So consecutive sixes and the crowd find their voice. Raina expected that and pulled it meatily

10.4 - Al-Amin to Raina, SIX, in the air and its six. Hom was the fielder at deep square leg. Raina short-arm jabbed that and looked like he didn't have the distance to clear the fielder. But Bengaluru is a small ground, and the ball flies. Any other ground it would've been caught. Hom was at the edge of the boundary, got both hands to it, but parried it over

10.3 - Al-Amin to Raina, no run, short ball, pacy one too, Raina hooks and misses. Not called a wide

10.2 - Al-Amin to Kohli, 1 run, dropped by Al-Amin! He isn't a great fielder. And he has shelled that. Kohli came down the track and was beaten by the sharpness of that back of a length delivery, it hurried on to him and it went back to the bowler off the splice, Al-Amin stuck his right-hand out and it didn't stick. The ball wasn't travelling too. Al-Amin wasn't expecting that and that's what can happen if you aren't in a position to anticipate. Will Bangladesh regret that drop?

Good captaincy by Mash. He has changed the bowling around, not giving any of his mates more than an over at a stretch. He knows that by changing the bowling around constantly, the batsmen can't line up a single bowler. So far Bangladesh have done really well but they need to get Kohli out. For everyone knows what Kohli can do

10.1 - Al-Amin to Raina, 1 run, now backs away and thrashes a length delivery on the stumps to deep cover. That was well-timed but straight to the fielder

Al-Amin Hossain [1.0-0-8-0] is back into the attack

Over: 10 1 1 1 2 1 1 IND 59/2
Raina 5(8) Kohli 11(14) Mortaza 3-0-16-0

9.6 - Mortaza to Raina, 1 run, Raina is having a torrid time out there. He is trying his best but he looks desperately out of touch. Races down the wicket, a mistimed loft off a slower delivery down leg, since it was mistimed, it didn't carry to long-on

9.5 - Mortaza to Kohli, 1 run, back of a length around off, Kohli dabs with the bat close to his body, run down to short third man

Rahim is now up to the stumps

9.4 - Mortaza to Kohli, 2 runs, now Kohli uses his feet and punches to the left of extra cover. The fielder at sweeper did well to run across and tumble. Saved two there

9.3 - Mortaza to Raina, 1 run, Raina is in a terrible tangle there. Pre-meditates the shot and is completely deceived by the slower delivery, in the end he awkwardly helps it to short fine leg. Looked out of sorts there

This isn't a typical Bengaluru wicket. This is stopping and holding up. A total of 150-160 will be tough to chase. Expect Ashwin and Jadeja to have a ball for this pitch suits them very well. No explanation as to why the Bengaluru pitch is playing like this. There has been no rain for the last fortnight and the sun has blazed away. So surprising to see the pitch behave like this

9.2 - Mortaza to Kohli, 1 run, fullish outside off, Kohli thrashes the square drive square of the wicket, for a single

9.1 - Mortaza to Raina, 1 run, so nearly holed out. On a short of length and angling across Raina who employs the short-arm pull, it went to deep square, Mahmudullah was the fielder and just short of him as he ran in

Over: 9 1 0 2 0 0 0 IND 52/2
Kohli 7(11) Raina 2(5) Shuvagata 2-0-7-0

8.6 - Shuvagata to Kohli, no run, on the middle and leg line, Kohli finds mid-wicket once again

8.5 - Shuvagata to Kohli, no run, clipped straight to the fielder at mid-wicket

8.4 - Shuvagata to Kohli, no run, well bowled. Shuvagata beats Kohli in the air and off the pitch too. Kohli isn't to the pitch as he went for a lofted hit. Drags it off the inside half to mid-wicket

8.3 - Shuvagata to Kohli, 2 runs, "Mash, Mash" shrieks Rahim as soon as Kohli nudged that off the back foot. The Indians were looking for two all the while as the ball went to deep square leg. Mash chased it and threw off-balance to the bowler. Raina was struggling and would've been out with a direct hit. Despite a full-length dive

Replays for that Dhawan dismissal show that the ball was angling across and going on to clip off. Umpire's call

8.2 - Shuvagata to Kohli, no run, stays round the wicket and it is on the stumps, clipped to mid-wicket

