HYD looked like a bunch of school kids who looked lost in a picnic party. Almost all of them hit the panic button, but there's always an experienced campaigner to guide and set things right - Yuvraj, took up that role today. But this target might prove tricky given the way the pitch has behaved. GG and Robbie are in the middle. Bhuvi to open with one slip in place...

Yuvraj: "Whatever I can do for the team. I have been hitting the ball well. It was important for me to stay till the end today. It is a tough pitch, it is not easy to go out there and hit. I was coming back after a month, got a bit stronger. It is a bit two-paced so I think 160 is a good score. I have been contributing towards the team. Hopefully we can win and move forward. I think we could have got to 170 but lost the momentum in between, lost a few wickets. I think 162 is a good total. I do not think the wicket is going to change."

PS: KOL's fielding wasn't top-class. Dropped a few catches, missed a couple of run out chances too. In a game like this, you just cannot AFFORD such blips. Let's see if HYD make them pay....

PHAExpress THREE: Just when things started to look bright, HYD lost Hooda and Cutting in the space of 3 balls. Yuvraj slammed 44 off 30 balls and played a vital role in HYD reaching a competitive score. Bipul Sharma's lusty blows ensured HYD gained some momentum towards the end

PHAExpress TWO: Warner and Henriques did consolidate with a 59-run stand. The duo, however, were dismissed in successive deliveries leaving HYD in a state of bother. Hooda and Yuvi then stitched a crucial stand of 49 for the 4th wicket.

PHAExpress ONE: Gambhir played his cards wisely by plugging Yusuf Pathan with the new ball duties - which obviously proved to be fruitful. Dhawan's early departure meant HYD had to mix caution with aggression.

SYNOPSIS: Well let's break it down into three phases given the way things have panned out in the first half.

Over: 20 1 1 1 0 W 1 1B 1L HYD 162/8
Bipul Sharma 14(6) Barinder 0(0) M Morkel 4-0-31-2

19.6 - M Morkel to Bipul Sharma, byes, 1 run, full delivery outside off, Sharma is standing leg-side and cannot get his bat on it. The batsmen manage to sneak in a bye though

Barinder Sran, left handed bat, comes to the crease

19.5 - M Morkel to Bhuvneshwar, out Caught by M Pandey!! Bhuvneshwar wanted to do a Bipul Sharma but could not effect it properly. Anyway has done his job, HYD will have Bipul Sharma on strike for the last ball. Bhuvneshwar cleared his leg on this shortish ball, trying to smack it over long-off, the ball took the toe of the bat and skied high at cover for Pandey to settle under it. Bhuvneshwar c M Pandey b M Morkel 1(2)

M Morkel to Bhuvneshwar, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

19.4 - M Morkel to Bipul Sharma, 1 run, and again he tries a similar shot, this time it did not come off well, got an inside edge that rolled to short fine leg for a single

19.3 - M Morkel to Bipul Sharma, SIX, Morkel is getting some treatment here. This was even better than the previous one he hit in the over. It was a back of a length delivery on the stumps, Bipul Sharma cleared his leg and smacked it, almost flat batted over the bowler's head

19.2 - M Morkel to Bipul Sharma, no run, Morkel is back to back of a length, just wide of off and Bipul Sharma cannot get his bat on the cut that he attempted

19.1 - M Morkel to Bipul Sharma, SIX, it never looked like clearing the fence but Bipul Sharma packs some punch for sure. He got it in his zone around off, maintained his shape and lofted over long-off

Morne Morkel [3.0-0-18-1] is back into the attack

Over: 19 2 1 1 Wd 1 W 1 1 W HYD 148/7
Bipul Sharma 1(1) Bhuvneshwar 1(1) Holder 4-0-33-2

18.6 - Holder to Bipul Sharma, 1 run, back of a length delivery around off, Bipul Sharma wanted to force it towards point, got an inside edge that rolled towards short mid-wicket for a single

Bipul Sharma, left handed bat, comes to the crease

18.5 - Holder to N Ojha, out Caught by Uthappa!! Did it carry? Yes it did. The reaction from Uthappa did not suggest so. Slower delivery outside off and Ojha wanted to smack it over long-off, got a thick outside edge that got low as it reached Uthappa, he did well to dive in front and got his mitts under the ball in time. A keeper diving in front is no mean feat. A lot of judgement is needed there. N Ojha c Uthappa b Holder 7(9)

