I can feel the keyboard burning. Poor fella Akshay Maanay had to type like a robot to match the pace of ABD and Kohli. I just hope Delhi take it a little easy. But if they have to chase it down, they cannot afford to do so. Here comes the red army. Kohli has a little chat with Watto. QDK is the first man from Delhi to walk in. Iyer follows. Like ABD said the pitch started showing its true character by the end of Bangalore innings. So the trick for Delhi is to fetch as much water as they can before the well runs dry. I meant before the ball turns old.
"Yes, I thought I batted nicely tonight. We (obviously about Virat) do enjoy each other's company. The main thing is to know each other's game. We know each other's weaknesses as well. It is not always going to come off like that, but it was very pleasing tonight. I am pretty comfortable with the total we have. Just hit the deck hard and stay away from the fuller length deliveries," cautions ABD.
At one point, Bangalore looked like getting to 220 easily but Shami showed some heart and sent Watson and Kohli back. In between, his fielding effort on his own bowling saw Sarfaraz Khan falling short at the batting end. Shami's efforts combined with some good tight bowling certainly pulled things back a bit for Delhi. I think Bangalore got enough on the board. But it is during times like these chasers play freely and end up doing the unthinkable. Will it be one of those glorious nights for the visitors? Chase coming your way...
Sports writers are often accused of not using the right adjective and going overboard while praising the on field efforts. But not always, not tonight at least. Any word which I use to praise the efforts put in by Kohli and ABD will fit the occasion. So this is how it started... Delhi knew they were up against sledgehammer wielders. But could not do much apart from the first over wicket of Gayle.
19.6 -
C Morris to K Jadhav, FOUR, poor delivery and BLR end well. But would feel they are 15-20 runs short. They got only 27 runs from the last 4 overs. Will that change the end result? Morris is fuming after bowling a full toss outside off, Jadhav slaps it over the infield on the off-side, no one sweeping and it runs away
19.5 -
C Morris to K Jadhav, no run, slower back of a length delivery, right over the stumps, Jadhav swings across the line and misses, goes over middle and it is another dot
19.4 -
C Morris to Wiese, 1 run, this has been an excellent over so far. Very full and just outside off, Wiese squeezes it to long-off
19.3 -
C Morris to K Jadhav, 1 run, Shami has a rare blip in the field. Another low full toss from Morris, Jadhav drives it to mid-off and sets off, Shami takes aim and misses at the bowler's end, Jadhav was gone for all money
19.2 -
C Morris to Wiese, 1 run, low full toss on middle and leg, whipped away wide of long-on. Only a single
19.1 -
C Morris to K Jadhav, 1 run, that was a length delivery right in the slot for Jadhav and all he can do is squirt it off the inside edge onto pad, went for the heave and missed it altogether
It has been a brilliant comeback from DEL. Can they now finish well and keep it to under 200? With the way Morris has bowled, looks very likely...
18.6 -
Shami to Wiese, 2 runs, direct hit and Wiese was gone. Full toss on the stumps, Wiese is early into the flick, the leading edge goes to cover-point. Mishra fires it over the stumps at the bowler's end and the duo are alert enough to get back for the second
18.5 -
Shami to K Jadhav, leg byes, 1 run, Jadhav copes two blows on one delivery. First he misses the pull and wears it on the tummy, then Wiese calls him for the run and Shami throws the ball at the bowler's end and pings Jadhav's back instead
18.4 -
Shami to Wiese, 1 run, off-speed delivery on the pads, flicked away to deep backward square leg, DEL won't mind the singles
18.3 -
Shami to K Jadhav, 1 run, not good running. Jadhav thought it was four and didn't go across. Short delivery that gets high on him, splices the pull over mid-wicket. Iyer gives chase and makes an excellent save, just a single
18.3 -
Shami to K Jadhav, wide, that's a harsh call. At least in my opinion. Jadhav backed away and Shami followed him with a bouncer, Jadhav sits under it and umpire calls it a wide for line
18.2 -
Shami to K Jadhav, no run, short and outside off, Jadhav mistimes the flat-batted hit towards cover
David Wiese, right handed bat, comes to the crease
18.1 -
Shami to Kohli, out Caught by Shreyas Iyer!! Virat is waiting. The umpire is going up for a front foot no-ball check. Shami is fine and Virat continues to walk back. The BLR innings is losing gas towards the end and Kohli is livid with himself. Shouts a few superlatives as he makes his way to the dugout. Very full and on the stumps, Kohli whips the loft straight down the throat of long-on. Iyer didn't have to move an inch. A special innings comes to an end. He wanted to go for the whippy loft over cow corner, got it right off the bottom. Kohli c Shreyas Iyer b Shami 79(48) [4s-7 6s-3]
