After a rain break that lasted more than 2 hours, the match was reduced to 40 overs per side. Miller and Duminy came out with aggressive intent, especially Miller, who kept employing the sweep shot to score some quick runs. It was Sabbir Rahman's brilliant catch that ended Miller's knock and soon after that, Duminy took it upon himself to take South Africa to a competitive total. Despite wickets falling towards the end, South Africa managed to reach 168 in their 40 overs. Shakib was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets. Mustafizur and Rubel too chipped in with 2 wickets to their names. After Duckworth-Lewis calculations, the target for Bangladesh will be 170. South Africa once again got off to a poor start as de Kock fell in the 3rd over itself. With the pitch offering some assistance to the bowlers, the Proteas batsmen failed to get going. du Plessis, Amla and Rossouw too failed to get going and at one stage, South Africa were 50/4. Miller and Duminy then got together and stabilized the innings until the heavens opened up.
South Africa will definitely be disappointed with the total on the board. However, without seeing the Bangladeshi batters, it is hard to comment whether Bangladesh have the upper hand right now. Remember, the target will be adjusted for Bangladesh according to Duckworth-Lewis.

What a day this has been for Bangladesh. Yet again, they have proved their critics wrong. Their performances in the past few months, especially in the ODIs, show that they have come a long way from being tagged as underdogs/minnows. Hopefully, they will continue to perform like this and there's no doubt in my mind that cricket overall will benefit from it.
Series summary:
The first game belonged to Kagiso Rabada as he picked up 6/16, the best figures on ODI debut. His spell also included a hat-trick that tore the Bangladeshi batting line-up apart. In the end, Bangladesh could only manage 160 runs on the board and South Africa chased that down, with 8 wickets in hand. The second ODI was like a role-reversal, with South Africa getting bowled out for 163 after opting to bat. Chasing a low total, Bangladesh were struggling at 24/2 at one stage, but a 135-run stand between Soumya Sarkar and Mahmudullah helped Bangladesh level the series.
Mortaza gets the trophy from BCB's President, Nazmul Hassan and his team-mates join him in celebration. Lots of happy faces around and they deserve to celebrate this win.
Mortaza: 'It was a clinical performance. After losing the first game, it's always difficult to come back, but the boys showed a lot of character by winning the next two. The boys took the first loss very seriously and delivered brilliantly in the next two games. The way Soumo is batting, it was nice to see. Shakib has always produced great performances for us. Mustafizur (Rahman) is bowling well too. Tamim too played really well. Hopefully, the boys will take this form into the Tests. Amla: 'Very disappointed with the way we played. We didn't read the pitch properly. It certainly got a lot easier after the rain break as the outfield got wet. We showed we are rusty, we didn't play good cricket in the last couple of games. Bangladesh did and they deserve the win. Bangladesh have been playing good ODI cricket. Tests are a different ball game altogether and we will look to turn things around when we meet next.'
Soumya Sarkar is the Man of the Match for his 75-ball 90. He is also the Man of the Series for amassing 205 runs in the series. He spoke in Bengali.
South Africa were outplayed in all facets of the game today. Soumya Sarkar and Tamim Iqbal came out with intent. Early into the innings, they were playing the balls according to merit. They defended the good balls and dispatched the poor ones to the fence. Soon, both of them found their timing and kept thrashing the bowlers all over the park. Soumya Sarkar was the destroyer-in-chief and kept smacking the visitors all around. Tamim gave him good support as well from the other end. Sarkar was looking set for another ton, but got out for 90 towards the end. Tamim too reached his fifty and made sure that he stayed there till the end. The Proteas bowlers didn't turn up today and Bangladesh deserved the win, especially after restricting South Africa to a low total.
Bangladesh have scripted history. Beating Pakistan (3-0), India (2-1) and now South Africa (2-1), this is no fluke that they have beaten three of the top sides in international cricket, including two teams that featured in the semi-finals of the 2015 World Cup.
Tamim: 'It's a huge moment for Bangladesh cricket. Beating South Africa is not an easy task, so hats off to the team. Soumya Sarkar played brilliantly. I was due for some runs as well.