Holder to N Ojha, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

18.5 - Holder to N Ojha, wide, slower delivery but Holder has missed the radar, bowled it well wide and the umpire stretches his arms

18.4 - Holder to Bhuvneshwar, 1 run, short and wide, Bhuvneshwar cuts it to Gambhir at backward point, sets off for a single. Was in at the bowler's end before the throw came in

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, right handed bat, comes to the crease

18.3 - Holder to Yuvraj, out Bowled!! Holder has got the big fish. Yuvraj has been outdone this time. He wanted to play smart by moving across, Holder kept it full and on the stumps. Kept it at normal pace as well and that did not help Yuvraj's cause. Once he was beaten the ball was always going to peg down the middle stump. Minus 10-15 runs from what you were expecting HYD to get. Yuvraj b Holder 44(30) [4s-8 6s-1]

Holder to Yuvraj, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

18.2 - Holder to Yuvraj, no run, if the previous one was wide why is not this one? Similar to the previous delivery, Yuvraj could not reach with his attempted drive

18.2 - Holder to Yuvraj, wide, very full but just outside the tramline, called a wide

18.1 - Holder to N Ojha, 1 run, fuller length delivery around off, Ojha mistimes the drive to long-off for a single

Jason Holder [3.0-0-28-0] is back into the attack

Over: 18 1 0 1 HYD 143/5
Yuvraj 44(28) N Ojha 6(7) Narine 4-0-35-0

17.6 - Narine to Yuvraj, no run, this is brilliant from Narine, took this one away from Yuvraj and once again he was beaten on the poke

17.5 - Narine to Yuvraj, FOUR, short and quick outside off, Yuvraj wanted to pull this one, was beaten by the pace of the delivery. Got a thickish edge that flew past Morkel at short third man, he gave it a chase as well but was not quick enough to hunt it down

17.4 - Narine to N Ojha, 1 run, Ojha waits for this one and punches it through cover for a single

17.3 - Narine to N Ojha, no run, short and quick outside off, Ojha cannot get his bat on the cut

17.2 - Narine to N Ojha, 2 runs, Ojha crouches low and slog sweeps this one, there is protection in the deep and he has to be content with a couple

17.1 - Narine to N Ojha, 2 runs, Manish Pandey has saved two runs for his team, Ojha slogged it over mid-wicket. Pandey from long-on ran to his right and parried it back into play

17.1 - Narine to N Ojha, wide, hurls it well wide of off and will be called a wide

Sunil Narine [3.0-0-25-0] is back into the attack

Over: 17 1 HYD 133/5
Yuvraj 40(26) N Ojha 1(3) Kuldeep Yadav 4-0-35-3

16.6 - Kuldeep Yadav to Yuvraj, FOUR, and now the use of feet. This is the key, do not allow a spinner to get his length right. Got to the pitch of the delivery and wristed it over mid-wicket, beat the dive of the fielder in the deep

16.5 - Kuldeep Yadav to Yuvraj, FOUR, he has swept it well Yuvraj. Got low to smother whatever spin was there on it and then broomed it through square leg

16.4 - Kuldeep Yadav to N Ojha, 1 run, Ojha drives it past Gambhir through cover and calls for a single this time

16.3 - Kuldeep Yadav to N Ojha, no run, and what happened there? Yuvraj is lucky to be there. Ojha patted it to point after stepping down, Yuvraj wanted a single but Ojha was not ready. Yuvi was almost near the striker's end but as Uthappa moved to his right and got to the ball, he rushes back. By then, Ojha starts to take off as well. Huge mix-up as both run towards the bowler's end, the throw from Uthappa hits Yuvi's boot and deflects. Gambhir then picks it up and has a shy, but Yuvraj managed to get back to the non-striker's end in time. In fact, Yuvi almost ran two there. Had the throw been accurate from the keeper, it would have been curtains. Ojha always said no for the run but Yuvi came rushing as he badly wanted the strike

16.2 - Kuldeep Yadav to N Ojha, no run, Ojha drives it to the left of the bowler, who dives to kill a single

Naman Ojha, right handed bat, comes to the crease

16.1 - Kuldeep Yadav to Ben Cutting, out Stumped!! This is Kuldeep's night, he can do no wrong. But some senseless batting from Ben Cutting, what was he thinking here. Has not faced a delivery and then decides to charge down against a bowler who has been turning them. This was a googly and Ben Cutting had no time to get back in his crease after he was beaten by the turn. Ben Cutting st Uthappa b Kuldeep Yadav 0(1)

Kuldeep Yadav to Ben Cutting, THAT'S OUT!! Stumped!!