Shami to Kohli, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!
17.6 -
C Morris to Kohli, 1 run, yorker aimed for the stumps, Kohli jams it to long-on and retains strike
17.5 -
C Morris to Kohli, 2 runs, shortish and on the stumps, Kohli rolls his wrists and pulls it to deep backward square leg. He called for two and charged back to keep strike. Jadhav wasn't ready, but made it comfortably in the end
17.4 -
C Morris to Kohli, no run, Kohli is disappointed himself. Walks away to the leg-side and Morris bowls the yorker outside off, Kohli can't reach it and it is another dot ball for DEL. And my colleague Raju tells me it is the first dot ball Virat has played since 7.3
Third man and square leg inside the ring..
17.3 -
C Morris to K Jadhav, 1 run, streaky! Morris is keeping it either short or yorker, Jadhav jumps and looks to force it off the back foot, ekes out an inside edge past the stumps and down to fine leg
17.2 -
C Morris to K Jadhav, no run, good stuff from Morris. Wide yorker outside off, Jadhav can't lay bat on ball. He doesn't need to do anything, just take a single, sit back and watch the master unfurl
17.1 -
C Morris to K Jadhav, no run, back of a length around off, chopped to the right of de Kock
Chris Morris [2.0-0-17-0] is back into the attack
16.6 -
Shami to K Jadhav, 1 run, short of length around off, Jadhav rides the bounce and steers it to third man
Kedar Jadhav, right handed bat, comes to the crease
16.5 -
Shami to Sarfaraz Khan, out Sarfaraz Khan Run Out!! Brilliant bit of work from Shami. Sarfaraz didn't even wait for the umpire's finger to go up. He knew he was out and started walking back. Slower short delivery just outside off, Sarfaraz chops the cut off the toe-end to the left of Shami, sets off for a single thinking Shami won't get there, but he was wrong. Shami moved across quickly, collected the ball and hits the bulls-eye at the striker's end. Even a dive from Sarfaraz couldn't help him. Sarfaraz Khan run out (Shami) 1(2)
Shami to Sarfaraz Khan, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!
16.4 -
Shami to Kohli, 1 run, short on middle and leg, Kohli gets inside the line and pulls it to fine leg
16.3 -
Shami to Sarfaraz Khan, 1 run, short and outside off, Sarfaraz cracks the cut to deep backward point. Good field placing that and Shami bowled to it. They had the point back for the new batsman and he found the fielder
Sarfaraz Khan, right handed bat, comes to the crease
16.2 -
Shami to Watson, out Caught by C Morris!! That's well bowled, Shami. But the words were not required. Gives Watson a send off. And the Australian will remember this, he is not one to back away. It was a well-directed short delivery, Watson was moving away to leg, Shami followed him, could only get a glove on the pull and the ball popped up to short fine leg. Morris hangs on to the dolly. A good cameo from Watson and gets a pat on the back from his skipper. Watson c C Morris b Shami 33(19) [4s-2 6s-3]
Shami to Watson, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!
16.1 -
Shami to Watson, SIX, possible! If they keep going like this. You can't pitch the ball up to Watson and expect to get away, he moves away to the leg-side, sinks low and smashes it over long-on for a maximum, ideal start to the over
Mohammed Shami [2.0-0-20-0] is back into the attack
Strategic time-out! Came at the right time as I was running out of words. Will give me some time to go through the dictonary to learn new adjectives to describe the innings Virat is playing.. 220-plus on the cards?
15.6 -
Zaheer to Kohli, FOUR, a batting exhibition on display at the Chinnaswamy. Anyone wants to perfect the flick, head over to the ground. Low full toss on off, Kohli once again uses his supple wrists to find the gap, split deep mid-wicket and long-on perfectly
15.5 -
Zaheer to Kohli, SIX, that is a Virat special. Zaheer misses his yorker by a couple of inches or so, Kohli clears his front leg and gets his strong bottom hand into play, whips it using his wrists for a six over cow corner. Top class stuff!
15.4 -
Zaheer to Kohli, FOUR, Zaheer tries to outsmart Kohli, but it backfires. Sees the batsman shimmy down, goes for the wide yorker, but it is a full toss and Kohli slaps it through extra cover
15.3 -
Zaheer to Watson, 1 run, yorker length on the stumps, dug out to mid-wicket. Virat was sprinting across, he wanted two but once again it is Watto at the other end, not the quickest
15.2 -
Zaheer to Watson, SIX, there are some unlikely shots being played. First, Kohli plays the reverse sweep and now Watson who is so strong down the ground, goes for the lap. He took it on the full and got maximum result. Has a wide grin after watching it sail over
15.1 -
Zaheer to Watson, no run, very full and outside off, Watson squeezes the drive to extra cover