8.1 - Shuvagata to Raina, 1 run, punched to the right of cover. Had Mash picked it up cleanly, could've been interesting. But the captain didn't and the batsmen make it easily

Shuvagata Hom [1.0-0-4-0] is back into the attack

7.6 - Mortaza to Raina, 1 run, Raina is off the mark with a clip off the hips to deep square leg

7.5 - Mortaza to Raina, no run, length delivery on middle, Raina plays with an open stance and his dab finds point

7.4 - Mortaza to Raina, no run, a nervy poke. Fullish and angled across Raina, who is on the walk, lucky not to have edged that. Very poor footwork from a tentative Raina

7.3 - Mortaza to Raina, no run, short of length and angled across Raina, who hops and defends to point

7.2 - Mortaza to Kohli, 1 run, fullish on off, Kohli gets forward and drives to long-on

7.1 - Mortaza to Kohli, 2 runs, short of length on the hips, Kohli plays his trademark clip to deep backward square leg, the fielder had to tumble across and did so

Dhawan 23(22) Kohli 2(4) Shakib 2-0-7-1

6.6 - Shakib to Dhawan, out Lbw!! Look at that appeal. "Aaahhhhhhh, aaahhhhhh" go both Shakib and Rahim. Not a "howzatttt" and that appeal is frightening enough for Oxenford to raise the finger. For Shakib was right at his face with fingers pointed at him. If he had got any closer, may have poked him straight in the eye. Jokes apart, it was plumb. That's what matters. It was fired in quick on the middle and leg line, Dhawan yorked himself on the flick, played all around it and missed. Would've gone onto hit leg at worst. The only thing that could've saved Dhawan was if it had pitched outside leg. It didn't. Replays for that Dhawan dismissal show that the ball was angling across and going on to clip off. Umpire's call. Dhawan lbw b Shakib 23(22) [4s-2 6s-1]

Shakib to Dhawan, THAT'S OUT!! Lbw!!

6.5 - Shakib to Kohli, 1 run, Shakib isn't flighting the ball, Kohli goes on the back foot, wristed to long-on

6.4 - Shakib to Dhawan, 1 run, flattish and sliding across Dhawan who rocks back and clips a single to deep mid-wicket

6.3 - Shakib to Kohli, 1 run, again flat outside off, Kohli rocks back and punches it square of the wicket, is off the mark with a single

6.2 - Shakib to Kohli, no run, flat and sliding on, Kohli picks it and defends off the back foot

6.1 - Shakib to Kohli, no run, ooh! That turned a long way. Pitched outside off, stopped on Kohli who was looking to cut, missed the blade and Rahim didn't grab it cleanly as well

Rohit 18(16) Dhawan 22(20) Mustafizur 2-0-20-1

5.6 - Mustafizur to Rohit, out Caught by S Rahman!! That is a top catch. Not easy when the ball goes a mile up in the night sky. And from Bangladesh's perspective, they had the right man under it. Their best fielder. Mustafizur bowls the slower delivery outside off, Rohit was aiming mid-wicket, hoicked it but got a thick top edge which spiralled into the sky. Sabbir at mid-wicket backtracked and held on. Judged it to a nicety. The dangerous Rohit is gone. He got greedy and perished. The over had already produced 15 but Rohit wasn't happy with just 15. Rohit c S Rahman b Mustafizur 18(16) [4s-1 6s-1]

Mustafizur to Rohit, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

5.5 - Mustafizur to Dhawan, leg byes, 1 run, fires in the yorker. Dhawan flicks and misses. Was sliding down leg. They take a leg-bye

5.4 - Mustafizur to Dhawan, SIX, now Dhawan follows Rohit and gets six. A big tonk over long-on. This was on the stumps, Dhawan used all his muscle and heaved it over the fence. Now all of a sudden Mustafizur is under pressure. This was a calculated assault from the Indian openers against Mustafizur

5.3 - Mustafizur to Rohit, 1 run, now softly dabs the slower delivery to the right of point and a quick single pinched

5.2 - Mustafizur to Rohit, SIX, languid! Effortless. Use all the adjectives you can. Because this is beautiful from Rohit. Picked the slower delivery on off and just lofted through the line. Came off the meat of the blade and went all the way over long-off. The fielder was inside the ring and Rohit cleared him easily