Kuldeep Yadav [3.0-0-26-2] is back into the attack

Over: 16 6 1 1 4 0 0 2 W 1 1 4 HYD 124/4
Yuvraj 32(24) Ben Cutting 0(0) Holder 3-0-28-0

15.6 - Holder to Yuvraj, FOUR, whatever shot a left-hander plays looks elegant anyway, but this was a touch better than any of those. Not a short delivery, perhaps back of a length and Yuvraj pulled it off the front foot through mid-wicket, the ball raced to the fence in no time

Ben Cutting, right handed bat, comes to the crease

They have taken the time-out. Just when HYD would have thought that the pair of Yuvi and Hooda will get them to a decent total, Deepak Hooda lost his wicket due to some senseless running. Burden increasing on Yuvraj's shoulders

15.5 - Holder to Yuvraj, out Deepak Hooda Run Out!! Yuvi is livid with Deepak Hooda and rightly, he would have been running to the danger end had they gone for this single. There never was a run there, Yuvraj drove this length delivery straight to the fielder at mid-off, Deepak Hooda was not ball watching and set off. Kuldeep Yadav did not miss the target and caught Deepak Hooda short of his crease there. Deepak Hooda run out (Kuldeep Yadav) 21(13) [6s-2]

Holder to Yuvraj, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!

15.4 - Holder to Yuvraj, no run, not this time. He wanted to play with the mind of the bowler by moving leg-side, Holder bowled this fuller length delivery well outside off and Yuvraj could not reach it

15.3 - Holder to Yuvraj, FOUR, Yuvraj's game is not only about hitting down the ground, this time he used the field to good effect. Moved across on this short delivery and helped it over short fine leg

15.2 - Holder to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, Deepak Hooda once again moved leg-side which propelled Holder to bowl it short and wide, Deepak Hooda waits and cuts it to sweeper cover for a single

15.1 - Holder to Deepak Hooda, SIX, length during death overs is criminal. Deepak Hooda cleared his front leg and smacked it well over the fence at the cow corner

Jason Holder [2.0-0-13-0] is back into the attack

Over: 15 6 0 1 1 0 1 0 W 0 4 1 HYD 109/3
Yuvraj 24(20) Deepak Hooda 14(11) Narine 3-0-25-0

14.6 - Narine to Yuvraj, FOUR, this was spurred by those dot balls. Yuvraj threw his bat on it and connected really well to beat the fielder at long-off with ease

14.5 - Narine to Yuvraj, no run, and another one, this time it moved away from Yuvi, and like the previous time, he was beaten

14.4 - Narine to Yuvraj, no run, Yuvraj is a little puzzled out there, once again he did not read the turn, awkwardly kept it away towards what could have been a FSL

14.3 - Narine to Yuvraj, no run, beaten by the quicker delivery which left him with the angle. Yuvraj wanted to push it towards point

14.2 - Narine to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, this is smart cricket from Deepak Hooda, not getting carried away. Easily clips it to mid-wicket and gets to the other end

14.1 - Narine to Deepak Hooda, SIX, not exactly tossed up but Deepak Hooda has been helped by a short boundary there, he got low and flogged it over deep mid-wicket with some power

Sunil Narine [2.0-0-14-0] is back into the attack

Over: 14 1 HYD 98/3
Yuvraj 20(16) Deepak Hooda 7(9) M Morkel 3-0-18-1

13.6 - M Morkel to Yuvraj, no run, bumper and on the middle and leg, might have been going down the leg which is why Yuvraj was looking at the umpire, thinking it will be called a wide. But it was not, Yuvraj was late as he tried to pull this one

13.5 - M Morkel to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, back to back of a length for Deepak Hooda, he chops it towards third man with ease