Five overs left and BLR on course to a score near to 200. Can DEL pull things back with a couple of wickets? They need to, if they have to stay alive in the contest and the skipper has brought himself on
Zaheer Khan [3.0-0-29-1] is back into the attack
14.6 -
Mishra to Watson, 1 run, floated up outside off, Watson slaps it along the ground to long-off
14.5 -
Mishra to Kohli, 1 run, Kohli comes down the track and gets too close to the ball, flicked to deep mid-wicket. Has to be content with one even though he called for two
14.4 -
Mishra to Kohli, FOUR, second time he has attempted the reverse sweep today, and this time he is successful. The wrong 'un, full and outside off, Kohli middles the sweep and gets it past Brathwaite at short third man
14.3 -
Mishra to Kohli, SIX, that is a marvellous shot. With the spin and over extra cover. Zaheer can only watch it sail over the rope. Flighted and just outside off, Kohli stays leg-side of the ball and lofts it over extra, flat and over the rope
14.2 -
Mishra to Watson, 1 run, short and turning away, Watson toe-ends the pull to long-on
14.1 -
Mishra to Watson, no run, big turn for Mishy. Watson was shaping to play the cut, but can't reach the ball. Looks at the umpire for a wide and umpire Vineet Kulkarni laughs it off
Amit Mishra [2.0-0-13-0] is back into the attack
13.6 -
Brathwaite to Watson, 1 run, another off-pace delivery, on the shorter side, Watson backs away and then tries to forehand down the ground. Gets it off the base of the bat wide of backward point
13.5 -
Brathwaite to Watson, no run, low full toss and Watson misses out, goes hard and ekes out an inside edge onto pad, the ball rolls back to Brathwaite
13.4 -
Brathwaite to Watson, FOUR, Brathwaite feeling the heat. Splays the slower delivery down leg, Watson helps it on the way and collects four more. All the pressure built in the last two overs have been released in three deliveries
13.3 -
Brathwaite to Watson, FOUR, those two shots should get him going. Again Brathwaite goes full, but this time on the pads of Watson, flicked up and over mid-wicket. Fielder at deep square leg had no chance
13.2 -
Brathwaite to Watson, SIX, that is Watto annoucing his arrival. Right in the arc for the Australian. Full and around off, Watson plants his front foot forward and tonks it over the bowler's head. All the way for a maximum
13.1 -
Brathwaite to Kohli, leg byes, 1 run, slower short delivery, Kohli was early into the pull, the ball hits his shoulder and loops over QdK. Third man tidies up
12.6 -
Shami to Kohli, 1 run, fifty for Kohli. And there is a huge roar from the crowd. Dan Vettori and rest of the members in the dugout are up on their feet applauding. Kohli doesn't celebrate much. Knows there is still lot to do. Tucks the back of a length delivery behind square, called for two and sends back Watson in the nick of time
12.5 -
Shami to Watson, 1 run, Watson is struggling for his timing. Back of length close to off, mistimed punch to the left of extra cover. Watson is neither forward nor back for such deliveries
12.4 -
Shami to Kohli, 1 run, Kohli charges down and Shami follows him with a short of length delivery, short-arm pull played wide of mid-wicket
12.3 -
Shami to Watson, 1 run, shortish and just outside off, punched off the back foot to sweeper cover
12.2 -
Shami to Watson, no run, back of a length around off, Watson plays a nothing shot. Wanted to force it down the wicket, with feet stuck in cement, the ball zips past the inside edge and wasn't far from the off-pole
12.1 -
Shami to Kohli, 1 run, back of a length on the hips, Kohli moves across and flicks it behind square. The running also will slow down as Watto is not a swift mover like AB
Mohammed Shami [1.0-0-15-0] is back into the attack
11.6 -
Brathwaite to Watson, no run, clever change of pace, Watson misses out on the steer to third man. A successful over from Brathwaite, just the 3 runs and the wicket of ABD. Should calm things down for a couple of overs
11.5 -
Brathwaite to Kohli, 1 run, shortens the length as Kohli shuffles across, tucked away to fine leg after getting inside the line
11.4 -
Brathwaite to Watson, 1 run, drifting into the pads, clipped away square on the leg-side
11.3 -
Brathwaite to Watson, no run, back of a length on off, Watson taps it towards point. Kohli wanted the run, but Watson sends him back in time
Shane Watson, right handed bat, comes to the crease
11.2 -
Brathwaite to de Villiers, out Caught by Shami!! The 2016 T20 WC final hero, Carlos Brathwaite is thrilled to bits. He has chugged down the big fish. Has both his arms lifted and lets out a roar. Nonetheless, a fine knock comes to an end. And with that some breathing space for DEL. Oh wait! It is Shane Watson walking in next. Scratch the previous sentence. Full and in the slot, de Villiers couldn't get underneath it, hits it flat and straight to long-on. Shami takes it with both hands. Judged it perfection to give Carlos his first T20 League wicket. de Villiers c Shami b Brathwaite 55(33) [4s-9 6s-1]