5.1 - Mustafizur to Dhawan, 1 run, Dhawan shows all his three stumps and still gets bat on that. He backed away well outside leg, even as Mustafizur was running in to bowl, this was on middle, Dhawan drives to the right of cover-point, single taken

Over: 5 0 1 1 0 1 1 IND 27/0
Dhawan 15(17) Rohit 11(13) Shakib 1-0-4-0

4.6 - Shakib to Dhawan, 1 run, flighted delivery outside off, Dhawan goes hard on the sweep and finds deep mid-wicket. Hit all along the ground

4.5 - Shakib to Rohit, 1 run, now tossed up on the stumps, Rohit gets forward and drives to long-off

4.4 - Shakib to Rohit, no run, almost a caught and bowled. Rohit checked his stroke as the ball stopped on him. Shakib dived forward but it fell inches short. This track looks two-paced and Rohit was lucky to survive that. Maybe Shakib could've done much better by diving well in front. Sort of waited for the ball to come and that's the chance gone

4.3 - Shakib to Dhawan, 1 run, sliding on, Dhawan short-arm jabs the pull, wide of long-on but just one

4.2 - Shakib to Rohit, 1 run, punched off the back foot to long-off

4.1 - Shakib to Rohit, no run, confusion between Rohit and Dhawan. Interesting with a direct hit. But Sabbir Rahman misses with the throw from cover. It was mistimed to the fielder and Dhawan wanted the quick single, was halfway down the track and had to dive full-length to make it back. But a direct hit may have proved that dive futile

Shakib Al Hasan, left-arm orthodox, comes into the attack

Dhawan 13(15) Rohit 9(9) Mustafizur 1-0-6-0

3.6 - Mustafizur to Dhawan, FOUR, the quicker length ball on off and middle. Sounds strange to say that - when a seamer like Mustafizur is bowling. But he bowls cutters mostly. So this will be his change-up delivery, short-arm jabbed over mid-wicket. Dhawan was aiming for that stroke all over and finally gets it off the last ball

3.5 - Mustafizur to Dhawan, no run, Mustafizur and Rahim go up for a big lbw appeal. But Aleem Dar walks away. Dhawan used his feet and aimed to play to leg, is beaten by the slower delivery, hit on the pad and since he was a long way down the track, he got away. Looked adjacent to the naked eye. Or was it going down leg? Touch and go that. But once you are so far down the track, any umpire will go with the batsman

3.4 - Mustafizur to Rohit, 1 run, a cutter outside off, Rohit is very careful playing away from the body, he leans forward and then just eases it through cover for a single. Didn't go hard at it

3.3 - Mustafizur to Dhawan, 1 run, full on the pads, this time he rolls his wrists and flicks it to deep square leg, for a single

3.2 - Mustafizur to Dhawan, no run, another cutter, another swing to leg and Dhawan again misses out. Is hit on the thigh pad

The usual nuisance behind the bowler's arm. It is sorted and we are ready to go

3.1 - Mustafizur to Dhawan, no run, Mustafizur come on and bowls the cutter, it grips on the surface and Dhawan misses out on the tuck. The ball rolls behind his legs, but he had it covered. Ensured it didn't go back onto the stumps

Mustafizur Rahman, comes into the attack

Over: 3 4 1 1 1 1 0 IND 17/0
Rohit 8(8) Dhawan 8(10) Al-Amin 1-0-8-0

2.6 - Al-Amin to Rohit, no run, another cutter on a back of a length outside off, Rohit hops and pats to point. Looks for the single but Dhawan isn't interested

2.5 - Al-Amin to Dhawan, 1 run, good running and almost a terrible giveaway by Al-Amin. Saw Dhawan charging and shortened the length, Dhawan defended to the right of the bowler. Both Dhawan and Rohit had a look at each other and ran. Al-Amin for some reason shies and had the throw been a little bit wide, it would've eluded mid-on and ran away for four more