13.4 - M Morkel to Yuvraj, 1 run, Morkel comes round the wicket and delivers a perfect yorker around off, Yuvraj jams it towards gully and hares to the other end

13.3 - M Morkel to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, slip in place for Morkel, Hooda stays leg-side and tries to thrash it away. Did not time it well and could only find sweeper cover

13.2 - M Morkel to Yuvraj, 1 run, short ball but Yuvraj moved across too early, pulled it with the inner part of the bat towards fine leg for a single

13.1 - M Morkel to Yuvraj, no run, yorker and on off, Yuvraj does well to jam it towards the off-side

Morne Morkel [2.0-0-14-1] is back into the attack

Over: 13 W HYD 94/3
Deepak Hooda 5(7) Yuvraj 18(12) Kuldeep Yadav 3-0-26-2

12.6 - Kuldeep Yadav to Deepak Hooda, no run, Hooda too waits for the ball to turn and wants to guide it away from short third man, was not lucky with the gap though

12.5 - Kuldeep Yadav to Yuvraj, 1 run, another tossed up delivery, Yuvraj works it through mid-wicket for a single

12.4 - Kuldeep Yadav to Yuvraj, no run, he has come back to over the wicket, this time Yuvraj has been beaten by turn, wanted to push it through the off-side, the ball turned just enough to beat his bat

12.3 - Kuldeep Yadav to Yuvraj, SIX, he has compensated for the previous shot, hit it really well. Stepped down and reached the pitch of the delivery and lofted it over the bowler with ease. Kuldeep had come round the wicket but it did not work against Yuvi

12.2 - Kuldeep Yadav to Yuvraj, FOUR, this was not hit that well but since it was in the gap, Yuvraj will get four. It was a tossed up delivery and Yuvi lofted it between deep mid-wicket and long-on

12.1 - Kuldeep Yadav to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, chinaman from Kuldeep, Hooda allows it to turn and then works into the on-side

Kuldeep Yadav [2.0-0-14-2] is back into the attack

Over: 12 1 HYD 82/3
Yuvraj 7(8) Deepak Hooda 4(5) Sathish 1-0-9-0

11.6 - Sathish to Yuvraj, FOUR, Yuvraj takes a bit of risk and it has paid him well, stayed leg-side and opened the bat on the cut to find the gap through point with ease

11.5 - Sathish to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, off-pace delivery from Sathish again, Hooda presents the full face and punches down the ground

11.4 - Sathish to Deepak Hooda, 2 runs, slower delivery and Hooda waits for it, gently works it in front of mid-wicket, the fielder had some moving in to do from the deep and Hooda cashed in on it

11.3 - Sathish to Yuvraj, 1 run, Yuvraj opens the face of the bat a touch and steers it to short third man for a single

This is smart from GG, he wants to sneak in a few overs from Sathish. Not a bad idea

11.2 - Sathish to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, too straight from Sathish perhaps, Hooda punches it down the ground towards long-on for a single

11.1 - Sathish to Deepak Hooda, no run, keeper is up to the stumps for Sathish, Hooda drives it on the up towards extra cover

Rajagopal Sathish, right-arm medium, comes into the attack

Over: 11 0 1 0 0 0 1 2 4 0 W 0 HYD 73/3
Yuvraj 2(6) Deepak Hooda 0(1) Narine 2-0-14-0

10.6 - Narine to Yuvraj, no run, this one left Yuvraj outside off and he almost edged this into the mitts of the keeper. Superb over from the Caribbean

10.5 - Narine to Yuvraj, no run, this is what those wickets have done. Yuvraj gets forward and blocks this flatter delivery

10.4 - Narine to Yuvraj, 2 runs, enough with those defensive pushes, this time Yuvraj gets across and laps it away from short fine leg for a couple

10.3 - Narine to Yuvraj, no run, just presses the repeat button again to make that fielder at silly point come into play

10.2 - Narine to Yuvraj, no run, similar delivery and similar approach from Yuvi

10.1 - Narine to Yuvraj, no run, flatter delivery just outside off, defends it to silly point

Sunil Narine [1.0-0-12-0] is back into the attack

Over: 10 1 HYD 71/3
Deepak Hooda 0(1) Yuvraj 0(0) Kuldeep Yadav 2-0-14-2

9.6 - Kuldeep Yadav to Deepak Hooda, no run, the hat-trick ball is the leg-break down leg, Hooda plays with bat and pad close and keeps it out