10.6 -
Negi to Kohli, 1 run, sensible stuff, gets the six and next ball drops it wide of cover and goes to the other end
10.5 -
Negi to Kohli, SIX, Matthew Hayden went, "SHOT" on air. Alan Donald got up and wanted to see where did the ball land. That brings up the 100-run stand. It is a pleasure watching these two bat. Kohli shimmies down, gets to the pitch this time and lofts it handsomely over long-on, went a long way back into the crowd
10.4 -
Negi to de Villiers, 1 run, de Villiers gets a big stride forward as he goes for the paddle, takes it on the full and gets only a single to short fine leg
10.3 -
Negi to de Villiers, no run, fired on the pads, whipped to short fine leg. Travelled quickly and hence no chance of a single

Negi to de Villiers, no run, slower through the air as AB stepped out of the crease, blocked back to the bowler
10.1 -
Negi to Kohli, 1 run, Kohli comes down the track, Negi tosses it up around off, dragged the length back, Kohli gets the loft off the inside half of the bat to long-on
At the halfway mark, it has all been BLR. Once again the entertainers being Kohli and ABD. The pair are three short of a second successive 100-run stand...
9.6 -
Mishra to Kohli, 1 run, googly on the shorter side, Kohli rocks back and pulls to deep mid-wicket
9.5 -
Mishra to de Villiers, 1 run, flighted just outside off, de Villiers fetches the sweep, under-edges it to short fine leg
9.4 -
Mishra to de Villiers, leg byes, FOUR, Mishra has only himself to blame. Slips the googly onto the pads, on a rare occasion AB misses out on the glance, the ball brushes the thigh pad and races away
9.3 -
Mishra to de Villiers, 2 runs, this one stops a bit on de Villiers, he checks his nurdle to the leg-side, the ball barely crosses the 30-yard circle and the batsmen have stolen two
9.2 -
Mishra to Kohli, 1 run, Kohli steps out and Mishra is smart enough, keeps it short and slides it on, slapped straight to deep extra cover
9.1 -
Mishra to de Villiers, 1 run, wrong 'un, de Villiers read it off the surface, nudges it to deep mid-wicket
8.6 -
Negi to de Villiers, 1 run, fifty for AB. Consecutives fifties for the Superman from South Africa. He looks like a man on a mission. Eases the low full toss to long-off. Acknowledges the applause from the crowd with a wave of the bat. They just love him
8.5 -
Negi to de Villiers, FOUR, Negi looks on as AB carves him away for another boundary. Darted in full and outside off, de Villiers opens the bat face and drives it square on the off-side, sweeper had no chance
8.4 -
Negi to de Villiers, no run, flighted on the stumps, driven back gently back to the bowler