2.4 - Al-Amin to Rohit, 1 run, Al-Amin rolled his fingers on that and bowled the cutter, it gripped on the surface and jagged back in a tad, Rohit took the bottom hand off the bat and nurdled it behind square. That cramped Rohit slightly for room. Maybe the way on this track is to bowl the cutters more often than not

No slip for Al-Amin

2.3 - Al-Amin to Dhawan, 1 run, short of length and angled across Dhawan who rocks back and punches to the left of point. Another easy single taken

2.2 - Al-Amin to Rohit, 1 run, on the stumps, gently nudged to the vacant square leg region

2.1 - Al-Amin to Rohit, FOUR, that is pure class. Just class from Rohit. He rocked back to a back of a length delivery, which wasn't short at all. But the skill of Rohit come to the fore, used the depth of the crease and then cut it late. The key was to play the ball late and that's what Rohit did. There was a sweeper placed, he had a few paces to cover to his left, but he had no chance. Even a full-length dive wasn't enough. Such was the timing on the shot. A decent delivery has been hit for four. That's what Rohit can do to you

Dhawan 6(8) Rohit 2(4) Shuvagata 1-0-4-0

1.6 - Shuvagata to Dhawan, no run, flat and outside off, Dhawan stays back and then punches with an open blade. Finds the diving point. Apart from the half-tracker, pretty decent over from Shuvagata

1.5 - Shuvagata to Dhawan, no run, now rocks back and opens the face of the bat to guide to short third man

1.4 - Shuvagata to Dhawan, FOUR, three dots and Shuvagata errs by bowling short. Dragged down, very short outside off, Dhawan rocked back in a flash and then thumped the pull over mid-wicket. Once it went over the infield it was four all the way

1.3 - Shuvagata to Dhawan, no run, on the stumps, gently nudged to the vacant FSL position

1.2 - Shuvagata to Dhawan, no run, again turn! This was shorter and outside off, Dhawan was lining up for a big cut, the turn forces the mistimed stroke and Dhawan finds cover

1.1 - Shuvagata to Dhawan, no run, ooh! Turn for Shuvagata, first ball. And big turn too. From round the wicket, pitches outside off and then grips away, brings Dhawan forward as he looked to push to the off-side. Beaten neck and crop

Rohit 2(4) Dhawan 2(2) Mortaza 1-0-5-0

0.6 - Mortaza to Rohit, no run, back of a length outside off, Rohit stands tall and defends to the left of the bowler

0.5 - Mortaza to Dhawan, 1 run, angled across Dhawan on a length, he gets forward and pushes it through cover-point. Another single taken

0.4 - Mortaza to Rohit, 1 run, softly tapped to the short mid-wicket region, easy single

0.3 - Mortaza to Rohit, no run, good stop by Sabbir Rahman diving to his left at backward point. It was angled in on a length on off, Rohit got a thick outside edge on the defence. The batsmen hesitated for a moment and Dhawan was a few paces down the track looking for the single, but sent back in time. Rahman is one of Bangladesh's best fielders and as the saying goes - never run on a misfield. Sensibly done in the end

0.3 - Mortaza to Rohit, wide, the inswinger attempted, but it slips down leg. Wide called

0.2 - Mortaza to Dhawan, 1 run, a carbon copy of the previous ball. Short and wide outside off, Dhawan cuts and finds the sweeper on the off-side

0.1 - Mortaza to Rohit, 1 run, short outside off, Rohit hops and then cuts to the sweeper cover in place. That's a good field placed for Rohit is very strong square on the off-side. Straight to the fielder

Rohit and Dhawan are at the crease. Rohit is on strike. Mortaza will open the attack

Phew! What did we just witness? Bangladesh seemed to be cruising. They never looked under pressure. Then how did they lose? I need time to stomach that. So, the equation for India is straightforward now. Win against Australia and go through to the semifinal. That we shall think about tomorrow. Today, let us concentrate on how India managed to stay alive. My fingers need an ice pack, but these are the sort of games that test you as a commentator. Hope we have done justice and more importantly you enjoyed our coverage. Time to say goodbye. This is Akshay Maanay signing off on behalf of our scorer Krishna and my co-commentators Srivathsa, Sagar Chawla and Pradeep. Ta-ta!