Deepak Hooda, right handed bat, comes to the crease

9.5 - Kuldeep Yadav to Warner, out Bowled!! Kuldeep has scooted through Warner and is absolutely pumped. Look at the young man, look at his elation. It's a googly which pitches on a length just outside off and turns back in. Warner is already on one knee for a sweep but the ball sneaks under him and rattles his timber. Such contrast in emotions. Warner removes his gloves and looks like a raging bull as he walks back. Warner b Kuldeep Yadav 28(28) [4s-3]

Kuldeep Yadav to Warner, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

Yuvraj Singh, left handed bat, comes to the crease

9.4 - Kuldeep Yadav to Henriques, out Caught&Bowled!! He won't get away this time for this has been skied off the leading edge. Yadav settles under it and hangs on. A shortish ball down leg, Henriques tries to pull it hard but doesn't control the bounce and departs after a breezy knock. Henriques c and b Kuldeep Yadav 31(21) [4s-1 6s-2]

Kuldeep Yadav to Henriques, THAT'S OUT!! Caught&Bowled!!

9.3 - Kuldeep Yadav to Henriques, SIX, this is the googly and Henriques may not have picked it. But he got close enough to the ball after charging down and went through with the swipe. Clears long-off. Might have sliced it actually

9.2 - Kuldeep Yadav to Henriques, 2 runs, ventures down the track, takes it on the full and drives it powerfully straight of long-off for a couple

9.1 - Kuldeep Yadav to Warner, 1 run, slow through the air, that makes it even more easy for Warner to reel back and cut it hard down to long-off

Strategic time-out! Warner is just about going at a run-a-ball. And he's faced a fair amount of deliveries. Round 1 - KOL, I guess, given that the pitch has done nothing out of the ordinary. The helmet comes off for Warner, Yadav to continue..

Over: 9 1 1 4 1 1 4 0 1 2 1 1 HYD 62/1
Warner 27(26) Henriques 23(18) Holder 2-0-13-0

8.6 - Holder to Warner, 1 run, fires one in the blockhole just outside off, Warner gets his bat down in the nick of time and squeezes it in front of point

8.5 - Holder to Henriques, 1 run, this time he has flapped the attempted pull. Got it high on the bat and it spooned behind square

8.4 - Holder to Henriques, FOUR, decent short ball, around helmet-high but it's been dispatched to the boundary. Henriques might have been expecting it which made the weight transfer easy. Saw it all the way and kept it along the floor wide of fine leg

8.3 - Holder to Warner, 1 run, these are good lengths from KOL. Especially to someone like Warner to whom you can't stray on either side. Back of a length, Warner hops to pull but the bounce which he is expecting is not there, chops it off an under-edge onto thigh pad and picks a single towards third man

8.2 - Holder to Henriques, 1 run, low full toss just outside off, Henriques bunts it down to long-on with a closed bat-face

8.1 - Holder to Warner, 1 run, hip-high off-cutter in line with leg stump, clipped through square leg

Henriques 17(15) Warner 24(23) Kuldeep Yadav 1-0-5-0

7.6 - Kuldeep Yadav to Henriques, no run, this one is the googly which Henriques doesn't pick. Tries to work it round the corner on the on-side and the leading edge pootles towards backward point

7.5 - Kuldeep Yadav to Henriques, 2 runs, turning in from a length on off, Henriques clips it wide of long-on and there is a definite two despite the short boundaries

7.4 - Kuldeep Yadav to Warner, 1 run, only slightly short but enough for Warner to rock back and slap it through the covers

7.3 - Kuldeep Yadav to Henriques, 1 run, Henriques uses his feet and drives the chinaman down to long-off

7.2 - Kuldeep Yadav to Warner, leg byes, 1 run, why isn't there a greater appeal? I mean seriously. Looked fairly close to me in real time. Tossed up on a good length, one which Warner can't smother despite a lunge. It's the googly which sneaks past the edge and hits on the knee-roll. Too high? Going down? I'm not sure. The ball rolls away past short third man

7.1 - Kuldeep Yadav to Henriques, 1 run, flatter and outside off, Henriques punches it from the crease down to long-off

Kuldeep Yadav, left-arm chinaman, comes into the attack

It's been a steady start to this game. Gambhir has banked on spin, like he so often does, despite nothing in the track suggesting to do so. And it's worked. They have managed to subdue the batsmen.