Negi to Kohli, 1 run, tossed up on off, Kohli drives inside out to long-off
7.6 -

7.5 -
Mishra to de Villiers, 1 run, worked away through mid-wicket, thought about the second, but decided against it
7.4 -
Mishra to Kohli, 1 run, seemed like a wrong 'un, Kohli read it well, worked it with the turn through mid-wicket
7.3 -
Mishra to Kohli, no run, bit short and around off, chopped towards point

Mishra vs these two would be an interesting battle. And here he is..

6.3 -
Negi to de Villiers, 1 run, slightly short and outside off, chopped away to sweeper cover

6.1 -
Negi to Kohli, 1 run, that's interesting. Turn on offer. The length was short and Kohli slapped it to the right of cover, JPD dives and takes the pace off the ball, only a single
Pawan Negi, left-arm orthodox, comes into the attack
Time out and DEL needed one badly. After getting rid of Gayle in the first over, they have lost the plot and if they don't do something about it, we would have a run-feast at the Chinnaswamy..
5.6 -
C Morris to de Villiers, FOUR, that is the shot of the day for me. Morris just takes his cap from the umpire and walks away. Full and on the stumps, de Villiers presents the straightest of bats and drives it past mid-on. That was beautiful!
5.5 -
C Morris to Kohli, 1 run, dug in short and on off, Kohli backs away, ramps it to third man, on the bounce to the fielder
5.4 -
C Morris to Kohli, 2 runs, needless from Negi. Kohli guides it to the left of backward point, an easy single was on offer and AB had made it in as well, but Negi hits the stumps at the striker's end and concedes an extra run
5.3 -
C Morris to de Villiers, leg byes, 1 run, better from Morris. Cramps the batsman for room from short of length, de Villiers gets into a tangle, can't get any bat on that, the pair scamper through for a leg-bye
5.2 -
C Morris to de Villiers, FOUR, this is bread and butter for AB de Villiers. Straying onto the pads, de Villiers gets inside the line and glances it fine, no one's going to stop that

C Morris to Kohli, 1 run, short of length around off, Kohli steers it to third man, back to AB
Chris Morris [1.0-0-5-0] is back into the attack
4.6 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, FOUR, these two are at it again. Till now, this game seems to be following the same script as the Hyderbad game. Gayle gets out early and the duo took on the bowling. This was not a bad delivery, slower delivery on short of length, de Villiers was looking to force it off the back foot, the outside edge splits slip and short third man to perfection
Back over the wicket...
4.5 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, FOUR, Zaheer was economical upto now and AB is spoiling his figures. Went looking for the yorker, dished out a full toss outside off, driven along the ground between extra cover and mid-off
4.4 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, FOUR, not the length Zak. Shortish and just outside off, de Villiers hops across and pulls it in front of square on the on-side, wide of mid-on and that raced away
Round the wicket now..
4.3 -
Zaheer to Kohli, 1 run, change of pace from Zak, rolled his fingers across the ball, but the length was on the shorter side, Kohli waits and runs it down to third man
4.2 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, 1 run, on a length and outside off, driven on the rise to sweeper cover
Wide slip in place for AB..
4.1 -
Zaheer to Kohli, 1 run, back of a length and just outside off, glided away with an open bat face to third man
3.6 -
Shami to de Villiers, SIX, not a welcome return for Shami. Another bad delivery, short and no zip or venom on the delivery, sat up for ABD, he rocked back and deposited the pull into the crowd at deep mid-wicket. 15 off the over and BLR have gained momentum
3.5 -
Shami to Kohli, 1 run, Shami started to go up for LBW. But he knew there was an inside edge, aborted from the appeal. Full and curling in, Kohli closes the bat face, ekes out an inside edge onto the back pad, the ball rolls to short third man
3.4 -
Shami to Kohli, no run, on a length and close to off, Kohli offers a dead-bat in defence
3.3 -
Shami to Kohli, FOUR, overcompensates and pays the price. Half volley and just outside off, Kohli says thank you very much and drives it beautifully through cover, no one in the deep to stop that
3.2 -
Shami to Kohli, FOUR, that's rubbish. Short and down leg, would have been wided, but Kohli didn't want to let go of a scoring opportunity. Helped it on its away and collected four more. Fine leg was square and had no chance
3.1 -
Shami to de Villiers, leg byes, 1 run, looks nippy. Back of a length and shapes back in, de Villiers is beaten for pace, is late in bringing his bat down, is struck on the thigh and the ball dribbles to the off-side, Kohli calls for a quick run
Mohammed Shami, right-arm fast medium, comes into the attack
Here's Shami. When was the last time he played competitive cricket? My guess is the 2015 WC. Let's see how he goes....
2.6 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, 1 run, back of a length and just outside off, carved away square on the off-side, Samson gets across from sweeper and keeps it to a single