Below are some of the tweets pertaining to this game

Gurkeerat Mann: Cool as a cucumber ! MS Dhoni style ! Too easy fr him

Parthiv Patel: Great victory for Team India! They never fail to believe in one another and that's what separates them from the rest! #ChaseGreatness

Russel Arnold: What a finish !!! 3 wickets in last 3 balls with 2 runs to get .. A short ball .. A full toss .. A Jail Break !! Congratulations India !!

Shane Watson: What an incredible game of cricket!!! Bangladesh showed great fight but just couldn't finish it off #nailbiter#indvbang#t20wc

Anil Kumble: Unbelievable win by India. Held their nerve. Well done India. #IndvsBan #T20 WC #AKLive

Brendon Taylor: Oh my word! What have we just witnessed? #IndvsBan #T20 WC

Tom Moody: @BCBtigers snatch defeat from the jaws of victory! #wt20 #INDvBAN

Mortaza: "Bowlers did a great job during the bowling time. The batsmen were on top till the last three balls. Anyway, it is bad luck, can't do much. Last three balls we lost three wickets and we needed only 2 runs. Specially it is disappointing today. We didn't play well against Pakistan, but played two good games."

Dhoni: "I don't want to say everything [regarding what was spoken in the last over]. The decision was what length to bowl and what line to bowl. These were the kind of stuff that was being said. I knew once the 20th over starts I had the luxury of time and wouldn't have been fined. At times you look to finish it with a big shot. When you are batting well, you go for it. It is a learning for him [Mahmudullah] and others who finish games. That is what cricket is all about. If it had gone for six, everybody would have said what a shot. It is important to decide before playing the shot, if you have to play it or not. I think he [Bumrah] bowled really well, the second over he bowled, he was under pressure that was because he had not fielded well. That can happen in this format. He did well to forget that and bowl the crucial 19th over. They were cruising and scoring at a decent rate, instead of using our part-timers, we used our proper bowlers and that made a difference in the end. Overall, very good bowling effort. There were quite a few stuff we were discussing. We didn't want Pandya to bowl the yorker, it had to be back of a length and how much back of a length, you don't want the batsman to connect, what field should it be. His execution of the last delivery was fantastic."

Ashwin: "I think this is probably the most we have discussed on a cricket field as a team. We have never really got together and worried so much about a game before. Credit to Bangladesh. I think they played great cricket. I am probably drained right now. I'll probably go back to my room and crash. That's how much energy I have (smiles). He (Bumrah) put down a catch, didn't have a good time in the field, bowled two overs for 22 and from there to come back and bowl like that was excellent. I actually gave him a cheeky idea to try and mankad at the end. I know we might have got a bit of flak, but why not! (smiles). We have not really batted the way where we would be really pleased with our performance. We are a very, very good batting unit. Once we fire on all cylinders we will be great contenders for the title. As of today, with where we stand, I don't think we are contenders (smiles). But I think it's not a bad time to peak. If we really pick up our batting, we could be great contenders from now on. When Tamim's sweep went up in the air I thought we had the game under control. Later on I put a catch down as well. A lot was going through my mind. It was a roller-coaster game. It was great to see the team come back and win the game."

Ashwin is the Man of the Match

My word. How does the Chinnaswamy even have any voice left? They are roaring at the top of their decibels. The range of emotions they have gone through, phew! From an atmosphere resembling a fighting pit, it turned into a cemetery and then back. India have held their nerves and those of a billion others, and scraped through. Defending an at-best fighting total, Dhoni faced plenty of problems in the field which included a bevy of catches being dropped, the pitch getting slightly better, but the most prominent of all was that he didn't have 5 Ashwins. He tried his best, effected a couple of brilliant stumpings, spaced out the overs of his two major spinners as he thought appropriate, but still Bangladesh were ahead right through. That is, till the final 3 balls.

How did Bangladesh lose that? Rahim and Mahmudullah had the match at their mercy. With 11 needed off the final over, Rahim did the difficult part of striking Pandya for 2 back-to-back boundaries. It came down 2 runs needed from 3 balls. And then he absolutely completely had a brainfade. Holed out in trying to clear the fence. But wait, that wasn't all. Mahmudullah, after seeing his partner having an absolute freeze, went one step further. He lobbed a full toss straight to deep mid-wicket. And then it was asking too much from Hom to handle all the pressure and connect off the final ball.