6.5 - Holder to Warner, 1 run, backs away slightly to manufacture room and slaps a slower short ball. I mean really slaps. The man at cover does well to parry it to mid-off with a dive

6.4 - Holder to Henriques, 1 run, normal pace chest high short ball, it rushes Henriques and he is still midway through the swivel while attempting the pull. Takes a rap on the gloves and collects a single to fine leg

6.3 - Holder to Warner, 1 run, back of a length, tucking the left-hander up, Warner lifts his front leg and short-arm jabs it through square leg

6.2 - Holder to Warner, no run, this is a back of a length off-cutter, it's close to off but Warner is still trying to slash it away despite having no room to work with, ends up chopping it towards cover

5.6 - Narine to Warner, 1 run, now he lunges out and drills a drive down to long-off. Warner is trying to impose himself on Narine straightaway which is so crucial

5.5 - Narine to Warner, FOUR, oh lovely shot! The length is a bit too full around middle, Warner clears his front leg to allow for the bat to come down freely and flogs it into the wide long-on fence. That's a statement, if ever there was one

5.4 - Narine to Henriques, 1 run, not a lot of turn for Narine either, and Henriques flicks it down to long-on

5.3 - Narine to Warner, 1 run, nudges this off the pads behind square on the on-side

5.2 - Narine to Warner, no run, this is what he has been trying to do. Cramp the left-hander up from over the wicket. Warner blocks

5.2 - Narine to Warner, wide, another one down leg, Warner bends low to pull the living hell out of it but fails to connect

Henriques 10(8) Warner 11(12) Y Pathan 3-0-17-0

4.6 - Y Pathan to Henriques, SIX, finally, a much needed six! This breaks the shackles and eases the pressure. A half-tracker, a rare one today, and Henriques clobbers the pull into the deep mid-wicket stands

4.5 - Y Pathan to Henriques, no run, tries to make use of the angle by playing the cut late but hits it to short third man

4.4 - Y Pathan to Warner, 1 run, Pathan drops Warner. You put one down, it's Warner, and as if that's not enough, you have hurt your fingers in the process. Wasn't an easy catch to start with, Warner had absolutely spanked the flat-batted forehand and it came very quick. Pathan did well actually to get his hands low to his right, but couldn't cling on

4.3 - Y Pathan to Henriques, 1 run, this is even quicker than the average Pathan ball today, Henriques clips it through mid-wicket

4.2 - Y Pathan to Warner, 1 run, stands tall and punches it down to long-off past a diving Pathan

4.1 - Y Pathan to Henriques, 1 run, oh hello! These two Aussies are done being subdued. Henriques flits out of the crease aiming a wild slog despite getting nowhere close to the pitch, lucky to have got a thick inside edge which goes behind square

3.6 - M Morkel to Warner, FOUR, just out of the reach of Uthappa! Well played, you have to say in the end. Back of a length delivery, Warner uses the angle away from him and glides it very fine. I bet he wouldn't have accounted for the ball to go this fine. But a boundary nonetheless

3.5 - M Morkel to Warner, no run, Warner is visibly losing his patience. He opens up his stance looking to hoist a back of a length delivery inside out, but he gets a thick inside edge and chops it right back on his boot

3.4 - M Morkel to Henriques, 1 run, full ball around off, Henriques gets half-forward and drives it softly in front of mid-off for a quick single

3.3 - M Morkel to Henriques, no run, oh nicely played. But straight to mid-wicket. Full ball angling in on middle and leg, Henriques waits on it before rolling the wrists. Can't quite pierce the gap

3.2 - M Morkel to Henriques, no run, fullish length outside off, not quite a half-volley and Henriques's balance is not completely steady as he drives to cover

3.1 - M Morkel to Warner, 1 run, back of a length delivery over the top of middle, Warner nurdles it into the vacant mid-wicket region and immediately hustles through to put pressure on mid-on for a second. But it's not there

2.5 - Y Pathan to Warner, no run, not quite fully forward to a ball which is quicker through the air, blocks