2.3 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, 1 run, shortens the length and outside off, de Villiers eases it to deep cover. Good captaincy from Zaheer, kept the sweeper just before the ball
Shreyas Iyer is on the mic and he says, he can't hear a thing. Such is the noise at the Chinnaswamy. Meanwhile, Zaheer brings in third man and keeps a sweeper
2.2 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, no run, too full and curling in, de Villiers wrists it to mid-on, straight to the fielder
There is still a slip in place..
2.1 -
Zaheer to Kohli, 1 run, back of a length and slanted across off, steered away to third man
1.6 -
C Morris to de Villiers, no run, short of length on off, de Villiers taps it in front of mid-on, thought about the single and is sent back as Kohli wasn't keen. Tidy start from Morris, well backed up to Zak
1.5 -
C Morris to de Villiers, no run, not all that short to play the cut. But de Villiers can make any length look ordinary, not this time. Back of a length and around the fourth stump line, de Villiers cuts and is beaten on the top edge. Very close to the body
1.4 -
C Morris to Kohli, 1 run, fullish and hint of nip away, Kohli pushes at it away from the body, the thickish outside edge rolls along the carpet to third man
The crowd will be kept on their feet by these two. When Kohli is on strike, they go "Kohli, Kohli" and change it to "AB, AB" when de Villiers comes on
1.3 -
C Morris to Kohli, no run, oh Morris gets away with one. A nice juicy full toss around off, Kohli could have hit it anywhere, but mistimes it back to Morris. The bat turned on impact and hence no timing
1.2 -
C Morris to Kohli, no run, shortens the length and tucks the batsman up, knocked back to the bowler
1.1 -
C Morris to Kohli, FOUR, Kohli off the mark with a boundary as well. That sped off the bat. Very full and outside off, Kohli was made to reach out, would have been a wide had he let it go, slices it behind backward point and third man had no chance
Chris Morris, right-arm fast medium, comes into the attack
0.6 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, FOUR, class! Now along the ground. That's a top shot from the Superman from Benguluru. Overpitched and outside off, de Villiers leans into the drive and creams it through extra cover, timing and placement superb!
0.5 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, FOUR, AB is off and running and the crowd find their voice again. Fullish and just outside off, de Villiers lofts it over cover-point nonchalantly. No need to run for those, at least at this venue where the ball travels quickly
0.4 -
Zaheer to de Villiers, no run, back of a length and angled across off, de Villiers goes across and bunts it to the off-side. Played that awkwardly
AB de Villiers, right handed bat, comes to the crease
0.3 -
Zaheer to Gayle, out Caught by Duminy!! Pin drop silence at the Chinnaswamy. Gayle gone for nought. Zak waits for Duminy to pull off a stunner and then starts to celebrate. Huge wicket this for Delhi. And a couple of minutes silence for those who had made Gayle their powerplayer in the fantasy leagues. Perfect delivery, pitched up and drawing the batsman forward before tailing it away, Gayle goes searching for it, feet going nowhere and the outside edge found, Duminy dived full length to his left and took an excellent catch. Made it look utterly easily the South African. Gayle c Duminy b Zaheer 0(3)
Zaheer to Gayle, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!
0.2 -
Zaheer to Gayle, no run, shortens the length and nips away outside off, Gayle keeps his bat inside the line and let is pass. Sensible stuff!
A slip in place...
0.1 -
Zaheer to Gayle, no run, bit of shape and Gayle is beaten. Keeps it in the corridor around off, curls away ever so slightly, Gayle has a tentative prod and is beaten on the outside edge. His feet went nowhere
Gayle and Kohli are at the crease. Gayle is on strike. Zaheer will open the attack
Bangalore fans will be dejected but Delhi is not sleeping tonight. But here is a little advise, catch some sleep. It is Monday tomorrow and the game is in the evening, no point missing the office. Join us tomorrow for another T20 affair. Good night from our side. Take care!