It's the 1999 WC (Bangladesh have done a South Africa). Where are the medics? Get the medics. My pulse is emanating smoke.. I'm having a meltdown. What a thriller! The celebrations were wild from the Indians. Some of them were on Pandya, Kohli as usual was letting out a loud roar and running everywhere.

19.6 - Pandya to Shuvagata, out Mustafizur Run Out!! India have pulled off a heist. What scenes at the Chinnaswamy. If you are an Indian supporter that is the place to be tonight. Drama, emotions and what not. Everything running high. The fireworks are going off in the background. Nehra leaped onto Dhoni once the skipper took the stumps off. Pandya is still pumped up. Please excuse me for not describing the ball. First have to mention who is doing what. Okay, with everything coming to a calm now. Here is the wicket, short of length delivery outside off, Hom has a slash and misses, Mustafizur was haring across to the other end. A run would have meant a Super Over. Dhoni, who had already taken off one glove, gathered the ball, ran forward and took couple of stumps out. Mustafizur was well short of the crease. Indians didn't seem confident at first, but started celebrating once OUT flashed on the giant screen. The crowd also waited for the decision and once they saw the roofs came down at the Chinnaswamy. Mustafizur run out (Dhoni) 0(0)

Pandya to Shuvagata, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!

Have India won it? They seem confident. Third umpire called in for a run-out check. Mustafizur is short of the crease. OUT!

The senior members of the Indian team confer again. Dhoni has a few suggestions. Nehra also giving tips for Pandya. 2 needed. Third man back and mid-off is in. Fine leg is also back. Hom on strike. Dhoni has taken off his right glove

Mustafizur Rahman, left handed bat, comes to the crease

19.5 - Pandya to Mahmudullah, out Caught by Ravindra Jadeja!! Wow! Mahmudullah can't believe it. Throws his bat up in disappointment. The crowd are on their feet. Mahmudullah is relcutant to walk back. The Indians are still in it. What captaincy from Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Swapped the deep mid-wicket fielder and got his best man, Jadeja there. Any other fielder would have found it difficult. Full toss on off, Mahmudullah swings across the line and wanted to finish it with glory, gets it high on the bat and spoons towards deep mid-wicket. Jadeja covers good ground, slides and takes it with both hands. Turns towards the crowd and lets out a roar. Mahmudullah c Ravindra Jadeja b Pandya 18(22) [4s-1]

Pandya to Mahmudullah, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

2 off 2! This is a nailbiter. Third man and fine leg in...

Shuvagata Hom, right handed bat, comes to the crease

19.4 - Pandya to Rahim, out Caught by Dhawan!! Oh dear! This game doesn't fail to amaze. Rahim has his head back and looking up towards the sky. But the good thing about that wicket is Mahmudullah on strike. Another length ball from Pandya, Rahim stayed on leg-stump and pulled, got it nowhere close to the middle and it skied to deep mid-wicket. Dhawan reverse cupped it with ease. Rahim c Dhawan b Pandya 11(6) [4s-2]

Pandya to Rahim, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

19.3 - Pandya to Rahim, FOUR, Bangladesh almost have it. Rahim is almost in Pandya's face roaring in delight. Told you Rahim is good with the lap and that is exactly what he did. Back of a length around off, he moves across and gets it off the gloves to the left of Dhoni, who dived in vain. Rahim has already started celebrating

6 required now. Nehra and Dhoni again in Pandya's ears. They are getting back to their respective positions. There is pin drop silence. Plenty of them praying...

19.2 - Pandya to Rahim, FOUR, in the air and wide of extra cover. That shot gets his team-mates to stand up and applaud. Length delivery outside off, Rahim walks across his stumps and slaps it to the left of extra cover, no chance for sweeper to stop that

Dhoni and Pandya have a mid-pitch conference. The skipper has a few pointers for the young man. Rahim is good with the scoop and fine leg is up. Square leg is also up....