2.4 - Y Pathan to Warner, no run, oh some turn! There is some extra bounce as well which is negated by going deep in the crease. Drops it with soft hands on the pitch

2.3 - Y Pathan to Henriques, 1 run, not much difference in the trajectory, drifts this across off and Henriques works it down to long-on

1.6 - M Morkel to Dhawan, out Bowled!! Dhawan gets carried away, tries for a hat-trick of boundaries and is gone. He backed away a long way, then attempted to cut a ball from middle stump but was beaten by the pace of this back of a length delivery which clocked 140ks. The top of middle stump is pegged back. First blood for KOL. Dhawan b M Morkel 10(10) [4s-2]

M Morkel to Dhawan, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

1.5 - M Morkel to Dhawan, FOUR, yes sir! That's a Dhawan special. Such brilliant use of the wrists to pick a length ball from middle and off and whip it over mid-wicket

1.4 - M Morkel to Dhawan, FOUR, sees the width and slashes at a length ball outside off, he is in no control of it but the outside edge flies wide of backward point. Narine puts in a very ordinary effort, really, running to his left from third man and lets it through

1.3 - M Morkel to Dhawan, no run, quite prepared to drive on the up evidently. It suggests that the pitch is a good one with the ball coming on. Hits it straight to cover this time

1.2 - M Morkel to Dhawan, no run, length ball slanting away just outside off, Dhawan goes with hard hands on an attempted drive and so the bat-face closes. Mistimes it to mid-off

1.1 - M Morkel to Dhawan, no run, on a back of a length from over the wicket, veers away slightly to square Dhawan up and catch a thick leading edge before rolling harmlessly into the off-side

0.5 - Y Pathan to Warner, 1 run, darted in on a back of a length, nudged wide of mid-on

0.4 - Y Pathan to Dhawan, 1 run, comes down the track but realizes that the length isn't there, so he adjusts and works it to the left of mid-on for a single

0.3 - Y Pathan to Dhawan, no run, again hits the pads. Dhawan might do well to play for the straight ball here. But there is no real appeal as the ball is going down leg

0.2 - Y Pathan to Dhawan, no run, from wider on the crease, Pathan skids one through and manages to hit Dhawan's pads. Dhawan was cramped for room as the ball came in with the angle but did manage an inside edge

0.1 - Y Pathan to Warner, 1 run, hmm, no turn at all. Slides on from a length, ends up on Warner's pads and he clips it through mid-wicket for a single

Warner and Dhawan are at the crease. Warner is on strike. Y Pathan will open the attack

If death bowling ever has a doctor, Hyderabad have plenty of them already. The surgeon. The ophthalmologist. The rest. This was always going to be a contest between two superlative bowling units, wasn't it? KOL strived hard on an anti-Eden Gardens pitch, given the blades of grass it bore, and rued Russell's absence in addition to its mellowed spin potency outdoors. Hyderabad march ahead to meet a battered Gujarat on 27th May, here itself in Delhi. That will be a ruthless fight for sure. With an eye on the ticking clock, this is Pratyush Sinha bidding good night on behalf of Raju Peethala, Sagar Chawla, Abhishek Chaudhary and Sreenivas, our scorer. Ta-ta!

"I feel I left a lot of runs there today. You could throw a blanket over our performance. The bounce helped our skiddier bowlers more than Morkel and Co, we felt it easier to face Morkel and their guys. We have guys who can take the pace off, put it on and with Mustafizur, we have very good death bowlers too. The game owes you nothing. Every opportunity you get, you have to grab it. We are one step further and hopefully we can grab the next one too. There you go, I look forward to that (on having a new T20 League champion this year)," remarks Moises Henriques

Moises Henriques is the Man of the Match for his combo of runs and wickets

Warner: "We fielded well and that's what we set out to do as a group. You want to field well in those close games and this wasn't one of them. Bipul Sharma came in very handy. It's a tough wicket and runs always help in pressure situations in finals. Great execution by the bowlers. We took some spectacular catches in the outfield; it's something we worked hard on. The square's pretty much the same. Both teams have some firepower and it will be a good game (against GUJ). I told the boys to take one step at a time. We are up against Gujarat. We have set the benchmark high and we have to make sure that we execute the three facets of the game well in the next game."

Presentations are on as Ravi Shastri is at the crease with his microphone of a bat..