QDK: "Was hoping for one of these days to come. Was a good wicket and had to capitalise. It is a good wicket, fast outfield, did not need to hit big sixes, just try and get boundaries and run ones and twos. When Karun came in, the game plan was to build a partnership. But we knew boundary balls were going to come. I was waiting for a chance like this. It is nice to contribute to the team all the time. Happy about it, going to keep trying and do it."
Quinton de Kock is the Man of the Match for his magnificent 51-ball 108.
Zaheer Khan: "Special effort by Quinton and Karun both. We know it was a high scoring ground. Of course special mention has to be for Shami and Morris. My bad over helped me figure out what was going to work here, asked them to bowl back of a length. BLR have a top heavy batting line up. At one stage, we were wondering getting Gayle out was a good thing or bad. We ticked one box today and now we can take our foot off the paddle for a while."
Kohli: "Yes it is a hard one to swallow. We lost Watto and I didn't get strike for 8 balls, we were 10-15 runs short. Credit goes to Delhi the way they batted, especially Quinton de Kock, he took the game away from us. Karun as well for hanging around there. We thought we could get to 200. But Delhi bowled well, set the field right and executed their plans. Shami, Chris Morris and Brathwaite bowled well in the middle. But it happens in cricket. We have to believe that we can get a batsman out. If you are hesitant then the batsman is going to sense it and get on top of you."
BLR have to blame themselves. Their bowlers bowled all over the place and it became difficult for Virat Kohli to set a field. De Villiers and Kohli's breathtaking artistry put the hosts on top, however, the last few overs didn't yield much and that resulted in them slumping to their first defeat of the tournament.
After six years Delhi have finally managed to register a victory against Bangalore. Watson-Wiese's exceptional team work to pull off a catch in the first over was the moment of the day. But that early blow didn't hamper the run chase as de Kock took charge and kept playing his shots. Though Samson didn't last long, Karun Nair, the local boy, strung together with de Kock and the pair kept the scorecard ticking by collecting boundaries and never allowed the run rate to dip. The South African cracked a 48-ball century before falling to Watson. Karun too essayed a fine half-century and along with Duminy gunned down the chase.
19.1 -
Chahal to Duminy, 1 run, dramatic end to a memorable match. Delhi win it by 7 wickets in the end. Duminy pushed this one back to the bowler, who tried to run Nair out. He was well out of the crease there, but Chahal missed the throw. Duminy went for the single but Nair was ball watching, obliged a bit late but eventually got before the throw from mid-off reached the wicket-keeper. The Delhi Sultanate reigns supreme and guess who is the emperor tonight? It is de Kock
Yuzvendra Chahal [2.0-0-22-0] is back into the attack
18.6 -
Watson to Duminy, leg byes, 1 run, does it have to go to the last over? Yes, fails to get bat on the tuck, the ball rolls along the pitch, gets a single. So Duminy will be the lucky man to hit the winning runs

Short ball and a good one, de Kock wanted to pull it. But all he could get was some glove, the keeper moved to his right and took a rather simple catch. 17.3 -
Wiese to de Kock, 1 run, HUNDRED FOR de Kock . First in the T20 League, cuts this length ball to sweeper cover for a single and then raises his arms, takes off his helmet. Let the moment sink in. But the task is not finished for him yet. Delhi will need him to stay till the end

David Wiese, right-arm fast medium, comes into the attack

Not the start Delhi needed to hunt this one down. Samson c Chahal b Watson 9(14)

Parvez Rasool [1.0-0-13-0] is back into the attack
3.6 -
Watson to Samson, 2 runs, a misfield from the fielder from mid-off on this drive gets Samson two runs. However, the shot deserved much more than that, it was a pristine drive off the front foot, only if it had been placed a little better, the story would have been a fairytale

3.4 -
Watson to de Kock, 1 run, de Kock advnaces but Watson keeps it short and away from him. de Kock drags the drive to mid-on for a single. A direct hit at the bowler's end is only good enough for a roar from the crowd

Aravind to Shreyas Iyer, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!
Wait for it, something exceptional has happened out there and we will need the third umpire to confirm whether Iyer will walk back or not. The first formality is fine, it is a legal delivery.