19.1 - Pandya to Mahmudullah, 1 run, keeps it full and outside off, Mahmudullah middles the drive and it rocketed off the bat to sweeper cover, straight to Jadeja and he did well to get his body behind the line

Hardik Pandya [2.0-0-20-0] is back into the attack

So, Bumrah went for 6 runs and left 11 for the last over. Who is it going to be? Pandya is getting tips from Nehra. Dhoni has something to say, maybe regarding the field placements. Who's your money on? Should go with Bangladesh. Mahmudullah remains calm. Third man inside the circle. Dhoni wants to get the right fielders in the right spot. Off we go...

18.6 - Bumrah to Mahmudullah, 1 run, brilliant over from Bumrah. Hardly missed the yorker length. This is also right in the blockhole, Mahmudullah jams it down the ground, Bumrah dived to his right, but didn't get a hand. Only a single though

18.5 - Bumrah to Rahim, 1 run, low full toss just outside off, Rahim makes a bit of room, slices the drive behind square, Rohit is quick across the turf, moves to his left from sweeper cover and keeps it to a single

Bumrah wants mid-off to go back. Third man in and so is square leg.

18.4 - Bumrah to Mahmudullah, 1 run, fullish and outside off, drilled along the carpet to sweeper cover

18.3 - Bumrah to Rahim, 1 run, very full and yorker length, Rahim jams the drive out to mid-off and set off immediately, Pandya swoops in on the ball, gathers and hits timber at the bowler's end. Rahim was in though

Third umpire pressed into service for a run-out check. Indians are not confident. Rahim the man in question. Has made it in by a couple of inches. Not Out!

18.2 - Bumrah to Mahmudullah, 1 run, Bangladeshi fans thought Mahmudullah got four there. A low full toss and he went for the paddle, bent low and picked out Nehra at short fine leg, who has a aim at the striker's end. He missed and Rahim survives

Mahmudullah is having a look at the field. Ready now...

18.1 - Bumrah to Rahim, 1 run, yorker length just outside off, Rahim squeezes it out to sweeper cover

Nehra finishes as well. He could have done well than 4-0-29-1. Bumrah into his last over. So, all the frontline bowlers would bowl out at the end of this over. Bangladesh need 17 and Mahmudullah is well-set to win them the game...

It was a juicy low full toss outside off, Mahmudullah creams the drive through extra cover, the ball scooted across the surface

Mushfiqur Rahim, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Same sort of field for Mahmudullah...

17.5 - Nehra to Soumya Sarkar, out Caught by Kohli!! This game is not over yet. A rank bad delivery and Sarkar has found the fielder. The crowd find their voice again, but not the Bangladesh contingent. Kohli looks a worried man. The crowd still believe. Dhoni making a few field changes for Mahmudullah. Nehra comes round the wicket..

17.3 - Nehra to Soumya Sarkar, 1 run, more on that length - yorker around off, Sarkar digs the drive out to long-off

17.2 - Nehra to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, poor delivery and it has been dealt with. Drags it halfway down the wicket, Sarkar was waiting for something in his zone, pulls it flat and in front of square. There was a fielder in the deep, but he had no chance of stopping that

Yorker on the stumps, Sarkar moves to leg, opens the bat face and steers it to the left of Dhoni, who dived and had it in the mitts for a second. But once he hit the ground the ball popped out

16.5 - Bumrah to Mahmudullah, 1 run, another one in the blockhole, Mahmudullah digs it off the inner part of the bat to deep mid-wicket

16.4 - Bumrah to Mahmudullah, 2 runs, Yuvraj saved a couple of runs. Low full toss outside off, Mahmudullah stoops low, opens the bat face and drives it towards backward point, Yuvraj dives to his right and gets a hand. Takes the pace off the ball, Rohit coming in from the deep, fumbles and allows the second. India have been shabby in the field today

16.3 - Bumrah to Mahmudullah, no run, every dot ball is being cheered. That is a very good yorker. Right at the base of off, Mahmudullah does well to bring his bat down and jam it near his boot. For a moment, I thought it sneaked through

Third man and fine leg in....

16.1 - Bumrah to Soumya Sarkar, 2 runs, starts well, very full and on leg-stump, Sarkar flicks it to deep mid-wicket, placed it right between the two fielders and scampered back for the second. Yuvraj had a lot of ground to cover from deep mid-wicket and he couldn't stop the second