"It was an important match for us. We had lost the momentum coming in to this match. It was a good wicket for batsmen but it was also not coming on nicely. We had an idea of this wicket," says Bhuvneshwar who's awarded the Purple Cap

Gambhir: "I thought it was a good wicket and 160 odd was chaseable, the way we started. Munro's run out was the turning point. I thought we did not have big partnerships and someone needed to play a Yuvi-like cameo which was an unbelievable innings, though not a fifty but that changed the momentum. Someone into 60s or 70s and we would have won. Missed Russell in the last couple of overs. He can hit 140s too. Difficult to replace him (Russell) but we tried to get the best combination. We should have got 160 on this wicket. They did well to restrict the opposition but batters weren't upto the expectations. In this format, you have to play well and the individuals can take the game away. Getting into this game, we were confident because we had won against them. But when you lose Russell, it is difficult to replace someone like him. Fans have been unbelievable. Kolkata fans have been the most loyal fans, always stood by us. Hope they keep supporting us and we will try to give them more happy memories."

You must have heard it plenty of times as a cricket fan, that a run-chase is much more difficult in a pressure game. It's almost like adding 10-15 runs to the target. KOL's approach can't be faulted. All their energies at the start were focused on getting ahead of the rate despite losing Uthappa early. Gambhir and Munro played a lot of shots as far as I can remember, but couldn't really time many of them. That built up frustration which led into attempting ridiculous singles, one of which cost Munro his wicket as Yuvraj rolled back the clock at backward point. Gambhir couldn't last too much longer. Then came the big wicket of Pathan who had been averaging around 80 this season, and KOL found themselves at 69/4. Two young guns in Pandey and Suryakumar elevated hopes with a rearguard effort but they couldn't sustain it for a longer duration and the game was soon reduced to a death bowling clinic by the Fizz and Bhuvi.

"Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo" indeed but the slogan was more loyal to the colours not purple and gold. More like orange. And what a significant way to end this match. A dot ball to celebrate all the bowling potency that HYD have gathered. A full delivery, Narine opened the bat and guided it to short third man in place. The cheerleaders are crying, I swear..

19.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Holder, out Caught by Ben Cutting!! This is an anti-cliffhanger. 18.5 - Mustafizur to Holder, leg byes, 1 run, this ball pitched full. Too full and Holder couldn't use the room to dig it away. Reverse sweep actually. The ball bounds up, hits the chest as Holder grows clueless.. and sees the ball die in front of the stumps and runs for the bye. Rahman sprints up, picks the ball and rushes to hit the stumps but Sathish rushed back in

18.4 - Mustafizur to Holder, FOUR, just over a leaping mid-on! Not quite close on replays. Widened his stance, did Holder, and lofted this pacy length ball through long-on

18.3 - Mustafizur to Holder, no run, snorter, if I can call yorkers that. What worked was the positioning. Right between the legs of Holder who was standing outside leg-stump and was too late and too cramped to tick it away

18.2 - Mustafizur to Holder, no run, wide slower delivery powered with an angle across and Holder fails to reach it out

18.1 - Mustafizur to Sathish, 1 run, Shankar messed it up at long-on. A pre-planned swing from Sathish, so powerful that the bottom hand comes off. Was backed-away, the full toss was dipping and Pandey inclined to the off-side, crouched to get under it and pulled it away to deep mid-wicket. Many camera angles to determine if that was a four or a six.. and it looks to have hit the ropes on the half-volley. Finally. Who's returning that half a minute to me..

16.5 - Mustafizur to Sathish, leg byes, 1 run, this hurries in from a length and the ball misses the inside edge to ping the pad as Sathish looks to tuck

16.4 - Mustafizur to M Pandey, 1 run, ah, that lovelier. I need a thesaurus. Flat yorker on middle, Pandey had to reach out - so far backed away - and makes an acute angle between the bat and the ground to prevent the ball from rolling onto the stumps

14.5 - Barinder to M Pandey, no run, crashed away straight to someone in the off-side. Was on front foot, pushed forward but failed to twin all that with placement

14.4 - Barinder to Suryakumar Yadav, 1 run, another guide down to third man and Mustafizur fields it cleanly this time

14.3 - Barinder to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX, everything was out of sync on this. And the FIZZ has erred. Big time.
